[REPORTED]AI wingman can guide multiple laser guided weapons
Ziptie replied to bojangles_25's topic in Bugs and Problems
Are they using a buddy lase for one and self lasing for the other? I have done that somewhat regularly, but not sure what mission you were doing where you witnessed the AI doing it. Example, I capture a buddy lase with my maverick - rifle. Already have my TGP on the next target I've spotted, ripple two APKS and enable my laser. 3 weapons in the air, on two different targets... I don't fly SP with AI very often, so can't say that I've noticed AI doing it. If they are, I'd guess that would be how they are doing it. Cheers, Ziptie -
You can also have the HUD as SOI, ensure the TDC is set to the velocity vector (done by CHAS), TMSFL, CHFL to slave TGP and other sensors to it (which would be at the velocity vector)... Cheers, Ziptie

Currently, you either need to return the TGP to STBY, then back to AG/AA mode. Alternatively you can go directly to AA mode and then back to AG mode if you would rather not cycle to STBY. There is another way that is better, in my opinion and from trying both in combat AO's. HMCS SOI, make sure TDC is caged for HMCS, DMSRL. Now the TGP is looking where you just were (most likely at a target). You can also have the HUD as SOI, ensure the TDC is set to the velocity vector (done by CHAS), TMSFL, CHFL to slave TGP and other sensors to it (which would be at the velocity vector). When they implement the B/S option via OSB - you can have another option. But the previous method of returning the TGP to bore sight was incorrect for real world operation. Cheers, Ziptie

See below - and great question regarding the "new" forums. So far, not a fan. Seems many things are dropped for notifications for me as well. You can do that. HMCS SOI, make sure TDC is caged for HMCS, DMSRL. Done. Otherwise, have the TGP bore sighted already - put the nose towards the target, TGP SOI, when the TGP LOS indicator is over the target area, TMSFS or "bump" the HOTAS slew. When they implement the B/S option via OSB - you can have another option. But the previous method of returning the TGP to bore sight was incorrect for real world operation. Cheers, Ziptie

Correct, very similar "tool." A similar thing can be done with the TGP, if bore sighted and TGP SOI - you can utilize TMSFS to ground stabilize it. That being said, with the "new" method to bore sight the TGP, the TDC with HUD SOI is the method I prefer (and preferred with the original A10C as well). Glad it helped clarify, and hope it helps the OP as well. Cheers, Ziptie

This happens in the Raven One campaign - so you could set this up for your mission(s) when you initially enter the airframe, as it happens in the aforementioned campgain. Cheers, Ziptie

Think of it like this: You roll in, but the velocity vector over desired target, TMS forward short. It can be more accurate than slewing the TDC. Cheers, Ziptie

Interesting, when I disengage autopilot - there is no chime/tone or audible speech from Betty. Wonder why you get a sound and I don't? Only when I engage autopilot, do I get the audible chime/tone. Cheers, Ziptie

[CAN NOT REPRODUCE]HMCS and uncommanded stick inputs
Ziptie replied to Magnate's topic in Bugs and Problems
Negative, haven't experienced this. Using CV1 with Warthog HOTAS. Cheers, Ziptie -
AGM-64D Firing & MAV Display in MFCD
Ziptie replied to Captain Orso's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
You can only carry maverick's on station 3 and station 9 - so don't worry, you wont discover that. Also, as another stated - with MAV SOI you can CHAS (china hat aft short / missile reject) to step to a different missile (so if you are carrying 2 on each side, after firing the first maverick, CHAS once should cycle to the other station so you can have one on each station rather than two on one after firing your second maverick). Cheers, Ziptie -
Paddle shift no longer disengages nose wheel steering??
Ziptie replied to CommandT's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Glad you got it sorted and thanks for letting us know. Could assist others in the future if they encounter the same problem. Cheers, Ziptie -
JTAC calling abort can be due to some of the following, but not limited to: Attack heading outside of given attack parameters Not updating your progress, requesting next steps (IP, CALLING CONTACT, TALLY, CALLING IN HOT, LASER ON, SPOT, ETC) It can be a confusing process early on when using a JTAC, especially when there are several steps that need to be performed and verified when doing so. When I was first learning to use a JTAC - I was guilty of not listening to all the specifics that they would issue. I'd recommend either writing down what the JTAC is telling you, in terms of specifics for the attack run. Don't be afraid to use the radio menu to request the information again, in the game there is typically no penalty to speak of by doing this. In real life, it could be life or death if you have TIC. The following link might prove helpful to you: http://www.users.on.net/~jase_ash/ht...tos/styled-10/ NOTE: I am not affiliated with, nor do I endorse the above link for anything other than reference. +1. Wish they'd simulate the basket being retracted back towards the tanker after you've topped off or called an abort on refueling (whichever is performed first). Cheers, Ziptie

