There is something for aircraft. Ex. you may find the wingman retreat when his lead blows up.

Bugs happen. When it works it's great. -

You should try campaigns like Reforger II. -
We need better trees now that MSFS2024 has set the bar
draconus replied to rocket302's topic in DLC Map Wish List
ED's EDGE is still fine and have much potential for growth esp. with MT and Vulcan coming. They tested other engines and found them not up for the task. -
That's your problem. You don't see, because you may have knowledgle about EW but know nothing about believably simulating it in DCS on a bit higher level than it is implemented now. You didn't think they gonna simulate single radar pulses or EM waves going through the virtual sky, did you? Yet devs says otherwise (4 posts above) and I take their word for it instead of some random internet guy. That's who you are - you're just the one who's not helping at all, standing by and saying: "Impossible, you can't do it, I know how, but won't tell".

Of course, I'm all in for fully competent and autonomic RIO. Wasn't that asked for in already wished Jester 2.0 though? -

Have a link? Never heard of someone defending Jester as fully authentic or very realistic. He does have limitations and was never meant as a full human RIO experience, just believable and helpful one. From FAQ: Q: What is a RIO? Do I need a RIO to fly the Tomcat? A: The RIO is the Radar Intercept Officer, in other aircraft sometimes also referred to as WSO or Weapon Systems Officer (in the Strike Eagle for example) or NFO, Naval Flight Officer (which are all not pilots, contrary to Naval Aviators). He sits in the backseat in the Tomcat. He does all the radio communications and also manages flight lead, he manages the radar, the systems, he runs the intercepts and missions and is responsible for navigation and much much more. He is generally considered the "boss" in the aircraft. He takes a backrole in BFM however or during maneuvers, that require a lot of input by the pilot (landings, take offs, AAR, etc), but is else often in charge of the aircraft. You do not need a human RIO to fly our Tomcat, we created "JESTER", a RIO-AI for this very purpose (see next Q/A). But do not worry, Jester is still a young and inexperienced RIO and will follow and require your orders, 100% of the time. Of course, we do recommend to try Multicrew, as the shared experience in the Tomcat, between a human pilot and RIO, is something special indeed. Q: Who and what is "JESTER"? A: JESTER is our RIO-AI. He is not an AI in the classic sense, but provides functionality that a human RIO would provide to the pilot, such as spotting, radar management, systems management, startup and shutdown, checklists, situational awareness calls, etc... He can be interacted with through a command rose, but can also be used with 3rd party software such as voice attack, etc... Not only is Jester meant to provide functionality for the Singleplayer environment for an else 2-seater aircraft, but also immersion and fun - we recorded over eleven thousand (!) voice lines for him, to provide many variations in his calls. Jester has human limitations (he can only see, where he looks at, can only do 1 task at a time in general, he needs to look at the appropriate panel to service it, he pushes the correct buttons, etc.), makes mistakes and even comments on your flying, as well as being aware of what situation the player is in, be it BFM, BVR, WVR, Air to Ground, Landing, Take Off, etc... and will act and behave accordingly. So he's not smart but not stupid either. -
You quote me specifically or it isn't directed at me either?

I see you haven't taken his advice to read with comprehension. You're foolish to think he took side of Razbam.

We have not lost any yet.

It works the same as on every other map. Either you destroy the objects with weapons during the mission or do it in ME creating triggers and zones for destruction.

Don't read too much into it. It wasn't supposed to be released at all.

Having issues with DCS core parking with the AMD ryzen 9950x3d CPU
draconus replied to RTS354's topic in General Bugs
9950X3D shows clear computational advantage but all the tests were GPU limited. For some reason with 9950X3D GPU times were a tiny bit higher thus the fps a tiny bit lower. It also shows that keeping the card and the same settings you'd get the same results with even weaker CPUs unless you get into very CPU hungry case. -
Will there be any updates to Nedava ?
draconus replied to Raviar's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
It's a good map. I can't find anything gamebraking apart from some AI problems with taxiing/landing. It's ok if it doesn't bother you but you can't unseen it since you notice it. Take a look: -
It's all been reported and is WIP afaik. If you have new info about specific units upload it there. Of course not 1 hour long tracks - make short mission showing the problem and save a 1 min. track instead. It's not only about target speed. It's also about angle tracking speed. 1M target flying straight at you can be easy target. Slow helicopter making close pass can be hard to hit with big gun. And why would you think Germans AA crews weren't trained enough during WWII? To be clear, again, I didn't say AI doesn't need fixing - I said it doesn't need total overhaul becuase all their limitation functions are already implemented - it just needs tuning for realism (range, speed of angle tracking, visor/detection limits...).
-
Pilots weren't happy about it IRL either. Take the drop tanks or play the appropriate mission.

I'd be glad if we get any update, like new night lighting or putting fat taxi lines on a diet. -
Cool, throw us some vid.

Oh, so you need 'Nam map because you can't play pretend using Caucasus or some other green map? Either it is just a game or we strive to make it realistic simulation. If it's about a Cold War depict it as it was, without fictional modern additions.

Should be just reported with a track here: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1186-ground-ai-bugs-non-combined-arms/ No need for AI overhaul to fix accuracy - it's part of current implementation and works fine for many units.
