TM HOTAS Cougar + TM RCS - Rudder axis problems while input
BlacleyCole replied to TheCabal's topic in Thrustmaster
Two things come to mind cleaning the potentiometer for a short term fix and replacing it for a long term fix using a hall sensor or even trying Rel4y’s magnetic sensor if it Will pop in to place. He puts the magnet where the shaft of the potentiometer went the mounts the sensor part where the base of the potentiometer was. I used them in both my Thrustmaster Cougar throttle and stick. If the vkb rudder pedals start acting up I’ll see if his setup will work I hope it does. -

Looking for HOTAS equip recommendations

My question is how much money you have to spend and what you want for it. You can buy a cheap setup that gives you nothing but trouble. Or you can buy a middle of the pack setup that works for you but doesn’t feel right. Or you buy a quality setup that works and feels good. So if you only sim once a month then it doesn’t make much since to go above the setup that works, just like you only play golf now and then a pawn shop set of clubs is all you need if you play more then add a quality putter and driver once you on the Lynch twice a week but som quality irons and woods. The same holds true for simmimg. Once a month a working stick, throttle and pedals place on and under your desk is appropriate but if you start simming once a week you need to relocate those to a better more realistic position to aid in the immersion. Once you sim twice a week you need better gear more realistic placements and a decision on the next path you plan on taking virtual or multi monitor/projectors and panels or buttons boxes. I went multi monitor before vr systems became affordable. But switched to vr after that a couple years back. I have a pit to mount stuff to but most of the plan is going virtual so it will swap from plane to plane to helicopter to car to dozer to train without mush morethatswapping this or that. -

I’m wondering if the jetseat and buttkicker would work well together. I’m thinking of upgrading my jet seat to a custom one that actually fits my seat in the pit and keeping the original for back control set when I travel in my Motorhome.
-
I like the idea of the vkb although I doubt they are realistic you pi\usb down instead of out. Very responsive and fit almost anywhere. I use mine for the back control group a vkb gladiator, vkb rudder pedals and thrustmaster twcs throttle.

Probably in mist or the default lua script

What’s the best tutorial on the mission editor
BlacleyCole replied to BlacleyCole's topic in Mission Editor Tutorials
Ok here his what I have on my mind 2 things. 1) a ai copilot for something like the huey that you can run the -10 checklist, instruct to tune radios, reconfigurations weapons or countermeasures basically do things so you don’t have to divert attention from flying. 2) ai instructor that helps train you on the tasks at hand. Corrects you on the controller and gives feedback on the flight and on some tasks be able to evaluate on certain tasks and lastly on the ai I- demo a task, then help the students complete the task then we set to evaluate the task. One more item have the ai pilot fly the mission while the human pilot is in the cockpit I’m learning ctld currently with the help of someone who good at it. -
Is it a saitek or thrustmaster hotas?
-
Some gel pads and a jet seat with that would be unbelievable but who has room for that got to be mounted to the floor since the pivot point are off to the left . Also what does it take to operate that machine I doubt the same pc used for sim.

What’s the best tutorial on the mission editor
BlacleyCole replied to BlacleyCole's topic in Mission Editor Tutorials
I’m aware of that the ideas are looking for are way more advanced like the video introductions on some campaigns. Orsimulating a is or cp with ai. Setting missions up with triggers are simple compared to the items I’m looking for help on. Besides the training missions that I desire to see I have little interests in combat missions at this time. -
I can’t speak for others but I have two things I need to be able to overcome first. 1) complete my non motion setup to my likings. 2) room for a motion isn’t available in my current fifth wheel trailer that I reside in. Headroom as well as a footprint area. This one might work so that got me interested. How many of you would like one and be willing to pay for one or has skill/abilities to help produce them?
