No, AI uses SFM while players use AFM/PFM/EFM depending on aircraft: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/general/ It doesn't mean they are always better. Skilled player wins most of the time with AI. You can't rely on flying circles only. You can handicap AI by setting easier difficulty and making them heavier - easiest with the fuel load. If you use bombs or other stores make sure they are not allowed to jettison them.

So it's not a map problem. You should report it here: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/535-bugs-and-problems/

This is completely normal. It's not a console game developed with guaranteed 60fps in all situations. When you're down low at the airbase you see many high LOD objects and while you're up there you only see low LOD objects from afar. There are graphic options for a reason. Choose the settings that give you acceptable fps in the worst case scenario and keep it. You'll be satisfied most of the time but some missions can turn out to be even heavier on the performance. It's always a hard decision between eye-candy and fps. I'm of course all in for optimisations but you have to manage your expectations.

There're probably more weapons affected. Last time I tried Durandals on F-15E they practically drop at the ground spot you pulled the trigger at.

Yes, you can compare both radars and their level of simulation.

It isn't because you have much longer stick. If the enemy gets closer and you're not pressing then it's going to be hard. There were some AI bugs or deck crew bugs or MP bugs but in SP the Tomcat was always launching fine.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
draconus replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yes. The pylons' weights are taken into account internally in the FM but differences are not shown in ME when we remove pylons. Are we still talking about that huffer cart? -
ED said they may think about ground crew after finishing SC crew.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
draconus replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
That's the point with F-14. It was great times while it lasted. We got development, maintenance and even some wishes done (wished by users or HB themselves) until F-4 became a thing. No wonder users get frustrated like I or @JupiterJoe. They just didn't push you enough yet. But the Tomcat did use the ladder and huffer cart for the startup too. Also VW did redesign the Beetle in 90s. So why only for F-4, again? -
DCS Questions and Answers - January 2025
draconus replied to DigitalEngine's topic in Community News
If you think it's just the keys and clicks slapped on the FC3 Eagle then you're wrong. And most definitely not this summer, maybe '26, more probably '27. -
You can't trust the chaff alone. You have to also notch the missile (for ARH) or the aircraft (for SARH). Best is to stay out of the WEZ. Learning the RIO role is really good for understanding Tomcat's radar/WCS capabilities and limitations. If you can't launch at night or in Case III conditions you have to use "external lights switch". If not - we need more info or a track.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
draconus replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
1. Fair enough. Both A and B have a hot refueling procedure and right engine has to be shut down. This should be reflected in the ground crew operation and comms - "unable to comply" with right engine running. 2. As said overstressing and overweight is modeled. Can it be more detailed? Yes but hardly needed. What you ask for is rather in mission creator hands. Repair in DCS is already unrealistic process. 3. So it is modeled (in the FM). What the wish should be - make it show up in the ME. What kind of PC is that? You can't stop the DCS progress and development just because of that. At some point you'll be forced to upgrade anyway. -

I just asked questions because I'm not convinced or feel the reasons behind your wishes -

How to affect the deck crew to provide me to surtain CAT
draconus replied to RoboHackfeld's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Aircraft assigned "Takeoff from runway hot" in the mission editor will spawn on the catapult specified in the mission editor by the mission designer. From parking you will spawn depending on the deck configuration - parking spots taken by AI and static aircraft. All is in the Supercarrier manual and forum. -
This is already mature product and rather well maintained. We expect the devs to continue bug fixing and small additions.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
draconus replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You mean almost all 99% cases where both engines are running during AAR? What's the reason? Overstressing can break the wings or make them more prone to it in the next high G excursion. Overweight trap can break the gear or hook. What other penalties you want? Isn't it already modeled? -

The pod works just fine. Tested last night 4 GBU-12s, all on target. You have to be more specific. Test in SP first. Read post #2.