I tried the Touch controllers once - it was enough of an experience for me to never try them again. No way they can compete with a good HOTAS. Happy to keep using my TMWH. I don't use a deadzone either, used to use a curve but also removed that - prefer the 1:1. Found that I was "losing" some performance with having curves. Cheers, Ziptie

After firing one maverick, deselect the station that it just fired from and it will keep the other station selected - the next weapon release will be from the opposite side - then repeat. That is what I do if I carry two mavericks on each station, but I rarely do that anymore. That should do the trick for you. Cheers, Ziptie

In addition to what the member above has suggested - ensure you have a good idea of where to start searching - either by reference of a waypoint, or a landmark that you can search "from." Also, don't forget about the Mk I's (eyeballs). Think of searching with the targeting pod as looking through a soda straw. Sure, you might benefit from some serious magnification of the ground, but it's a small piece of ground - especially if you are too close or have narrow field of view / zoomed in. Like anything, practice makes you more efficient. People like to say practice makes you perfect - but no one is ever perfect. If you use Open Beta, would be happy to have you join our Discord server and do some training ops. Then once you are feeling more comfortable and gaining lethality - you could join in our mission if you choose to do so. Cheers, Ziptie

In conjunction with countermeasures it will certainly have a greater chance of defeating the incoming threat - but it does work without deploying countermeasures as well. Best option is #1, both. I take the low altitude tactic most of the time when entering an area with SAM threats, as it's much easier to drive them into the ground or use terrain to mask and defeat them. But everyone has their own style, and you do you sir. Cheers, Ziptie

AGM-64D Firing & MAV Display in MFCD
Ziptie replied to Captain Orso's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
If you are using a loadout with only a single maverick on station 3 and station 9, then correct - it will automatically select the maverick on the other station. There could be a situation where that doesn't happen, i.e AGM65G on station 3 and AGM65L on station 9. I don't often load different maverick types in a loadout, typically carry the same maverick on each station. If you are taking a loadout with a TER on station 3 and station 9 - it will deplete all stores from one station before selecting the next if I recall correctly (90% sure about that) even if you have the same maverick type loaded on both TER's - so that is why you are seeing the smoke being emitted from the rocket motor of the recently launched store, via the seeker head of the next active store. Apologies, as I don't ever take more than 2 mavericks, loaded individually on station 3 and station 9. Cheers, Ziptie -
Ah, copy that sir. Cheers, Ziptie

Isn't there a SKIM flight profile, along with LOW/MED/HIGH? Been quite a bit since I've loaded an AGM84D on the Hornet, and been a bit since I've flown the Hornet, to be fair (thanks to the A10CII) - but I am quite sure there is a SKIM flight profile... Cheers, Ziptie
-
I don't turn it on until the missile fires. Cheers, Ziptie

No worries - just as a heads up - I tested your scenario, using 1588 (to deconflict with another laser operating in the area on 1688) and had zero issues (no autolase fail message) with the GBU-12. Good to see you didn't have any issue your last attempt either. Cheers, Ziptie
-
^^ this ^^ is where I suspect your issue is coming from OP. As this member stated, ensure that you are selecting the GBU-12 either from the DSMS PROF page or via master mode select button on the HOTAS to CCRP, then ensuring your HUD is SOI and then using DMS left/right to select the GBU-12 profile. Cheers, Ziptie

I'm not having an issue with point track when firing the laser. Just flew for 4 hours yesterday doing weapons and systems practice and had well over 50 successful point tracks, with laser spots and weapon employments (on moving and stationary targets). I'd say upload a video and maybe we can see something with your attack runs... Cheers, Ziptie
