  1. Are you using the Z axis for the jammer to start and stop jamming? Are you using the correct setting (SAM1, SAM2)? I only ask, because when I use the jammer - you can literally watch the incoming missile go "stupid" - in combination with countermeasures of course.... Cheers, Ziptie
  2. The ALQ-184 jammer pod works great on the A10C I / II. You still need to know what you are doing, if you are going to get up close and personal with SAMs. AA is not a problem, again if you know what you are doing. As others have stated - A10C's will have most SAM threats cleared by other aircraft in real life, apart from manpads or any "surprise" threats that have either moved into the AO - or been sneaky enough to avoid detection (rare to be fair). That being said, I've taken out many SA-10 sites and other "deadly" SAM threats without assistance. It's easier with a true SEAD flight accompanying you. The question(s) should be: Do you want to acquire a module that is exceptionally detailed in the systems, integration of those systems? Do you want to acquire a module that "can" take quite a bit of study, training, and practice of what you've learned in study and training - to use that major weapon system effectively? Do you want to acquire a module that is incredibly rewarding to fly, and a module that truly feels like you are flying the aircraft (lack of FBW)? If you answered yes to any of those three questions - I'd say you would be happy with your decision to purchase. If you answered yes to all of those questions - welcome to the early steps of becoming a Hog driver - a journey filled with many different types of mission. Cheers, Ziptie
  3. MUST LEAVE PARKING BRAKE ON UNTIL ALIGNMENT IS COMPLETED! 1. Once you have the left engine started (or both engines started): 2. Turn the INS rotary knob to CV (carrier) or GND (airfield). 3. On the HSI, press the OSB to box STD HDG (bottom row, 2nd from left or maybe 3rd). 4. Once the two lines lower center of the HSI read: OK and 0.5 5. Turn the INS rotary knob to IFA. Whether you choose to complete other steps of startup procedure, or whether you just do the steps above to see what you are needing to do, is up to you. 1:17 into the video below shows the OSB boxing STD HDG on the HSI. Disclaimer: I do not endorse the video, or the person who made it, nor is the procedure in which they do the startup correct - but it does show you what OSB to push for the STD HDG for alignment. Cheers, Ziptie
  4. In the main control binds for the F/A-18C (game or sim) - select the modifier tab on the bottom (think it is somewhat centralized), then actuate the paddle switch and see if it highlights as a modifier. The method the other user above mentioned should also verify that your paddle switch is still functioning. Swap your paddle switch and another function that you know works like weapon release or NWS. Perform test. I'd bet that the paddle switch is somehow bound as a modifier. Cheers, Ziptie
  5. If you had auto lase enabled in the weapon profile and also had a lase time input (left side of specific weapon profile sub page), it could state auto lase fail if you were out of parameters to facilitate the desired lase time. for example: if you were at 5,000 feet ASL and had 10 seconds input for desired lase time - it would give you that message, but the laser can still fire - just not for the full 10 second time input. Cheers, Ziptie
  6. Not really, I was clarifying that I am not a stalker - nothing about you - but glad we can agree that auto start is boring. Cheers, Ziptie
  7. Raven One. I haven't read the book, and really don't think I missed anything by playing the campaign first. The mission briefings have a lot of information regarding the current situation you are dealing with for each mission. That being said, I've ordered the book after flying the campaign - and will certainly fly the campaign again after reading the book. Cheers, Ziptie
  8. You can depress NWS twice to put the TGP into snowplow mode or you can box VVSLV on the FLIR page, which slaves the TGP to the (VVI) velocity vector indicator - as the member above suggested. Cheers, Ziptie
  9. Your post never says anything about using, or not using auto start. I was just stating that there is no need to add anything to any list of "things to remember" as during a start up procedure - part of it is doing a control sweep after the FCS bit test. Last thing that happens is enabling NWS. If you were saying that you've clarified whether you do or do not use auto start in another thread - I'm not a stalker and don't search every other thread you've posted in sir / ma'am. Cheers, Ziptie
  10. Thank you, just bound the two rotary switches to two 12 position rotary switches on my McLaren GT3 wheel. Works great and can't believe I didn't know about this prior. Big thanks again, twice you've helped me out with binding things I've wanted bound for a long time! Cheers, Ziptie
