  1. User files, https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ edit- pipped at the post
  2. User of the CV1 and now the Reverb. VR is better than any 2D experience, period. You are in the aircraft and part of the world in VR, it`s just a totally different level of immersion. You can later add force feedback via motors in your seat etc to increase the immersion again. As for buying a HMD, the Reverb is the resolution king ,but there is a Reverb 2 due out this year so I`d wait for that. Obviously you need a beefy system and DCS optimization is poor atm for the cpu, which is important for VR.
  3. I'd like a Ferrari but I can't afford one, but if they knocked 90% of the price I'd buy one tomorrow. Therefore because Ferrari haven't lost the plot and introduced such a sale they have lost my business. The few quid I would have given them they will have to manage without, which I'm sure they will. The concept of pay and reward is pretty self explanatory. Gibberish
  4. No rush Mikhail. Everything in due course. When you are ready to proceed at your convenience will suffice for my needs.
  5. It's just released and you want it for 1/2 price. Try living on bread and water for a week before suggesting the devs should follow you down that route. ..... and don't compare it to the Viper, or better still just get the Viper.
  6. Hi Mikhail, I will purchase one as soon as you are ready to proceed. PM sent.
  7. Personally I going for a new pc build in the first half of 2021, and will run my current 2080 until the inevitable 3080 super drops :music_whistling: or AMD gets its new architecture out the door. I have been running my current trusty (CPU/MB) setup since 2014, and my now near 7yr old 4790k has held up remarkably well (VR-hp Reverb) with the help of some overclocking. The next 12 months should see some big gains with the release of Zen 3 CPUs from AMD, and Intel will finally have dropped the 14nm horse that they have flogged to death for far too many years. This should bring big IPC gains for much less power (and heat) over the stopgap i10`s they have just released. They should also fully support pci 4.0 with the next gen CPUs, as AMD currently does. All we need now is for ED to properly optimise DCS, otherwise it will be akin to the usual persistent dilemma of the golf ball and the garden hose in the context of suction.
  8. Well since it's not game specific, it would be foolish of ED not to implement such a performance boost for its users, especially for VR. This use of AI is the future of gaming and it would be best to be ahead of the curve rather than constantly chasing it.
  9. Due to the use of a poor imitation, I think it's safe to say he's not Irish.
  10. I just like pushing buttons and blowing crap up from a great height. If I want to contemplate the meaning of life and my place in the Universe I defer from DCS. .....oh, and flying in VR is a massive bonus.
  11. Using a crap cover version is the biggest sacrilege, at least use the original version. As for it been a anti-war song and its suitability for the video in question. I don't believe ED are expecting us to expend the mental bandwidth required for the purpose of a in depth philosophical conversation in relation to the matter. They just want to entice us to open our wallets and purchase the next releases, which I have no issue with. Such is the way the game works.
  12. Good song but in no way totemic in Ireland. There are many other traditional and older songs that occupy that space. Delores was a local here who you'd often meet in the shop or out walking the road near her home with her kids. No one ever took any notice, even when she and the lads were filling stadiums in America. One of the great Irish bands to break the States.
  13. You can add the British army and their loyalist paramilitary proxies into that mix as well, as their numerous murders will testify to same. Such is the dirty nature of colonial conflicts and their history in Ireland.
  14. I think fps will likely take a hit in VR with the added detail, as it already drops dramatically in tandem with the number of assets in the area. Hence I find the busy campaigns pretty much a no no in VR even with the 2080. Vulkan and multithreaded support is the only answer and hopefully that arrives sooner rather than later. Needless to say I still bought the SC dlc.
  15. Yeah, trying to operate and develop a game to facilitate customers with little to no money/spending power sounds like a genius business plan. You should give it a try yourself and let us know how it feels to survive on fresh air.
  16. With the 50% discount, $25 dollars is peanuts for the work involved. Unless people expect devs to work for free or are willing to pay a subscription service. I can`t see how anyone could whinge in relation to this. At that price I kept my 'air miles' for a later purchase.
  17. Free Will. You can choose not to buy said module, while I am quiet happy to use my choice by paying for said module. What you don't get to do, is rant about my option of doing so, just as I can't rant about your decision not to do likewise. See you are creating a situation to rant about where none exists. Just take a deep breath and let everyone else make their own choice, and if at some point in the future you wish to take advantage of the devs work you can pony up and pay for the privilege like the rest of us instead of expecting it for nothing. I presume you have to clothe and feed yourself just like the devs have to, and should be able to appreciate the logic and necessity of work for reward.
  18. I run a 2080 standard with my Reverb w/o issue, well that`s apart from DCS`s poor use of multi-threaded cpu`s. That`s where the issue is. In a busy environment the most powerful GPU will by strangled by the software`s poor use of modern cpu`s. So in answer to your question if it`s good enough for the Reverb than the rift s will be a non issue.
  19. Amazon France has the TM F-18 stick at 158.68 euro atm.
  20. Depends on what modules you already own. If you haven't got the Harrier yet spend your money on that instead. In saying that, the F5 is easily worth the sale price. Despite having all modules, I often find myself flying and ground pounding in the F5.
  21. I can concur with the above. Great top level work from the lads at RAZBAM. I really like the Mirage and Harrier modules. Really interesting aircraft from RAZBAM. The MiG-19 also is a bit of a special beast. More of the same gents, the F-15 and Mirage 2000-5 will be an instant buy for me.
  22. F-5 is the best starter, easy to learn and fun to fly. The Mirage is another very good option, very good A\A.
  23. Nice mod, I may give it a go with my pedals. The steering damper brought back memories of heady day's of tank slappers, and the resulting rush of adrenaline :).
  24. I run with no reprojection on the Reverb with a 2080. So long as it's 45fps or over then I'm good. 90fps would be great and it's sometimes possible but not often. Reprojection brings ghosting, so no thanks.
  25. I'd like an F-4 or the Su-33, but at this stage further modules are becoming a bit pointless until we have the wherewithal to fully exploit them, such as a dynamic campaign, period maps (vietnam\Korea), and a realistic damage model. vulkan and proper VR optimisation should be top priority.
