  1. The subject is so wide I don't know where to begin, esp. not knowing what you already know and what level you're on. I'd advise you to read a lot, ex.: https://theaviationist.com/2020/06/07/here-are-the-basic-fighter-maneuvers-fundamentals-you-need-to-understand-dogfights-explained-by-a-fighter-pilot/ and watch & listen to see how it should look like, ex.: These are just examples, I don't know if they are even good but there's plenty of articles and videos out there. The F-15C is great energy dogfighter so you should rather stay fast (over 350kts) and high (it flies better up there) but remember no two dogfights are the same - you have to press and react to your enemy's moves, improvise, wait for the moment to shoot, take advantage of opponent's mistakes. You may very well be dragged to low alt, low speed fight having to hold there. Installing Tacview can help you watch the fight after, check your mistakes and draw conclusions from it. Basic version is free: https://www.tacview.net/ Learning is one thing, practice is even more important, so whatever you learn practice a lot. You can start with AI for now but you'll have to start practicing with human opponents online to get to your best. AI is not the best enemy because their flight model is not very realistic (they use simplified SFM) so they usually turn better than they should IRL but they are also limited in what they can do. So you'll get to the point where it'll become a bit predictable after a while. You can counter too good AI by choosing a less powerful aircraft to fight with, lowering their skill or making them heavier with more fuel, while flying light loaded yourself.
  2. @Flappie Is it reported already? Seems to be affecting multiple modules.
  3. I find above replies confusing so I'll answer this simply for you: You can use any AI unit on any map you want.

Not gonna go back and forth on whose bug is uglier. There are more, not only module but also their missions and campaigns. The point was both ED, RAZBAM and HB can do very good modules but I cringe and react that it's somehow HB considered "quality" developer.

You confused bugs list with unrealistic features. And tell me if inability to see LANTIRN or TCS as a pilot is not game breaking.
  6. You're talking about data link. I'm saying about radio comms. Yes, GCI was also done this way IRL.
  7. I support - ground crew may be taken into consideration after they are done with SC crew.
  8. ED says they'll think about land ground crew after finishing up the carrier deck crew.
  9. Technically one doesn't need any better times than 10ms for 90Hz but it usually means that spikes can easily go over it in some situations/settings/missions and give you stutters. The better the CPU the further the limit to push it over. Just have to find a balance between what you need and how much money you want to pay for it. Having $500 GPU can jutify having $500 CPU to pair it with.
  10. He may mean just the GCI - as the name suggests "ground controlled intercept" - as radio voiced commands. If implemented it could work for any aircraft with a radio.
  11. Unbelievable! That disqualifies the long trusted repair process. I'll go do it myself. Maybe it'll fix some other issues...
  12. Was this tested with the same track in DCS? The difference is crazy. You won't see it in any other game or benchmark I suppose.
  13. Why? It was once part of the Lock On.
  14. Exactly the same can be said for RF neglecting their Navy. They don't have much aircraft, they're old and have no carrier to fly from. Let's see how well MiG-29A sells and then see what's likely to happen next and if it's possible to be made.
  15. I find slight traces of unpositive vibes against Windows 11 in your post or is it just a false feeling I get?
  16. @RastaPutin2.0 OK, you've gone through my post. Now take a look into BIGNEWY's post to move further.

Right, where's that quality in my Tomcat? Major gamebreaking bugs left for years, crawling development and maintenance since new cash cows showed up on the horizon, unrealistic implementations... Both ED, RAZABAM and HB create top notch modules - none is caring them well. About WSO - it was planned in later development and yes, it's needed and welcome. Contrary to the Tomcat though you don't actually require one to fly and fight, so players rarely miss him.
  19. The only one Instant Action mission for Syria map called similar is "Cold Start - Israel" that have you starting in the open. Save a track next time.
  20. No need to complicate things. Just add a friendly aircraft and plan its route. Then add player aircraft nearby, then try to join and keep formation. While the AI does unrealistic moves it's still a valid way to practice formation flying. Start with heavier aircraft flying straight and level, then add some maneuvers then go with maneuvering fighters. You can do this in almost any mission involving friendly flights, so no need to create one either.
  21. Or you can assault terrorist caves and camps
  22. Provide your ticket numbers to @BIGNEWY or @NineLine. You can use private/direct message.
  23. As a player you choose your aircraft and server you fly on. You can also start a server, make your own mission and decide who to allow. These are your options. Otherwise the wishlist is here: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/207-dcs-core-wish-list/
  24. Set mission around 89, put MiG-29A w/R-27R and R-73 vs F-15C w/AIM-7M and AIM-9L - fully realistic and "competitive". Realism and balance is in the hands of mission creator.
