Im happy to wait for a better Apache release, I have all the helicopters except the Mi28, with the Apache on the way I feel a lot of DCS players this is going to be their first helicopter and foray into a war on the ground, will the Apache bring updates to the ground AI as it is pretty lacking in what they can and cannot do as far as AI routing, dispersal and other stuff, plenty of DCS players are going to see this once they enter the ground war, I know it was mentioned at some point last year but i sure how its on the high priority list ?? Cheers

Hi all does anyone have a labels.lua that just has a red dot and a blue dot, Im running a WW2 server and the guys who play on it are just wanting a simple labels option for the mission. I have used the search but its not bringing up any good results. Cheers

I wouldn't call Flaprt bitter, a lot of what he said has some truths in it, he is expresing his opion after coming back to DCS with a new rig and spending lots of $$$ for it On the best rig possible today DCS VR is still a constant battle for FPS between the different maps and planes with Marianas being the most abysmal FPS in VR of any map DCS has. However if you want to compromise DCS visuals and tweak you can find suitable setting until the next patch when that circus starts again.

It used to be fun to take off in this bird and also a little challenging getting the trim right to take off, now its a pig to take off and I have stopped flying it, even the guy we fly with who's family business has restored one recently in NZ said its a lot hard than in it should be according to the pilots that have flown theirs also the center of gravity is quite tail heavy. -
I measured the draw distance for low to extreme on buildings rendering in from of my plane in the Instant start---F18--Syria--Free flight I used active pause on my plane just as it crossed the coast each time and used the F10 map view and DCS ruler to measure what I could see in front of me using the same reference point on the ground which was visible at each view distance setting. Low is about 1-1.5nmnm High is about 2.5-3nm Extreme is 5-6nm The view distance even at extreme is very low for a flight sim, if you zoom in you get more distance from objects with no slow down in FPS, id like to see the scale move considerably so extreme is at least 20-30nm in front of me. I think they adjusted the view distance some time back in 2020/2021 so to improve performance from DCS for VR users (of which im one)

I have no interest in turning my graphics down for 1 map (yes I know I can make a custom preset) that is poorly optimized, I like my VR settings high in DCS and its why I paid good money for hardwear to do so, using the Marianas map on my system with lower graphics would be like running a Ferrari on 6 cylinders, it aint happening

Even the latest patch didn't improve FPS on this map, I came back for a look after leaving it alone for so long due to its VR issues, I'm running a i9 1050k, 3090, 64gb ram and fairly high settings in DCS for VR, all other maps 45FPS with motion reprojection on, DCS PD 0.8 Steam SS 85% Free flight F16 Marianas 26 FPS over the main base, jumps to around 30-35FPS around the island, id hate to add any AI in a mission. My rig is fully optimized for VR through all the main VR guides, all other maps are smooth as and very playable with heavy AI units in play, im glad it was free.

It seems to me even under Extreme view distance that its set to about 5-6NM for the viewing distance, on the low settings its set about 1nm distance, anything above 5-6NM draws in as you go forward. If you Zoom in you can see further with no impact on FPS, this to me seem a little low for extreme setting and id prefer steps of 3-5 NM with the top setting about 20NM viewing so I dont have the pop up.

When using the Voice chat DCS sound levels drop lower for in game sounds

We have 4 pilots trying DCS VOIP 3 or us have changed this setting to do nothing and 1 already has the Do Nothing for the sound volume set on his machine as mentioned here, it doesn't work for us our volume is still dropping when in DCS using there new VOIP. -
It does and doesnt, it worked for me, my mate had it all ready set and it didnt work for him

We have the same issue, 2 players with exact same audio settings for there HP G2 and setup the same in DCS audio settings. 1 can be heard and hear others, the other can be seen transmitting but we cant hear him and he doesn't hear us Discord and SRS is fine for them. -

Checked in there it didn't even show up there which makes me think the mod has not hooked into DCS some how as I also dont get the A4 icon, I have all the files in the correct place as I have had the mod install for many months now with no issues except this version -

Hi I have downloaded the new version of the A4E mod uninstalled the old mod (RC1) and deleted the config files mentioned, in the readme, the new A4 mod does not show up in DCS when I boot it up at all now, this the first time I have seen this with the A4 The mod has been installed to the following directory as directed C:\Users\Hotdognz\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\MODS\Aircraft\A-4E-C Any ideas ?? Just retried the previous version A4-E RC1 and it works fine -
Im flying a mission on a friends server andf all our F16s start with this symbol when we switch on the JHMCS, we have no idea what its for or why we dont have the std cross we normally see, we cant find any way to get back to the std cross sight, this seems to be stopping us from using the JHMCS for setting mark points and SPIs Planes are hot started with the default AA loadout, it doesn't change no matter the loadout and even if we change to NVGs and them back to the JHMCS Anyone able to help us out Cheers and happy new year

Hi Im having trouble trying to hand off targets to the Mav D from the TGP, when the Mav is slaved to the TGP and it can be moved but it seems to be off by quite a few meters top the LH side compared to where Im the TGP is being moved, hence when I lock a target with the TGP the mav reticule is no where near the target for the hand off, I have watched a number of Youtube videos on it and cant see what I have wrong, anyone have an ideas what im doing wrong. F16 is set to hot start. Cheers

The new radio and voice chat features dont seem to work in VR, I have the key bound to bring up the menu and it works fin in 2D mode but when I try it in VR the key binding wont bring the menu up at all. Anyone else seen this, I didnt see it in the patch notes. Cheers
