Is open source secure, is open source safe, just remember its not for everyone and the risk exposure this can bring. Also once you start open source you also create an environment that people can exploit game mechanics. Not Good.
-
PS Genuinely no offence meant - was just making the point lets get the aircraft systems working before cosmetics that do not affect the performance of the aircraft for tasking.

I knew it was a SP post, as i said, if engaged in flying the sim in complex environments, not against easy AI then as i said you won't be that bothered about the VR pilot but would be bothered about actual issues that prevent bombs on target, first pass, aka the point of a combat simulator. As i always say, get the basics right of the aircraft, then put the pretty bits on top. It's ridiculous to wish cosmetic aspects over the simulation systems of the aircraft, hence why i was saying if that is your thing maybe try something that looks pretty and focuses on looking good not being a combat simulator .

I'm not poor, and i'm not mc Scrooge, but ...
Hawkeye_UK replied to Csgo GE oh yeah's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Just remember alot of people, especially Open Beta and MP use stand alone rather than messing around with Steam. I have Steam but would never consider running DCS through it, why bring in extra software to run in the background when not required, makes zero sense. -
OK so as a work around, as a long time ago i had the same issues re VR and trying to hunt the space key, use Voice Attack. I upgraded to the pay version (IMHO best "module" for DCS ever if in VR) but the free trail version you get 20 free commands and the ability to try it out. It is fantastic, don't bother with Viacomm if you do upgrade as super easy to make own commands and you learn them that way, i personally found that better. So going back to your post when it pops up in a training mission etc i just use to say "continue" and it would auto press the space bar function for me, super useful.

Guys if your genuinely saying that a VR pilot is more important than systems working correctly and bug fixes so you can actually fly the aircraft and utilise weapons then perhaps you have missed the point of this game. Digital "Combat" Simulator I'm guessing you guys just play SP or Pve MP but in competitive MP with PVP and human controlled ground vehicles, aka simulating combat in testing weather conditions and night time trust me the lack of a VR pilot is the last thing you even think about. Perhaps check out war thunder.

No, no, no..... Why do so many people think that a subscription model is a savour to the current problems. It's naive. The problems are communication, poor dev and build organisation and structure (using SVN) and a dev team that isn't diverse in location and currently have no internal competition. Having a monthly subscription, doesn't provide cashflow security either as it allows players to dip in and out as they please, aka when things go wrong. Imagine how many subscriptions would have been cancelled in the last 2 months since 2.5.6, or in the last few weeks. It also provide's less security for third party dev teams. Do you not think they have thought this through. Your $5-£10 a month subscription that you raised ranges for an annual cost of $60 to $120 dollars. At the lower end of the spectrum that's not even one module that a player would buy, ED release's quite a few modules per year, of which many players would spend more money. Need to think through idea's before posting bad ones plus its a non starter for large sectors of the community.

VR Pilot should come last - get the systems and aircraft finished first, ridiculous to be even chasing this when basics need to be completed, such as TDC slew which has just been bottomed out finally i believe. But cockpit click-ability and interaction along with MFD night time and brightness and contrast controls take precedence over a VR pilot along with sub pages that need to be completed. (PS - and i only fly VR)

It it helps you understand further for you guys they are using SVN.......

@decoy He's an idea - Razbam start acknowledging support bugs and issues raised on their existing modules, oh and resolving them. Let's start a new poll of what your customers actually want in terms of sorting out the modules you already have and actually reply to customers that have taken their time to provide testing for you and at least have the common courtesy to acknowledge them. Absolute joke regarding bringing out additional modules, lets have a reality check considering you struggle to support let alone complete the existing two released (some issues reported and 2 years still outstanding).

