F-14A of 70's Vs F-14A of 90's Vs F-14A Iranian
jojyrocks replied to Satarosa's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Iranian F-14A or the Classic. Upgraded is too close the one we have. -
Ah! yes...I forgot about that. It was only added to export customers. But the Brits, I highly doubt they needed bombing as it was just geared as short sprint interceptor being its primary role. Would love to Lightning F-6 or the export F.53. Seems like F.53 had more features. Hmm it will be fun to see if its ever considered...maybe somewhere around 2027.:smartass: At least it has an internal cannon or gun pack. Missiles of such times are told to be unreliable...
-
G and S model would be good. But C Model was the one that actually saw action.
-
It does. 2X30mm ADEN cannons. But no bombs. It was designed as a PURE short sprint interceptor.
-
Lightning can come later...not that fond of air to air refueling, not that skilled. Its a pain! Lightning is a PURE short sprint interceptor. Too specialized and specific. So...Tornado or Jaguar...whichever is easier to acquire and develop for Euro jets. Maybe we could expect the Starfighter in 2025 and onwards:thumbup:

F-104 still has more FUN factor compared to the British Lightning. F-104 has at least secondary ground attack ability...and more cannon rounds for auxiliary combat use, in-case the missiles fail. F-104 is certainly marketable and has set a lot of records too during its times. I rather see a Tornado or SEPECAT Jaguar if we want a Euro jet. I'm sure the latter is more doable.
-
Well...it is possible. There is no big secrecy surrounding it. Its an interesting jet. But realistically we could expect it around 2025 and beyond. There are many other projects on the pipeline so far.

Suggestion for a simple aircraft: J-5
jojyrocks replied to Aries144's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
The J-8 makes more sense than what we already have of those Mig 19. J-5 adds nothing...no market or profit, only very few might would even think of buying those. But J-8 could have more market and profit. Even the later variant of J-7 could also have profits. -
Whichever Tornado aircraft is possible (Barring the Air defense version). Any of those GR series or IDS variants would be good. But I doubt Heatblur has plans about this...They've been hinting more on that slow A-6 intruder. I much prefer the latter being just an AI. But seeing as its the one on the possible roadmap. Maybe we can expect the Tornado...whichever variant it is, during 2024 or 25.

Maybe they are holding out for the new DCS Engine update like upcoming Vulkan feature.

I believe Russia has phased out (somewhere around 2015) the semi active radar R-27 before entering the Syria campaign and now started using the R-77-1 missile and most of their Sukhois down to the 27 has been upgraded to include R-77 missiles. Russia was intentionally delaying coz they were not expecting to fight. But on Syria, they are taking it in, just in case. Even if there wont be any air to air fights, but just in case... USA and its allies had NEVER fought countries that has air network like AWACS so far.
-
Wished ED would add in the NAVAL Phantom along with the Air force version they are developing as well like Heatblur did with the F-14 having two versions. A version of F-14 should be on the way... The Phantoms have most certainly seen MANY theaters. Its already delayed as it is...might as well add in Naval version, we can wait...right?
-
A4 Skyhawk has many operators and has seen many theaters as well, especially in Middle east with Israel. If the Syria map comes, then A4 Skyhawks addition would be good. Would love to see the A4F or E version. Whichever is possible.

+1 T-45 will certainly have more sales and profit compared to T-2 Buckeye and it sound more fun given its figures. Since the Hawk T1A has been scuttled...then maybe this could fill the gap and this is a derivative of the Hawk series. But license could become an issue. Realistic possibility is the T-2 Buckeye. But...I wouldn't mind T-2 Buckeye...carrier landings would be fun with a non modernized HUD.

It seems everyone voted for yes. I guess the purists will buy. But for me...I am into combat types. Be it attack, air to air or just plain multi role. But this...is an odd slow-mo plane that's primarily meant for air to air refueling and Submarine search hunting. I'd rather have DCS spend time on a much marketable plane that offers something a bit more engaging like ground attack, air to air or even a multi role than into this VERY specific craft thats a 4 crew plane which can only do air to air refuel and Submarine search hunt and secondary ground attack. This plane is much better remaining as a mere AI. I'm pretty sure I'll be passing this even if its made and on sale. This isn't marketable or even profitable for DCS and the developers. Only a few purist simmers would buy this. A6 is more marketable than this and it would be VERY tedious for the developers as well.

