I don't get flashing. I also normally lift my headset onto my forehead to slurp coffee or roll a smoke while stuff loads. Shut your eyes and count to 60 if it's so bad ;)

I have just tested MSAA x2 and it seems to give less of a performance hit than before the hotfix. People may want to check and confirm this good news :)

I did a quick test jumping into vehicles. The JTAC feature works quite nicely in VR now, apart from FLIR for some reason. I am quite excited about it as it looks a lot nicer now in game at ground level :)

Hi Exorcet, since I upgraded and got a nice clock on the new CPU the 1080 operates at up to 99%. Simplest way to see is using the performance monitor launched from the task manager. It will give you a nice simple overview of whats going on with your system. Using the rift I have it set on the right side of my monitor and take a peek from time to time. If you have a 2nd monitor you can use it. Alternatively Speedfan freeware will record any values you select on a live graph so you can check back after your gaming session. Any questions please ask, there are never stupid questions :thumbup: EDIT: I attached a screen showing the MSI afterburner software. See the GPU is almost maxxed out with an O/C on all cores of 4.9 Ghz. The RAM and Pagefile usage is there along with the temps and load of each core

I dropped my PD to 1.3 added MSAA x2 and kept my AF to X16. Looking promising in the limited testing time. I can't wear out the new puppy, never walked as far for years :)

My PC was a lot cheaper than 2000$ and runs in 2d 1920x1200 @180 fps without V sync And the coffee lake i5 and i7 are both Hex core. Of which DCS seems to like a lot :) Play around on PC part picker https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ And don't skimp on your PSU :thumbup:

Good, I was going to suggest reinstalling all the mobo/intel software and possibly update BIOS. W10 seems rather good about changing hardware, apart from the activation:doh:

TBH I have found so much other stuff to do in 2.5 that checking the IPD settings has taken a back seat. Maybe I am one of the fortunate one's but I have had to do very little to the settings to make it look gorgeous and now all I want to do is fly ;)

I love it all, Winter has real snow, Autumn looks superb and I am enjoying spring too. All my modules are running really well and I am as happy as can be. Well worth the wait :)

I know the GUI is not sexy like the lighting and explosions but it is really slick looking now and setting a nice standard for the rest of the content. The DCS banner on the loading screen is particularly striking. Oh and to see the one MP browser is just perfect. Thanks ED :thumbup:

I jumped straight in with the rift and found it was struggling a wee bit. Turned the shadows back to flat and was good to go. Without ASW I was hitting 70's with lots of sky and water but 45 was the sweetspot. My PD is 1.5 I have differed shading and cockpit illumination on, 16 x AF no MSAA most other settings on high and no heat blur Happy tweaking :) Also I found stuff running in the task tray was causing stuuters and FPS drops. Ccleaner and asus software where the culprits. Exit AI suite, EZ update and anything else that is running and may cause problems. Oh and if you have'nt yet run Oculus as administrator and when you start DCS it will run the rift without the overhead of oculus software
