  1. how do you turn head tracking off in VR, or do you mean alter the view in 2D and save and then come back in the VR view and it use the same saved position ??
  2. No HP G2 VR the default position is off center to the LH side, you can of course alter it with the Cockpit Camera keys and then used Save camera angles but it needs to be done ever time you enter the bird. The VR view is centered on the TEDAC which is left of the center of the seat and does not site in the center of the Apache, the default VR is worng and needs moving, I use VR so I can move my head and im happy to move l to look at the TEDAC.
  3. Has anyone else noticed the default Apache CPG view is left of center of his seat, it seems its been done to put the view in front of the TEDAC, I have played around with the view.lua but can only find up/down fwd/back adjustments I have moved the default Pilot and CPG view back a bit but would like to move it right more, FYI this is the lines in the lua if anyone can find the L & R adjustments that would be great.
  4. Anyone else noticed that the CPG seat view in VR is centered to the L side and you are not sitting in the seat centered, I have also moved the view to center it and hit cockpit save angle which works but doesn't save the view for next time and I have to repeat the changes. I have added a picture of what I see in VR showing it off to the L Side. Is there any chance of getting the VR CPG view corrected to the center of the seat. Cheers
  5. Hi Bailey can you explain some more sorry as im not following what you mean by saying you bind the buttons on the axis and include the thumbstick, also the % range has me confused too.
  6. Fail point, the solution is as follows I didnt realize I had to add a grip to the base here, it was blank.
  7. Its ok I found the solution over at the Virpil forums, and I didn't need to buy a Virpil grip
  8. Hi all I have just attached my Warthog stick to a CM 2 base and set it up in the Virpil software as [SR4021] Thustmaster grip / DIR SR 4201 All buttons test ok except for 23/24 which are set as encoders on the mode, this is on the 4 way castle hat the one below the trim. I have tried to set them as Normal and save but it always goes back to encoder, DCS is not recognizing these buttons at all. What am i doing wrong ??, how do i get them to be buttons 23/24 Cheers
  9. Its a funny thing, I just got a Virpril CM3 last week, replaced my Warthog throttle (5 years no issues), today after 5 days of continued use I moved back to the Warthog throttle, why you ask, the Virpril was beautifully made the throttle motion was lovely, the indent system was very smart, but the button and hat positions sucked, they are all over the place, you have to move your hand around so much on the Virpil to access the hats and out of way buttons and rotaries it was just overload on the workload when flying, the Warthog whilst less buttons is so easy easy to access every thing especially by your thumb 1x5 was hat, brake switch, china hat and boat switch all within easy reach, on the Virpil I had the 5 wat hat with large rotary by my thumb and then had to move my hand back to reach the 2 other 5 way hats, plus single push button, I could reach the 2 other puch buttons on t hat side ok though. Plus I found I got really bad hand and wrist fatigue with the Virpil, something I never got on the Warthog, after flying a few hrs I had had enough and also walked away with tired hands, this never happened with the Warthog so im back with it.
  10. Guys what Virpil CM3 indent are you using for the F16 and F18, i need to find one from the many available that would also suit flying the Apache, I dont want to use the finger lifts just a push through one. Cheers
  11. I wouldn't throw any money at Combine Arms 2 considering the lack of any real development for CA in the last 3 years (in AI routines), id need to see some significant improvement to Ai routines, its use in VR for the CA weapon sights. As others have said here the whole ground war immersion needs to go up a lot of notches now the Apache has dropped as its by far the most popular helicopter and really is wasted on what DCS has as a ground war ATM.