Would rather prefer a fresh module of F-18F Rhino...than the same ol of what we already have with having twin seat. However, an AI model will be welcome..

Would you want ANY heavy aircraft modules for DCS?
jojyrocks replied to Wing's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Indeed...5 crew C-130 will be a cinch...never-mind the gunship that has extra some to work the guns. I wonder how long will it take considering such a complex aircraft? An AI model would be much better... -

jojyrocks replied to Wing's topic in DCS Core Wish List
There is the latest Microsoft 2020 coming in to cater for huge flying planes. I think DCS is better of with combat centric planes as the brand itself suggest DCS - Digital combat simulator. We have only small maps so huge planes are just not suited for DCS maps...for now. I have no idea why most voted for more huge plane...when we'd rather see some fast combat jets. It already takes a huge amount of work and time to just make a fighter jet module....and they are asking for a even more complex giant planes?! I'd rather have huge planes as AI models. -

I think they did mention the desire of making the A-6. I can see that since it aligns well with the super-carrier module and that their desire of making the A-6 after the AI model pretty much shows why it got voted than the much faster, modern ground pounder Tornado which they barely mentioned. The A-6 does not have modern HUD to to effectively use dumb bombs with precision. Its only good for planned targets. Not targets on the fly...especially with dumb bombs. There are no options of effectively dealing with secondary air to air (like helos or transport) or some soft ground targets on the fly, coz no cannon. The sidewinders can miss easily if they effectively drop flares. The only fun factor of A-6 is just pure ground pounding (planned ground pounding) and carrier landing. Its gonna be hard to hit ground target with dumb bombs that are not on the planned list. The Tornado seems to be not in the plans... -

jojyrocks replied to Leviathan667's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I am aware that the A-6 has sidewinders...but it can miss. Having an inbuilt cannon always helps to go secondary, no countermeasure against that. A-7 can do that, its got cannon and air to air, fits with the supercarrier module. Its also slightly faster and more nimble than A-6. A-7 was the first production aircraft to feature a true Heads Up Display (more informative HUD and good for precision strikes). I guess all chose for A-6 only coz it was already told to be in the works or hinted at that. So more possibility of that happening. Still its got no fun factor than A-7 for sure...and certainly not the much faster swing wing Tornado.:smilewink: -

OOps! My apologies...I had momentarily forgotten or goofed up about that:hehe::hehe:. Will correct it. The Tornado is also a ground pounder a very fast one at that and can go backup air to air. Twin engine and twin seat and swing wing. Modern HUD for precision ground pounding. Not like the slow and sluggish A-6. Hell...even the A-7 is better than A-6 with its modern HUD, precision ground pounder and backup air to air, fit well with the Super carrier module. Its even a bit more nimble and a tad bit more faster than the Slow-mo A-6. Hmm..I guess the development is already underway about A-6. I thought it was only updation on the AI model. -

jojyrocks replied to Leviathan667's topic in Heatblur Simulations
For some reason most chose the ground pounder only focus A-6 which is pretty slow and less maneuverable. Maybe its the Super-carrier module or the possibility of Heatblur doing the A-6 is more than hoping for a Tornado.:noexpression: If there was a choice between A-7 Corsair and the A-6. I would have chose the A-7 hands down as its got more fun factor with backup weapon like cannons, a bit more speed and a big more modern head up display for accurate ground weapons employment. I guess the Panavia Tornado has less chance as a module . Even though its got the value for money feel as its got backup weapons like cannon, air to air self defense missiles like Sidewinder and its similar. Also the swing wing feature and the its got better fun performance factor. -

I'm all up for the Panavia Tornado. Its practically multirole...at least in a rough sense as it got a cannon armament as backup weapon. The A-6 only excitement is the carrier landing part. But aside from that, its just a ground pounder focus and a slow one at that. If there was a choice between Panavia Tornado and an A-6. I'd definitely go for the Tornado hands down! Its a much faster jet, swing wing, dual seat, backup weapon in case you come against slow air to air targets. -
With the delay on the F-4 module. Hope they add the Navy version too. Pretty sure it'd sell like hot cakes.
-
Since the F-4 is delayed to some 2021 plus. I would really like it if they add in the Navy version too.
