Are you in VR? Because I've had several pancake mode flights today in all kinds of weather, different planes, all altitudes, and I'm not getting those FPS like I was a few months back.
-
I'm flying in pancake mode, not VR. But I'm getting solid FPS. Is it worse depending on where you are on the map?
-
I've had bad experiences on the map, great big fat hits on the frame rate down low, but lately it's been fine. I'll give it a torture test and see how bad I can make it.
-
I just had a great flight on the SA map and was very happy with the eye-candy and the performance was solid. Did some mach loop stuff, flew low enough to cut the grass, and the FPS just rocked along. Defintely one of my favourite maps.

Keeping it. I don't like the situation but I love the plane.

Heavy Rain is truely horrifying now (2.9.6)
Beirut replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Clouds & Weather System
I just noticed the new light rain presets the other day and they're great. They look fantastic! That there is some sashaying weather pulchritude. -
Often as not I use the free trials to reaffirm a non-purchase. Lots of people love the Mirage 2000, for example, and maybe it is a great module, but it leaves me cold. But I try it out every six-months, and then notice that I only flew it for an hour out of the two-weeks, and that means I'm right in not buying it. So I use my dolleri-doos for a different module.

Trial fan boy here. Love the trials, keep the trials, the trials are great. I look forward to the six-month waiting period coming around and getting to try a plane again and see if I am still on the fence or if I want to buy it. I have the Mig-21 up for trial again and I'll fly it around for (another) two-weeks and see what's what. There is no reason to end the free trials and every reason to keep them.

Thanks for the response. I haven't bought any DCS campaigns yet, but this does look interesting. Always curious what the pros can do with the ME.

This looks very well done, but is it hardcore only, or can a "casual flyer" find enough to do with it to make it enjoyable? Also, do you have to complete Mission 1 to try Mission 2 and so on, or can you pick and choose? Thank you.

And now everything works. And you do this..... for a hobby? What a strange and wonderful person you are. Thank you for all the help. Much appreciated!

Really? I'm running ST not MT because the icons borked itself? That's kind of funny actually. I'll check. Thanks.

Oh, you're going to love this... I delete the F-86 on Steam. I also delete a mod "RCAF cockpit gray". (I didn't do that before because you didn't tell me to and because I'm just not that bright.) I reinstall, no mod, and I have a regular mirror. I load the mod, and the mirror goes back to the blue colour with "mirror" written backwards on it. I do this a few times - yes mod, no mod - and it would seem the mod is the culprit. Then I load the Harrier - no F-86 cockpit mod installed - and the mirrors are still borked. Then I go back to the F-86 - still no cockpit mod - and now they are borked again, but this time no blue colour with "mirror" written backwards - just borked in the same way many other mirrors are, a kind of low poly B&W shmush. So they worked for a few minutes and now they don't. I hope you get paid a lot for this.

Okay. I'll let you know. Just FYI, the mirror bug exists with several planes. Harrier, Hornet, and more. if it's of use, I'll burn through them all later and let you know which.

Morning, Then I will assume this is a closed thread.

Your rights in this case, are limited indeed, as well they should be. You are participating in a game site forum, managing one thread to some degree or other, and as far as I can tell, exactly 0% of what is posted in that thread is original to you. Feel free to correct me, please, but I think none of what is posted was made by you. It is all taken from Youtuibe and other sites, including this one, and put into that thread to facilitate the news being seen. The thread is a conglomeration of pre-existing videos and posts. The thread itself, and again, correct me if I am wrong, contains 0% original information. That said, I like the thread very much, as do many others, and I like that you are invested in it. But let's take a step back and see it for what it is; one thread on a game site with thousands of threads. Let's not make it more grandiose than it is. I think you should be happy that so many people, like myself, enjoy it. And the limitation is and should be exactly that. As for ownership, I think ED can do with any thread or post, like this one, whatever they choose to do. It's their site, bought and paid for. And it certainly can be the case that a good thread, like yours, with millions of views and many many contributors, can be seen by ED as being of benefit to the community and deem it therefore the "property of the community" Meaning if you delete the thread, I would image they have every right in the world to bring right back to life because it benefits them and the community. And I would support that. To whatever degree you manage that thread, I'll be the first to say thank you. It's a great thread. But it's not a job, it's not an original artistic endeavor, nor is it your personal property. It's a good thread on a game site and we all enjoy it very much. That is where it starts and ends.

Same as everyone else says, even in its stalled state, it's a great plane. Needs the GBU-28 Bunker McBuster to fulfill its role as a deep strike heavy hitter.
-
We need a new Wags CH-47 video to soothe us.

I like that it's big, fat, and fast. And it has sophisticated nav systems but no real weapons, so it's all about the flying, but still has cool tech toys. Until the C-130 comes out, I guess this will have the highest people capacity of any plane or chopper.

Well I plan on having lots of fun in my Chinook. For me it's like a bigger, more modern Mi-8. And that's just fine.

I don't meant to be rude, but have you held a steady job and raised children? Because if you have you'd know that what you put forward is a recipe for disaster. Meaning is found though responsibility and taking care of others. And often as not by putting in the effort even when no one sees you do it and there is no credit to be taken, but simply because the effort is required. And again, not to be rude, but the object of this discussion is a thread on a game site. It's very good thread and I'm thankful to Silver Dragon for putting so much effort into it, but it has become a community project, and indeed perhaps the property of the community, with many contributors and a very large viewership by this site's standards. The thread is a huge success and should continue and SD should feel very good about having it bear his name. I'm sure the vast majority of people enjoy the thread. That is as good as can or should be expected for a venture of this kind.