  12. Thanks Bailey, see my other post in here a couple hrs ago I'm asking for tips and suggestions, be very happy for you to share with me your tips
  13. Coming from a Wathog I had a lot of conformity across my modules, I'm looking to do the same with the CM3, so I'm here for suggestions from long term users? . Mainly fly the F16, F18, FC2000, Hind, KA50, Gazelle, Apache, P47, Mossie, Spitfire. Across these modules id like to have all the same, (obviously some difference on the helis) flaps, gear, airbrakes, what do you use. Comms is sorted so im good there So far i have turned buttons T1, T2, T3, T4 in to up and down as separate buttons so I have more options on those T5, T6, T7 what are you using those for ?? The red button under the throttle ??, rear button on the throttle (in a slightly awkward place) The rotary on the LH side and the rotary on the RH side. Very open to suggestions Cheers

  14. I just found out you cant do it, struggling what to use these keys for in DCS, i will ask the wider group for suggestions.
  15. Can the CM3 throttle switch's T5, T6, T7 be setup to be a 3 way switch up/middle/down ??, just getting my head around the Virpil software and made the T3 & T4 as a 2 way up/down, wasn't sure about doing 3 way switched and if it was supported. Cheers
  16. Ha ha me bad I read it as doesnt :)....sorry
  17. Just some new ground AI routines would be nice instead of the turkey shoot that it is currently.
  18. I will check with the current OB this weekend and test with the modules I have and repost back.
  19. According to the Virpil web site the T50-CM2 base does support the Warthog stick if I choose to use it
  20. Player only id say.
  21. Its pretty rubbish's if I'm honest, I got one a few months as it sounded ok from reports I read here, tried it in VR in DCS and the experience was quite bad, about the coolest thing was being able to give the finger with a Nomex glove, save your money until its developed more for DCS is that ever happens.
  22. Even a quick update so we can play from the front seat would be welcome instead of the pilots position, the back seats the boring bit in this bird in MP when your a single player without a human CPG :), all the funs in the front seat and with the sub par ground AI your not really too worried about how hi George would be flying you as the AI isn't really a threat in most MP coop missions.
  23. I work in making manuals for lots of products to help people work out how to do stuff using a lot of pictures and graphics, to me the George menu is a little bit inconsistent and some change whilst we have chance would be great to see. First I would like to suggest a separate key for the short left which currently changes Georges mode to say RCtrl A or Q or something like that, ill explain why below Current in the FLT mode and H_B mode we have FLT mode Short FWD = Increase Airspeed Long FWD = Increase Altitude Short BAK = Decrease Airspeed Long Back + Decrease Altitude Now switch to H_B mode and these commands for altitude and airspeed are reversed. Short FWD = AGL Altitude +10ft Long FWD = Translate Forward Short BAK = AGL Altitude -10ft+ Long Back = Translate Backwards I would like to suggest the below change to the H-B mode to keep the press consistent with the key press, this way all short keys are used for speed and momentum and all long keys are used for altitude settings, this will aid with memory management in using these keys. Short FWD = Translate FWD Long FWD = AGL Altitude +10ft Short BAK = Translate Backwards Long Back = AGL Altitude -10ft The next suggest would be to take out the Short Right command to change mode, really the WASD should be left to give George a command and a separate key could be used to change the mode it would save mistakes being made. Now in FLT, H-B and CMBT mode we could have FLT mode Short L & R = Designate turn L and R (using the correct keys) H-B mode Short L & R = Designate turn L or R (using the correct keys) CMBT Mode Short L & R = Fly Dir Route The reason why I'm suggesting those ones is many a time I have been flying along and trying to turn left or looking left thinking I'm pressing the corresponding key only to realize I have put George in a different mode as I have hit short L The other option is to make the change mode to a long press (less easier to press) and put all the George command that current sit in the long press mode in the short press option. Cheers Hotdognz
  24. You may have been in the wrong mode as each mode changes what George does and its easy to get into the wrong mode as it use short left to change it, you would need to be in FLT mode and long press up (W key) The way the interface for George works is the issue I think and a change would help out every one, if they had made the change so George mode was on a separate key to WASD and just kept the short/long presses for telling him what to do as far as going left and right and up and down it would stop us entering the wrong mode, many a time I have been in FLT mode and hit short L for designate turn when looking left as that is where I wanted to go buts its short R for going left or right in that mode, its a bit confusing and could be easily fixed.
