Do we know if the wipers in the Apache will actually have a wipe the rain away effect, its been done in so many car racing sims for a long time and a couple of other flight sims, at the moment its looks pretty bad watching them move when static and its raining on the glass.

Found after I changed to the map view in VR, now its minimized the FPS counter looks much better.
-
I dont see that arrow in VR

Id like to know also how to improve the visibility in PG its draw distance is terrible, even on the max setting the pop is very annoying, power lines and transmission towers literally pop up 100 feet away when flying a helicopter low and mostly the horizon is dead flat and lifeless until about the 15km mark when high-rises start to pop into view

So far 2.8 seems ok not the big change I was expecting going to version 2.8, iy feels very much like 2.7 but with moving clouds, but the quality of life improvement I really don't like is the new FPS counter, we have gone from a very inobtrusive FPS counter that was transparent in the top corner to a big box now that blocks out a portion of your vision if you keep it on, it doesn't offer anything over the old style and is a step backwards, all its doing is following a trend like fpsVR. I wish we had a choice to use either or.

investigating Large performance drop in VR after updating to 2.8
Hotdognz replied to some1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Why is 2.7 sharper, the image looks way better than 2.8 -
My VR report, once i set it all back to where my VR settings were prior to release (Save 3) my VR experience was no different except I had a little more headroom on FPS, when I started DCS it had defaulted to a very high preset which cut my FPS down in VR. AS always shadows knocked some FPS from VR so they are all off again, it would be nice to know what VR optimization was made and in what areas so I could adjust accordingly and experimnet in those areas.

Some patch notes would be nice to browse over and discuss while we wait

reported CPG VR view is off center to the L side
Hotdognz replied to Hotdognz's topic in Bugs and Problems
These are the values I edited in the D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AH-64D-views.lua If some one can find the value that moves the head right we can fix this issue ourselves until ED fix it, we can make an OVGME version so we can re use it after each update. Search the file for [2] = {-- player slot 2 (CPG) CockpitLocalPoint = {1.784 + 1.300, 0.992 - 0.45, -0.0125}, 992 = edit this moves the viewdown 1.784 = 1.300 = edit this moves the view up and forward -0.0125 = edit this by increasing value view goes Left (decreasing doesnt go right) Cant find a move right value when editing and trying stuff -
If you use OVGME that will help with what you asked.

reported CPG VR view is off center to the L side
Hotdognz replied to Hotdognz's topic in Bugs and Problems
I tried editing the .lua file with the view settings, I could get the head to move left, up and down but could not find the line to move it to the right. -
All the panels they show in the pictures they previewed are panels opened by the ground crew and show them opened as such, this is my point unless we are getting the ability to walk around the plane on the ground and open them to look into them or we are going to have ground crew doing pre start up process, then I cant see the point in using a 3d artists man hrs creating this for a module, its not like we are flying DCSS as a FS2020 type sim where this stuff is added eye candy as there is nothing else other than flying. My question would be why do it, what does it give us in a combat simulator. ???, it offers us nothing as far as game play goes, and there are many other things that need updating 3D wise

What they choose to model confuses me now more that ever with ED and what they do with the recourses, BS3 with loads of details yet low polygon ground assets we have had for years, I really believe that the PM's for ED have no idea on where to focus the 3D artist teams with what the user base would like, I bet if they ran some sort of polls about this stuff no one would care if 3d models behind panels that we never see would be important to most of the DCS players, we all hear how limited the ED resources are but are they being used in the right place, I dont belive so to give me the best game experience. But granted the BS3 model looks exceptional from the pics and small video of it shown.

Black Shark 3 is a day 1 buy for me as its my most flown helicopter in DCS over its life and my 10 years with the brand and don't mind these upgrade paths. But I do agree with Lace here , why bother spending thousands of hours 3D modeling internal parts of the KA50 that no one will look at or maybe will once or twice. I would rather the ED 3D modelers work go into the low poly assets DCS has in the game that I can see everyday as I play in this virtual battle field, there are plenty of them that are still needing a major update, I could understand if it was in FS2020 as they are a different target audience, but in DCS I don't see any value in having this detail. Still it looks great and im looking forward to getting it.

Unsure if this is a bug but sitting in the front seat letting George do they flying the information panel shows that the SAS is saturated all the time.

So do we get 2.8 this week as a post said this week we present 2.8, of was the presentation the 0.8 second video
-
Thanks just went and had a look, wow stunning, those videos would have been worth posting on the other ED media outlets, not everyone reads every sub forum here
-
A agree with you, any 3rd party module should adhere to the ED damage model that ED have so carefully put in place over the last 2 years, this should be part of the 3rd party devlopers presentation and acceptance by ED, its not like we pay any less for a 3rd party plane vs an ED plane. I watch the weather vid that @NineLineteased on Friday for the weather, is that the best ED could do to showcase this 0.08 seconds and looked like it had been recorded of a phone , I would have thought something as good as this is going to be a bit more of a teaser was needed.

Wow great news the weather system, it looks great in the photos, even though they are not new pics its great to hear its coming soon :), already loved the new clouds when they come out and they add so much to missions, when they are moving it will add so much more. LA-7 well I can give that a miss as it really doesn't have a theater to fly in, and I prefer my warbirds to be flown in a proper theater against proper time line AI, but the model looks nice and I'm sure plenty will enjoy it.
