  1. If it doesn't auto update by executing your desktop icon, go into Start/Programs/Eagle Dynamics and select whichever version(s) of DCS World/Update DCS World. When finished updating you can start DCS from your desktop and it "should be" up-to-date.
  2. I appreciate NOT being kept in the dark. And I guess I should have posted here instead of starting a new thread (not sure ?) ! Keep up the great work. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2948638#post2948638
  3. While I am anxious like many others to see 2.5 to be released, I am actually more happy to hear that it Will NOT be released this year as planned because they still have more work to do. I would Much Rather wait to have more fully functioning DCS World and Aircraft than get them early and have to struggle through so many annoying issues. I realize that there will always be issues with New Releases etc, but the more ED/DCS can eliminate prior to release, the better it is for everyone IMO. Good Decision Folks. Keep up the good work (and I apologize now for all my previous bitching).
  4. I have just contacted the two respondents and have shared my vision for the Huey Challenge mission as well as another more conventional, shoot'em up mission (albeit with an extremely unique mission plot). I'll just have to wait and see if anyone is interested in taking on either of these 2 projects. The latter mission was already almost completed, with voice-overs (with a ton of help from d0o0m .. thanks d0o0m) but Updates to the ME killed it. My current mission idea (the Challenge) is also completely unique BUT I'm not sure it will be enough to hold anyone's interest. But it looks good "in My head" !! I will most certainly be sharing these missions with the public OR whoever edits them can share them. I only want credit for my part.
  5. Sorry for the late reply. I will contact both respondents early tomorrow (Saturday) via PM. Thank You.
  6. I don't know if this is the place to be posting such a request but ... I'm looking for a talented Mission Creator/Designer to create a HUEY Challenge Mission for me. I have what I believe to be a very original and unique idea for a Huey Mission. Most specifically is the lead-up to the beginning of the mission which would be very unique and will create a hair-raising scenario to challenge even the best pilots. I don't want to give any specific details out until I find someone willing to put this mission together for me. While I have given up on learning the ME, I am confident that this mission will NOT be difficult to script. Nothing too fancy. The scope of the work will almost all be in the flight perimeter specifications set in the ME. Again, it is easier to explain in detail when I find the willing mission designer. Then, if all goes well and said mission designer isn't sick of me already, I have a mission that is partially complete but it needs a few things fixed and finished to remedy some issues that resulted from bloody updates !!! Anyway, if someone is willing to accept a reasonable easy mission design opportunity, please PM me and specify how best to correspond with you .. ie. email, PM, Skype etc. PS> The most difficult part of this mission design will be the creation of a critical sound file. I am willing to work on its creation but will need help making it work with the mission file.
  7. I have flown the Mt. Elbrus Rescue mission several times. It certainly is tricky, especially when you return for the 2nd Group of survivors. 1) It is very important to take on only as much fuel as is recommended (I forget if it's 10% or 20% .. something like that). 2) When I land on either flight, I point the nose downhill. 3) Immediately before trying to lift offI have the Emergency Governor switch mapped to my collective and activate it. 4) Co-Pilot turns Emerg. Gov. OFF ; You may have to turn it back on for another minute as you are skipping along the icing slope but make sure you don't over-rev and make sure to turn Emerg. Gov OFF the second you are over the first ledge. The rest of the mission is "all downhill through the fog". Watch those wires !!
  8. How about now ? lol
  9. Excellent Answer. Very reassuring. A positive selling point. At least you sold me. I have already given up on ME amongst other things.
  10. PS> You can find more detailed information about ALL of the DCS Options in the DCS World Manual. Make sure you are looking at the Manual specific to the Version of DCS World you are concerned with .. i.e. V1.5 OB or V2 etc etc.
  11. I apologize for the slow response. The settings I am referring to are those found in DCS System OPTIONS where you find the Tabs for Controls, Graphics and Gameplay settings etc. Amongst those tabs is the SPECIAL and MISC Tabs. Look in the Special Tab in which there are Sub-Tabs for each of your Aircraft Mods. Select the appropriate Mod Tab ... in this case the Gazelle (SA-342) where you should see some pre-settings for Trim. For example whether or not the Trim affects the Rudder Pedals or ONLY the Stick Position ... and Stick Centering etc. Have a close look in there. I think you "might find" that your settings have included something that needs to be Checked or Unchecked. There is also a Slider for things like Auto Rudder and how much influence it has. I hope this helps. PS> This SPECIAL Tab has settings specific to each and every DCS Mod you have installed. So every time you purchase a new Mod, you should review the settings in this Tab for the specific settings for the new Mod.
  12. ....uhm I'm pretty sure they DID actually touch .... frowned upon or not. I have seen at least 1 YouTube video that shows this. And since they were faster than anything the Allies flew, it was difficult to get within shooting range in the first place and therefore easy to run out of ammo. But a determined pilot that was willing to risk his plane and his own life in order to save potentially hundreds of innocent civilians, did in fact make contact with the V1 to tip it over. If they don't connect, I fail to see how else the rocket gets knocked out of the air !!! Please Explain ~~
  13. I'm not so sure about the survivability as you say due to damage while tipping. But it would be fun trying and finding out !! Especially if the damage model will permit it (as it was done in the real world). V2 Sites ... hmmm. It would be good for the visual affects when exploding. Or even and explosion from the odd Launch Malfunction, "triggered" when you get within a specific distance. I hope DCS/ED considers these options/possibilities ... to add a little more PUNCH and Reality to the WWII map environment. Most especially the V1.
