more (paid) versions of ac instead of new ones
Jester986 replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Of course ED would have to figure out if this would be profitable, but overall I like the idea to help generate revenue. The F-5 is the best example I think of an "easy" plane to do this to. They already seem to be doing this though with the KA-50. Free graphical update with a paid update to capabilities. The down side to this would be that Razbam plans to include another mig-19 version for free, Heatblur plans to give us the F-14A for free, and Polychop has given us four different Gazelle models for the price of one. I would expect to see the kind of stuff stop. Strange to see customers arguing to get less for their money huh? Haha, it just goes to show how emotionally as well as financially invested we are in DCS. What I will NOT support. Buy X aircraft and have to pay to unlock Y ability. I'm going to break a rule here and mention another sim, but its so bad and irrelevvant does anyone really care? Rise of Flight. Bought the game, then had to buy airplanes... Ok not happy. Then after buying the airplane I had to buy things like alitimeters and compasses for the plane! Immediately deleted. I also dont care for the special skins and setting up a class system within the community. Its also pretty pointless with how easy it is to download skins. But Dear ED, if different models are close with different abilities or different serial numbers got upgrades. Thats fine to pay for. But never sell me a plane and then charge me to unlock what it should be able to do. And its never been suggested but thats the scary bottom of the slippery slope this idea could lead to. -
Quesiton for devs / poll for users - will you add Save game option
Jester986 replied to hreich's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Didn't vote. Need a save game option? No. Nice to have? Yes. -
Id buy the "estudiante" campaign. Not the same ring to it as kursant though lol.

I think the 101 is great and wish more people would buy it. Unfortunately most DCS users seem to want boring soulless gen 4 blufor.
-
They're still working on finishing the C-101 and they seem dead set on avoiding the "new ea product before first one is done" controversy. Which I admire. I just hope they are financially stable to be able to continue F-1 development. I love the 101 but trainers aren't the most popular modules.

Mr. Grey, Thank you for your reddit post. It goes a long way to generate good will from me. While I'm not carrying a pitchfork or an apologist, I'm sure you can understand why many of us experience frustration with ED and third party developers some times. I can only imagine your frustration in trying to run this machine, deal with employees, and deal with sometimes unreasonable customers is exponentially more. It was great to hear though that about 50% of the developers are working on core improvements. I did not expect that that much effort was going into it versus module development. I love this game and look forward to seeing it grow. I wish you success with it and will continue to support ED as long as a reasonable pace is kept towards finishing EA modules. I'm fine with the Hornets pace, but smaller modules like the NS 430 and Yak 52 have been falling behind the curve. Best Regards, Jester

Newer helicopters have them, older ones don't. I had an astar pilot checking out my cockpit the other day and he was blown away I didn't have a torque warning. You just know to keep an eye on your gauges. If I'm doing a lift I can bring the line tight, look at my gauge and pull to my max power and leave the collective right there. No over torques.

Yes, and its a great aircraft. It falls into the easy to learn Extremely difficult to master category. I love it for how analog everything is. All the clicks and clacks and whirs. It is mostly a strike one pass haul ass type of aircraft though.
-
Considering how dodgy they've been about answering direct questions about their new partnership I'm pretty worried we're losing heatblur. When asked "will you develop anymore DCS world modules" since the merger? Buyout? they haven't answered. So it may just be finish what they have and move on.

They just thought it was a cool video to share and talk about even though its from a different game. Don't read into it.

Why troll the F-8 thread with your mig issues? The Mig is an old module from before the company split. The code is probably a mess with half the people who worked on it gone. I like the Mig and have a lot of fun with it and will happily buy future modules from this dev. If you disagree well thats your prerogative. But we should all probably accept that were not going to see any major mig updates.

Hi Hiro, I wouldn't ask for a date because its obviously very far out. If you ever feel like sharing any early 3d models or what's being researched that would be cool. This is one of my dream aircraft for DCS so I'm excited to follow along. However if you guys plan to keep mostly silent on development I understand given how this community tends to react. Best regards.

Probably not much to share but if there is I'd love to see it :)

The F-86 is fun and I enjoy it but it doesn't transfer much to the F-18. In dcs you don't need to advance and transition from simpler planes to more advanced. All you have to do is respawn. To me though doing that is part of the fun. If you don't want to go for a dedicated trainer like the C-101 or L-39 (both great) then the F-5 is the best jet trainer. But F-86, C-101, L-39, F-5, or F-18 what ever you pik you cant lose. They're all great.
-
Yes pepin, they still exist. They regularly release updates for the C-101 and are active on the forum. They're a small team though and with how long the 101 took it will probably be years for the F-1. Im sure it will be worth the wait though.
-
The Mod is great, hats off to the creators of it. But I would like to see a payware one so it can be implemented into multiplayer easier, get auto updates, etc.
-
Hope you feel better GA! We can wait.
-
Bad AI and different flight dynamics for me and the ai is why I play multiplayer
-
Just dropping by to say thank you to ED for making it so this module doesn't split the multiplayer base! I'll definitely be buying it.
-
Well I hope Aviodev charges enough to turn a profit and keep making modules! Asking for 39.99... Probably best to wait for a sale if thats your limit because I doubt they can make money at that price point.
-
Yea, but even then I wouldn't start flashing weird nunbers all over myself lol. Anyway point was its a bug but not one I'm particularly bothered by since its user error anyway. Im happy to see improvements being made to the most important ones.
-
Oh and don't start up the tpod while still on the ground. Thats probably user error but when I did it the screen freaked out.
-
So a few posts ago I was pretty harsh on Razbam but I wanted to say thanks for the recent update. If you can keep up with regular updates and fixes I'll be pleased and willing to continue to support future products. The Harrier still needs plenty of work, but Im encouraged by recent fixes.

This stuff happens in games and its very rare here. I think I can remember one other time its happened in the past three years and even then its fixed quickly...

I just hate those damn sniper rounds from tanks and ifv's. I wish there was a way to take them out of their load out.