  11. Changed both laser codes, in DSMS and TGP? I assisted a couple pilots today with training in the A10CII and changed laser codes with successful employment of laser guided munitions, but I did not change to that specific laser code... Cheers, Ziptie
  12. Is it not possible to edit the mission in mission editor to equip an adequate loadout for the aircraft? Would also think that you could take a quick look at where the enemy ships are located - so you could have some kind of reference when flying the mission? I haven't personally tried the mission - only the instant action mission for Syria (which has it's own "issues"). Anyways, just a thought. Cheers, Ziptie
  13. Realistically, there are only 3 additional weapons to add to the list... 1. GBU-54 is classed as a "guided" and a "laser guided" bomb. 2. AGM 65L is classified as an "AG missile" which is laser guided. 3. APKS is classed currently within DCS as an "AG missile." It is laser guided and would fit in with the AGM-65L Not sure if you can just add those three new weapon systems into the PDF files that you attached - but I've never even seen those two attachments that you linked prior to reading your post. Cheers, Ziptie
  14. I had good effect with the APKS on two rotary wing aircraft today, when assisting a couple pilots in the A10CII. Haven't attempted using APKS on fixed wing aircraft as of yet. Cheers, Ziptie
  15. To be fair, if you are manually starting the aircraft - the nosewheel steering isn't enabled until you enable it - so nothing to add to your checklist. If you are using auto start feature, might be a different story. I can't remember what is included with the auto start procedure as I haven't done one in years. Cheers, Ziptie
  16. During a flight control check - as the person above your post stated. You don't want to scrub the front tires with the nose gear rotating during the rudder sweep. Also, if you are using the Hornet from an airbase, rather than on the carrier - you want to disengage the nosewheel steering during takeoff, after you reached the appropriate number of knots for your loadout & prevailing weather conditions. To the OP, my paddle switch is also functioning as intended. Wondering if somehow it was been bound as a modifier for another module - or somehow been cleared from the F18 "Sim" control binding section - or the "Game" control binding section, if that option is checked for you and you fly in that type. Cheers, Ziptie
  17. Make sure you aren’t in the “game” key binds section. There have been numerous issues with this lately. As the others have stated - works as it should for me. Cheers, Ziptie
  18. Print screen key is the stock key bind to take a screen shot. In regards to your “bigger issue” - as another said, make sure you are in the “real” key bind section and not the “game” key bind section. Cheers, Ziptie
  19. So the three positions for the rotary knob are just labeled individually and are able to be bound? I searched and didn’t find them - but would be thrilled if I just missed them... Cheers, Ziptie
  20. And if you are flying in a mission, where you are landing at a different location that you departed from - if you have the landing air field coordinates entered as a waypoint, make sure to update your "home plate" via the FPAS page by selecting the waypoint number, via the OSB pushbutton(s) on the bottom right of the FPAS page. If you don't have the coordinates entered in the HSI, it's a good idea to do so for the most accurate FPAS functionality. Cheers, Ziptie
  21. Mine seems to work quite accurately, VR user here. I'd pose the same question as Emmy has above. Cheers, Ziptie
  22. Was nice to see a few new faces in the mission today. More progress made in liberating Syrian territory - some stout challenges faced during today's operations, but it was nice to see some solid coordination of tasking efforts. Can certainly say I appreciated having the CAP on station while performing CAS operations on the current coastal air field ground units in my Hog. Great continued work from you Pravus, regarding the available options within the missions. It was great to have an additional AI F/A-18C CAP escort into the AO, then complimented by the player CAP that was on station. Really enjoy being able to spend credits that have been earned within the mission, for assisting the overall mission goals. Looking forward to the next op with our current members, and any potential newcomers - along with whatever new additions/tools you might come up with. Your mission has really made any other mission exceptionally "predictable" and much less fun for me - which really is a good thing as your mission is so unique, challenging and rewarding. Cheers, Ziptie
  23. Also, I just copied your post - to the wish list section - might be better suited there, potentially. Cheers, Ziptie
  24. Copying the link below, to the wish list section - as it might be better suited here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=289106 Credit to OP Cheers, Ziptie
