That’s curious. I’ve only had a blowout once that I can remember and that was the result of a truly horrible landing. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky. In what circumstances does this most frequently occur?

From today's newsletter:

Because the -ER (-ET) entered service. The -AE did not.

F-5E FC - Constant crashes to desktop
Ironhand replied to Cassowary's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
When having issues such as these, it’s always an excellent idea to disable any mods you’re running, even if they would seem to have nothing to do with the problem. It’s amazing how often a mod for one aircraft will screw up another. -
Su-33, able to retract nose gear while deployed on ground
Ironhand replied to EricJ's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Now I know what the difference is. In my screenshot, the engines are idling. In yours, you hadn’t spooled up yet. So there was insufficient hydraulics to raise the mains. -

Both radars seem ok. Both pick up a test Su-27 at 76.5 km give or take a fraction. This was SP.

“A” summer? Not this one? Sorry. Saw that and had to ask…

The map’s a hoot in the MiG-29, too.

Piper L-4A "Grasshopper" (J3 Cub)

+1 Looking forward to this. -
+1 It would be best to release it as a new payware map, not an update of the existing map. I love “flying” in that part of the world. It’s got a bit of everything: sea, shoreline, mountains, steppes, cities and towns with amazing architecture…

Optical/thermal tracking? Some generation of the system have it. Not sure what’s modeled in the sim. It’s been awhile since I’ve paid close attention. -
Hmmm…MiG-29…

Excellent idea.

Damn. Wish I had known this a few weeks ago. I’d have made the drive. But, now, the rest of the weekend is taken up with life.

Updated lighting would be most welcome.

Are you sure about that? I don't own the map itself but, in the his download, "field_eu_03.splatmap.tif.dds", field_eu_03.splatmap.tif.dds", and "field_eu_03.splatmap.tif.dds" have dates of 5/31, 6/1, and 6/1 respectively. The map was released on, what?, May 21?

I believe this has already been reported. You might want to leave a comment there, too.

I would love to see it updated. And, yes, I would pay for it, if it were updated with architectural features that actually exist and not just cookie cutter buildings. Batumi, for instance, would be a sight to behold.

My focus was simply on the “training” without the “lone wolf combat” aspect. It would make learning any aircraft more enjoyable just to be doing it as part of a group instead of alone. As far as rankings are concerned, rankings (of a sort) already exist as part of the logbook based on combat sorties, etc. as do awards (medals). ED would need to create something for the training side of the sim. But, even without them, @TheBiggerBass’s idea has merit.

Excellent! Glad you got it sorted out. Enjoy your flights.

Excellent idea. This would be a great way to introduce people to the online experience without them feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.

Not in the FC3 version. In the coming FF version? Perhaps.