  14. Have you checked all the Settings with regards to Trim etc ? It is possible that you have some "assist" which may be nullifying the affect of your Rudder Pedals. That will certainly make it seem like there is little or no torque effects.
  15. Seeing that new Cruise Missiles will be added to DCS World, I'm curious if any V1 Buzz Bombs will be included in the WWII Map ? It would be fun chasing after and shooting them down or "Wing-Tipping" them into the ground !!
  16. The ability to create polygon areas (not just radii / circles) is something that would be a great addition to the ME. I was once hoping to create a zone that was basically "L" shaped that encompassed a specific area within a town/city. Obviously, I discovered one of the many shortfalls of the ME. There is a ton that you can do, but one must find many work-arounds to achieve really creative missions IMO. But I stopped learning before I even got started, simply because Updates kept making missions no longer work. So the ME is useless to me at the moment until it's perfected and finished.
  17. I hope that someday DCS considers adding a Volume Adjustment for voice-over and other sound files. It just makes sense that we should be able to control the volume of files within the context of the game itself and not rinse/repeat within the sound file editor.
  18. It appears I was "almost" on the right track. A bit more complicated but not much. Kool ! Excellent Program
  19. Hi wolle I can only guess here but with regards to your EJECT command, I'm wondering if the way you have set that up that VAC is waiting until you say "Eject Eject Eject" ... 3 Times rather than it waiting for you to say "Eject" 3 times ?? I haven't tested it but it just looks to me like that might be the problem with that command. I have no clue regarding the other command issue you have.
  20. So is the the Gazelle basically ready for flight OR is there still issues ? I haven't flown it in 2 or 3 months but don't want to waste my time if I have to spend another hour with Controls .. again... or something still isn't working right. It's better that I just avoid it if there are still issues.
  21. +1 StrongHarm Thanks for the upload. I'd love to get it. However, >> Sorry for the stupid question ... BUT ... What/Where is "OP" ?
  22. While I haven't used my Space Navigator (3D Mouse) while in flight, I have used it during playback. It is an extremely easy and smooth way to navigate and view from every conceivable angle. For more information check out 3DConnexion's SpaceNavigator or this .
  23. It does take a while to get onto hovering. I spent about 10 hours practicing nothing but hovering. You must have Rudder Pedals set up for smooth transitions between right and left (like a dead zone at the center detent) because hovering requires as much inputs from the rudder pedals as it does from the Cyclic. For a while I was trying to control all directional motion with the stick/cyclic only. Then I discovered that a little bit of rudder one way makes the Huey move forward and a bit of rudder the other way makes the Huey move backward. So it's not all stick. You must learn a balance between pedals and cyclic to hover in one spot. Bearfoot says it right ... practice practice practice.
  24. I have the X55 Rhino. I do have curves (I think around 15) and recently used "i think" 75% Saturation on the Roll Axis ONLY in the Gazelle so I wasn't rolling over all the time. But due to the current necessity to have different firing buttons/trigger for HOT3 from the Rockets & Gun means I'm already down at least one button (that I would have otherwise used for Magnetic Trim). I use the same button for Trim in ALL other Mods. But again due to Gazelle requirements, I also no longer have a Trim Reset Button because in the Gazelle I need that Cyclic button to do some other bloody thing (re: Hovering options). In any case, I'm tired of frigging around with that silly Magnetic Trim switch and since I it supposed to be corrected (patched) to work the way it was intended, then as far as I understand it, it isn't required or useful UNLESS you have FFB Hotas/Cyclic. I don't. So while I wish I still had a Cyclic button to use for Trim Reset, I don't and I definitely don't have a Trim Button because it's now used to fire HOT3's and my Trigger for Rockets/Gun ... it's stupid considering you can only fly the L Model or the M Model but never BOTH at the same time ... waste of buttons. Anyway, I rarely ever touch saturation on any Mods until the Gazelle and my Curves are always mild.
  25. The only problem with this is, most times there is only ever one person flying (unless you want to use the Multi-Player Dual thingy). Without the second human, there is only 1 HOTAS which has limited buttons and switches etc to work with. If it were going to be 100% accurate and realistic, we wouldn't be getting Trim Controls in the Huey, Mi-8, BlackShark and now Gazelle that we have (to mimic how the Cyclic works in the real thing). So why can't we mimic who's firing what with what i.e. 1 person flying who has 1 HOTAS who has to run ALL the Flight and Weapons with 1 HOTAS. So to simplify, 1 Trigger should shoot everything available in the Gazelle. OR the L Model should have Separate Options from the M Model. Currently we must have 1 button to fire HOT3's and another to fire Rockets and the Gun. In no case will we ever be doing both in a single flight. So why must we have separate functions to fire those ? It makes NO SENSE !!
