@zu... the desert actually helps mask the heat of the helo first the heat is disapated by the rotors cooling it faster and its harder for a ir lock-in the helo.

When will 2.5.5. stable get the 2.5.6. update?
BlacleyCole replied to wernst's topic in Installation Problems
Update to stable version I just checked to see when the last update to the stable version was back in December of 2019 at this time that’s 2 1/2 months. -
How good are the red flag campaigns for sale or the A-10 training campaigns?
-
You the hard or fixed target location but not the resistance location unless intel has them under surveillance then you may know where they were last seen the thing to do to make your mission more realistic is to place the same unit several places and use a random spawn for each if you only think one unit of that type may be in the area use a conditional statement to see if one of the earlier units have spawn if so then make it so the rest can’t. Do that for each resistance unit in the area. That way there is some surprises for you.

I prefer having the manuals on my iPad vs the computer so I just need to remember to copy it to my Dropbox folder next time I update dcs

In the desert it’s hard to lock on a helo with a misleading and the helo guns are longer ranging than the jets so in a fight the helo has a tremendous advantage

Go on a open server or better yet go on discord or TeamSpeak and test them there once they work there you’re almost home with srs

IMO ED needs to complete the mods it has started, work on the core items mentioned above before releasing another mod maybe two to three mods I work at one time. How many do we have now? 5 or six ? Plus fix the huey before redoing the ka-50.

A training mission would emphasize on one task with a couple of secondary tasks. Ie mission to fly to the range bomb primary target. It could be a command post and the secondary targets might be the sa defensive system and the communications system then return to base. There would be procedures for refueling before and or after the attack and for aa defense then the tasks of startup, taxing, and takeoff getting to cruise altitude then the inGress to the target and egress out from the target return to base, the landing and taxing to parking spot, parking, shutdown etc.

The additional software and hardware has been covered throughly. The one thing that I learned the hard way was your skills need to meet the basic aircraft and systems . So master all the training missions and any tutorials that you can find on the aircraft and it’s systems. If you can operate the aircraft and it’s systems without having to pause you should be golden the online squadron will teach you when to use the systems. The mission. I suggest you find a squadron that is recruiting pilots in the airframe your flying and they will teach you the correct procedures. Have fun flying multiplayer

What's the best anti torque pedals for a heli sim these days?
BlacleyCole replied to d0ppler's topic in DCS: UH-1H
The vkb pedals are somewhat different than most the others. You press down instead of forward or sliding them..I’ve tried the older Tm combat pedals from the 90s, saitek’s combat pedals, vkb Mikva, and the Tm tpr pendulum pedals I prefer the later the best -
I do but not that great of one let me try and get one once everything is sorta fix. It’s needing some attention right now
-
Go look at how winning did the forward box or a couple of other 45 degree angle so you can reach most of it controls from the throttle

I have the tpr pedals from thrustmaster you might to do the dampners mod and remove the springs that is what I’m using -
With them pulling .6 back to .5 I don’t think they ment for this to be seen to many bugs in the .6 release from what I’ve read

Run dcs in motor mode at a lower setting so you can learn by doing when I got an hour in the real f-16 sim in 95-96. The visual was green wireframe from my recollection so the training can be done without all the flash of the realistic visual. So if your computer will run dcs in monitor mode or if possible vr without the high settings as long as you get 40-45 FPS in vr you should be golden for learning the aircraft and fighter fundamentals.
