Agreed, it is clear he is using a mouse and keyboard setup!

Aye, more variables developers nightmare!

Awww, sorry, VR is so frustrating... far too many variables

beta all the way! SteamVR [beta] 1.17.8 Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR [beta] 1.3.6 DCS World Steam Edition [openbeta] 2.7.0.5659 Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 19042.985 (always in beta )

My crashing appears to have ceased since I disabled this... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\OpenVRSettingsUX.exe
-
Just out of interest, are you using any form of head tracking device?
-
All hail the mighty charts Sorry, I could not resist... Thunderf00t made me do it.
-
They didn't fix it. Hover is no longer viable.
-
I had this while using one of the VR Shader mods, screen came back after removing it.

I have no idea if this is related but I had a SteamVR crash today for the first time. I was in MP (Aerobatics Europe), started a T-45, took off and flew for a few minutes before the SteamVR crash. I noticed yesterday that OpenVRSettingsUX.exe had a an option under Graphics named Optimise rendering and improve GPU memory usage which was already set to "On". I don't remember seeing this before. Changed it to "Off" and tried DCS again... repeated mission/flight and this time no crash. May just be a coincidence.

I gently clamped my VR headset to my desk and looked around the VR world using my keyboard... jitter gone! It appears (to me, ymmv) that the new clouds (and the F/A-18C HMD) are bound to an extremely sensitive sensor within the headset. The clouds jitter with my every heartbeat, tremor, and head shake (I'm old and a bit unfit). This could also explain why some VR users do not see as much jitter - healthier? weaker pulse? lower blood pressure?

Are our new clouds TrueSky made?
Dunx replied to 343KKT_Kintaro's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
I did not find any evidence of the trueSky API in DCS. -

I searched the entire DCS installation folder hierarchy. EDIT: BTW, you can google "trueSky SDK documentation" to get information about the DLLs needed for the API. -

You can check yourself, search for "Simul*.dll" files in DCS folders. There are three API flavours for TrueSky; Unity, Unreal and Standalone. Knowing DCS is not using Unity or Unreal it could only use Standalone. You can also download TrueSky API yourself. -
Hahaha, irony, proving the point. +1 for transparency

I can't spot outside VR sweet-spot, my eyes have to stay in the small central zone (Reverb G1, others are better/worse), neck rotation is therefore exagerated.
-
The jitter I experience is in harmony with my heartbeat, especially when my pulse makes my vr headset tick. Adrenaline/anxiety make my clouds dance

reported 2.7 VR Different drawings distance for each eye
Dunx replied to Maksim Savelev's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
I don't know if this is related but I also had one/two bands of distant objects that were being rendered differently, which caused eye strain. Enabling stereo_mode_use_shared_parser resolved this issue but presented other issues with lighting rendering in one eye. I then read that Windows Settings > Mixed reality > Headset display > Experience options set to "Optimise for Performance" may cause rendering issues. Setting this to "Best visual experience" and disabling stereo_mode_use_shared_parser has resolved the rendering issues I experienced. -
I don't have an answer for you, but I have tested 2.7 with and without... Enabled = Stobing smoke in left eye, some lights only rendered in one eye. Disabled = Some mountains, forests and buildings render differently in each eye. Using Reverb G1, 60%/100% resolution, 60Hz/90Hz
-
My clouds, and my F/A-18C HMD, bounce in tune with my heartbeat too! I can stabilize the clouds a little with rythmic nodding... Ohh Yes. I had no idea the Reverb G1 was so sensitive. Going to experiment with some foam insulation.
-
I created a small mission in Caucasus and tested each type of cloud, then I spent several hours in AO sitting at Kob.
-
I'm loving the clouds but performance has taken a hit because I had to disable stereo mode and enable flat shadows. Changed G1 to 60Hz has given a little extra for the shadows. So far... Clouds jitter (known issue) stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = true - causes smoke and some statics to strobe in left eye (Reverb G1) Some smoke effects do not dissipate after expansion Some graphic artifacts rendered in clouds Distant cloud elements rotate with head rotation
-
Yes, very sad implementation for VR

40.6 GB on Steam version sorry I have not moved over yet edit: guess all my modules are coming thanks
