  1. +1 virtual rep for OP. Just sayin :music_whistling:
  2. Mine works! Spoke too soon. The aoftware runs though
  3. You could rip off the Mudspike system, it works well ;)
  4. Just one other point that occurred to me. New player/ forum members will see rep and be more inclined to follow any guidance or tips they see posted. This forum is full of duff information and without some reference to others views new folk will be hard pressed to garner legit help. All they will see is post counts which mean diddlysquat
  5. I tried the latest drivers yesterday. No issues with the rift at all.
  6. Most of my rep points where awarded for helping people and writing guides. I am a bit miffed TBH that the rep system has been pulled. I was never aware of abuse of the rep system. Perhaps you could enlighten us as to the specific reasons behind the descision
  7. See what the SSD does for your system before tinkering furthur you will be pleasantly surprised :)
  8. I dropped mine and smashed the screen but I loved it, cheap cheerful and ideal for watching movies in bed and reading kindle without disturbing my better half ;)
  9. I have seen posts about green fog, may be related to your problem. Personally I have no issues so I guess it could be driver related or something
  10. We have a Ju88 in game now? Just checked in Mission Editor, we have not got the Ju88 in game at present. If your running mods then there is no point asking in the official forums. Ask the modder or make sure your not asking about another game entirely
  11. First thing to check is conflicting software. Having asus AI duite, EZ update and Ccleaner in the tool tray gave me regular freezes/FPS drop. Very noticeable in VR. Kill any unwanted/needed services before gaming and see if it helps :)
  12. Keep it to run a server mate, you know you have always wanted too ;)
  13. You have the option of sticking with 1.5.8 iirc https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/stable/ So although your unable to use 2.5 you should still have some enjoyment from the old stable version. No reason to give up on DCS ;)
  14. My bad. I had an original Bell 47 installed in open beta which of course is 2.5 obviously caused a conflict. All good now thanks mate
  15. This is the version I am trying to get working Hawkeye I will check in case I borked something :)
  16. Don't skimp on the power supply :book:
  17. Red hi I went down the route of 8600k and I have no regrets. 2.5 runs well/excellent with my system and although a 1080Ti may give better performance I am yet to be convinced The trouble with an upgrade of this vintage is as you point out the DDR4 Ram and the Mobo to put it all in. For some initial savings you could look at the 8400 and get 8Gb Ram to start. I had to run 8Gb ram when I first built this system due to faulty DIMMS and it ran DCS well although when I eventually got the other stick running you could tell the difference but not so much it would be a major impediment to gaming. After looking/reading etc I found the Prime A to be best board for the money. It has all the components of premium boards and a decent I/O spec. Some boards remove the mid-board USB 3 headers and lack features on the rear I/O. Gone are the days of 10 USB ports on the back  I too hate this aura stuff. I have a closed case and LED's interfere with watching movies on PC sat on the sofa:mad: Good luck with your choices and sift through all the info folks have posted because some is downright erroneous :music_whistling:
  18. Good luck with your machine. Let us know how it runs :)
  19. Yes Vsync will lock your FPS to the monitor refresh rate. It should make things smoother. RE your CPU usage. What is the GPU usage at the same time? I run about 60-80% on the main DCS core but the other cores are working too up to 60% which is why people believe DCS is now using more than 2 cores. My GPU usage is 98% Below you can see mine with a 4.9 O/C
  20. Its called Vsync. It will never go above the refresh rate of your monitor presumably you have Vsync enabled on one machine and not on the other, which really begs the question are all you settings missaligned. Its hard to troubleshoot using different settings on different machines
  21. Yeah unfortunately the 2.5 install is @100Gb +/- shame you can't upgrade the m2 to 500Gb
  22. It was around 2.0 IIRC the clouds where totally borked and any clouds killed fps to an unflyable level even in 2d. Lets hope its just a small thing they fixed already and will be dealt with. Because yeah clouds and late/early light is phenomenal :) Oh and my post about 2xMSAA working is only tested in rift. in 2d I can have everything maxxed out and still get great frames. I thought the MSAA problem was confined to VR and not normal gaming. BTW whats the story about the tile effect I see now in NTTR ?