Is RAZBAM or ED reading this section or the Bugs section?
Hawkeye_UK replied to eddyimac's topic in AV-8B N/A
Let not divert the OP's post and point which is about communication. It is not negative or "trolling" in what i'm about to state. Razbam's communication with the community is disgusting when it comes to even acknowledging a fault in THEIR software, aka customers doing part of their job for them re testing for free and they cannot even be bothered to acknowledge the forum or discord or the person's effort to help their product. I cannot understand how they can be so far removed from reality they clearly lack a COO/CEO with any ability as the community manager would have been replaced along time ago if it was my company, plus i would have issued statements myself. If you remember last summer there was a brewing resentment with ED along the longstanding players - what happened, they had to improve their communication. Yes there are lot of problems still, especially with the bugs but their communication has improved, because it had to. If you really want anything to happen then need to start putting pressure on ED to sort out one of their third party suppliers because they really do need the proverbial rocket firing up their rear ends. Its a job for Kate to pick up and deal with as Razbam are currently, and have been for some time an absolute shambles. It makes me laugh when people start going on about the F15e or Mig23 - Are you seriously going to support a company that to all extents doesn't care about even the basics of communication. It's a point of principle. I'm calling it early but i can feel another Hawk debacle coming on..... -
Since the last Open Beta update, the F10 spectre has returned. So for example, tac command or Left Control F10 whilst in flight can ruin FPS. Its almost like its still somehow trying to run that in the background and doesn't clear it or kill the process. Very draining and a main issue of FPS loss, noticed it on Caucasus, PG and the New Channel Map. Only play in VR, not that it makes a difference.
-
Guys just to be clear again - this is not an operational procedure issue with the player. Have many, many hours in the Harrier and know it inside out systems wise. This is a new bug mavericks are not always tracking the laser code, circa 50% success rate at best. Not working correctly since the last OB patch update. Good to see Razbam replying or reading the customer feedback that we provide, not one comment yet lol.
-
I've heard it also during start up on JF17, most annoying
-
agree with you lol it does break the immersion lol , oh and when you tilt your head and the clouds roll. But in terms of gameplay the sync is vital across clients
-
So let me guess you play SP only and / or haven't realised whats important in terms of tactical play as you only play against AI. The question you should be asking is not what pretty new clouds and weather is going to be here but when are they going to be synchronised across clients so that Player A and Player B see the exact same things. To say that WW2 simulation of either the P47 or Channel Map is "totally unnecessary" is so ignorant its insulting. At this very hour 76 years ago young men where airborne and dropping into Normandy and other's climbing into landing craft to storm the beaches in a few hours time to secure the world a freedom that you now live, fully knowing it was highly likely the last dawn they would see. Your attitude is disgusting and selfish.
-
AKG's are regularly intercepted by gepards and other ground based systems. Are you sure you mean the AKG as the ship version is the AK. Then again only play on a server that uses expert settings for all AI.

pretty much every module regarding panel warning lights or notification systems. How it got released god alone knows....
-
I've had issues not just with this but also with the seeker head not locking onto the target, or equally showing the locked on target but refusing to launch and release from the air-frame. Sometimes takes multiple pushes of the station button, cycling to nav mode and back a few times, its definitely something to do with the latest release as there is a noticeable change on reliability of employment. Also i use the harrier alot and know it inside out so i know its not a systems or incorrect procedure.

[FIXED INTERNALLY] HUD and JHMCS almost imposible to read
Hawkeye_UK replied to Ignition's topic in Bugs and Problems
So i discovered today alot of modules are affected - warning lights on the cautionary panel of the L39, nosewheel steering light on F14 along with AOA indicator lights for on speed cannot be read at all now in daylight. F14 day time HUD super faint and hard to read. Not quite sure how these get released, like does no one just do a 5 minute flight in each module both in daytime and night. Even if i had to spawn up each plane and fly, both day and night its going to take a few hours at most of testing. Crazy really. -
Harrier - Time to start putting disclaimers on?
Hawkeye_UK replied to Hawkeye_UK's topic in AV-8B N/A
Yea i've stated before that posting things on facebook is all well and good however that they need to use these forums, aka the official place to update their customers that is accessible to all (not all of use facebook anymore or have a social media presence). Yea i know i'd had patience with Razbam for the last 2 years , but when module breaking things occur they need to react quicker especially on simple alterations of brightness. Thanks for the info re the Air combat sim podcast, appreciated ! -
Haha brilliant - I'd also said about this already oddly enough re the next module would be DCS Super Tanker - great artwork though and good fun lol !
-
Thanks for the update - good to see developers communicate as not all do lol !

Next HB aircraft module (corrected list)
Hawkeye_UK replied to Leviathan667's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Lol the Jaguar was more complex with a far higher pilot workload in comparison to the Tornado. Only had to look at the typical Jag pilots they were generally older with more flight hours in the log. Not sure how this would cope in today's MP environment however unless limited to cold war. In terms of what would be favourite's i'm confident it would be the Tornado and F-111. However Tornado still active (re Luftwaffe and Saudi - not that means anything these days re Truegrit). The F-111 would be immense, that thing could shift and supreme down low and fast as well as carry an insane amount of weapons.
