+1. Great in VR, no issues outside the “to be expected” drop in visibility when heading is towards the sun. Cheers, Ziptie

XSAF - Training and Check rides not necessary
Ziptie replied to PravusJSB's topic in Squadron Recruiting
I can also vouch for this mission, not another one like it, or even close for that matter. All stores, fuel and airframes are limited - which requires you to treat it more seriously. That is a good thing. Promotes team work, coordination of tasking efforts. One of a kind AI, that acts like a player would rather than the stock boxed “not intelligent AI.” Short for “they can and will set traps for you.” Carrier ops, air base ops, fixed wing and rotary wing. Too many things you can do to put it all into text really. Now the mission is at Syria, after original Caucasus mission has been dialed. Great way to fly at a new map! Do yourselves a favor and give it a try. NOTE: due to the nature of this mission, it is not a single participant venture, you must have multiple pilots flying. Cheers, Ziptie -
It’s been addressed already, in numerous posts and been reported to the team, along with other issues regarding TAD. Cheers, Ziptie

A-10c II Hotas functions Chart for kneeboard
Ziptie replied to VaporFlow's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
It seems to slave TGP to STPT for me (CHAL). Cheers, Ziptie -
With TGP on station 2, I maintained an altitude hold orbit for approximately 15 minutes while buddy lasing multiple targets for other A10CII's in my flight, as well as a Hornet. My range was approximately 5-8nm from targets, while successfully maintaining a non masking profile of the pod and laser. It was close a few times to encountering a masking situation, but a slight correction of roll kept it from happening. I always have the pod mounted on station 2, with station 1 having either one or two aim9m's and no more than one maverick on station 3 - just for a setup reference. Cheers, Ziptie

Question regarding the coolie switch logic
Ziptie replied to nickos86's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
It takes less than 0.5 seconds, so it really doesn’t take forever. I also change SOI frequently, it’s all about having a flow. Cheers, Ziptie -
Question regarding the coolie switch logic
Ziptie replied to nickos86's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
I have zero inconsistencies with coolie switch forward/up for HUD SOI. With the addition of the HMCS, it can be easy to make a mistake of making HMCS SOI with an additional coolie switch forward/up I suppose. Personally, the CSLL / CSRL to make L/R MFD SOI has also never been an issue either. You can just “say” SOI in your head when CSLL / CSRL and be confident that the depressed time will be long enough to make SOI rather than accidentally switching what is being displayed. Or you can always simply depress the OSB button for TGP/MAV/TAD to make SOI again - if coolie switch is really that much of a dislike for the operator. Different strokes for different folks. Cheers, Ziptie -
Oh, I saw the aspect ratio of 1.7777777777778 and figured you were. My mistake. Cheers, Ziptie

Question regarding the coolie switch logic
Ziptie replied to nickos86's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Also, if you coolie switch aft short - it flips display layouts of MFDs, so if you need to switch left on the right MFD - rather than cycling coolie switch right three times, you can coolie switch aft, coolie switch left, then have the screen you desired. “It’s a feel thing.” Cheers, Ziptie -
Question regarding the coolie switch logic
Ziptie replied to nickos86's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
The logic of coolie long is quite simple - to make SOI of left/right screen quickly to operate sensor without removing your (hand) from HOTAS. I use coolie switch aft all the time to switch left and right MFD to maintain hand on stick and operate the MFD (what used to be on right MFD, which is typically TGP). Then coolie switch aft again to revert back (most likely to MAV screen) employ weapons. Also, DMSAS never switches screens on the MFD’s for A10C. Cheers, Ziptie -
[REPORTED EARLIER] Release cue missing for CBU-105?
Ziptie replied to andy_j_white's topic in Bugs and Problems
If it isn’t the normal ASL with unwinding pipper, look for ASL with range staple on the left side of the hud for release. It will show man release above CBU-105 on the left bottom of HUD. Cheers, Ziptie -
Have you tried using the INTEN rocker switch on the UFC to increase the brightness? If so, or if it's already in the brightest setting, have you tried flipping the HUD to the night setting (located on the armament panel), which changes the HUD to an orange display? See this thread - a member seems to give location of a file that you might be interested in, if above doesn't help you.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=288329 Cheers, Ziptie

Unable to map the Right MCFD Controls
Ziptie replied to Raisuli's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I CANNOT thank you enough!!!!! So thrilled with this, just followed your steps above - successfully bound the master arm, laser arm, and gun pac/arm to the rockers on the left MFD. So much more helpful, rather than having to use the mouse to click the switch(es) while in combat AO. Thank you again! Cheers, Ziptie -
What VR are you using, and what are your system specs please? Cheers, Ziptie

I've created a thread in the wish list section, and also linked your thread in that original post - to see about getting yours into the wish list section - while referencing my attempt to get them to add the flashlight in the A10CI a few years ago. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4514592#post4514592 Cheers, Ziptie

In cockpit flashlight please As the title states, please add an in cockpit flashlight. Shocked it wasn't included really. I also put this in the wish list section for the A10CI, but that had to have been at least two years ago - so was hoping it was overlooked due to the incoming/plans for the A10CII. Thinking that must not have been the case now. This thread was merely intended to be a place holder, as another person made a thread about this in the general A10CII section, which I have linked below, if a moderator wants/decides to merge together: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=288267 Cheers, Ziptie

Wags explains that the TGP must be on the right MFD in his video, along with the flight manual explaining this. Some little details can be overlooked / misheard / misinterpreted, so don't beat yourself up or try too much additional testing to troubleshoot - as it is correct behavior to only display TGP image from RMFD and nothing to do with which of the two stations the pod is fitted to. Cheers, Ziptie

Try this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312553/ Even the original A10C training for systems would do you good. The majority of the muscle memory is retained, with subtle changes/additions for the most part. You've had plenty of feedback and input from others, so I won't start breaking anything down here for you. In my opinion, it's best to be in the aircraft and learning each system separately and as complete as you can - rather than small little pieces. And without disservice to those who take the time to make YouTube videos for tutorials - it is difficult to find one that is the right pace for most people, or the right professionalism. Good luck, hope you stick with it - as the A10CI, along with the A10CII - are the most "complete" aircraft in DCS and up there at the sharp end with the most rewarding to fly and operate systems. Cheers, Ziptie
-
Also you should request to have this moved to the wishlist section by a moderator, or it will become buried here in the general section.. My .02 Cheers, Ziptie

I’ve had this in the wishlist section of the A10CI or at least two years - sadly it’s never made it... +1 please add this. Gotta be pretty easy compared to what you’ve achieved with this and other aircraft I’d guess. Cheers, Ziptie

No worries, happy something helped you. Apologies for the mislabeling of the switch - going from memory without having a direct reference to the switch name - but knew it was close enough to point someone in the correct direction. INTEN (short for intensity) certainly makes more sense than INTER. Cheers, Ziptie

Unable to map the Right MCFD Controls
Ziptie replied to Raisuli's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Apologies, but this kind of stuff is a bit outside my normal comfort zone to mess with, so I am quite unfamiliar with specifics. Are you saying that in the F16 MFD 1.lua - I would copy a line from the default.lua file, that relates to the master arm and the gun pac/gun arm switches, and then I’d be able to map those rocker switches to those two desired binds? I’d love to do that, and appreciate the clarification. Cheers, Ziptie -
+1 Cheers, Ziptie

It isn’t an issue for me at all, VR user, so possibly a 2D issue? Certainly at times, the HUD can become more difficult to read, like flying toward the sun for example, but that is to be expected and the other 3 aircraft I fly are also affected in a similar way. Cheers, Ziptie
