Mode1961 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 well may-june, seems to point at very early in June, i think and this is a guess --- that the hawk and the mig-21 will launch same time with 1.2.9, hopefully first week of June to coincide nearly with the monthly newsletter. this is what my crystal ball is telling me. Well they specifically stated it would be released while 1.2.8 was the current version, so it will be released before 1.2.9

howie87 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 If, tomorrow, I tell the thread that, like, a group of tanks will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it’s all ‘part of the plan’. But when I say that the MiG-21 is getting close to release, well then everyone loses their minds!

That shouldnt matter, Duxford is a public showing of their blood sweat and tears.... that is a huge undertaking, putting your product out there for the public to see... it may only seem like a small part... but its a huge moment in time for them. Esac_mirmidon Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 If Duxford is not important, why so much effort to be there? I think it´s a great milestone for Leatherneck Studio and a great place to be presented to public. " You must think in russian.." Good place to find flight simmers though... Although I am not sure if it's really feasible, I sure would like to see LS and other studios take advantage of some these airshows here in the US. I was at the Cherry Point airshow this past weekend and there were tons of folks and I am sure a lot of potential customers. :) Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
Cobra847 Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Yeah; Duxford certainly means a lot to us. Most of the folks who will be present probably have never even heard of DCS; but undoubtedly there will be some hardcore simmers on site. It's not perhaps about the volume of people or the demographic; but rather the fact that it will be the very first time anyone outside the team (bar Pete and Chris from VEAO) will have flown the aircraft. That said though; it will still be a BETA. We're working extremely hard on integrating everything that has been awaiting full implementation and it's been a really rough week. A few things won't make it in for sure though, the new damage modelling being the most apparent. Really looking forward to seeing what people think, but won't pretend we're not nervous. :) Edited May 22, 2014 by Cobra847 Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

Pman Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hi Guys, Thought I would chip in here, Every time we have displayed DCS at Duxford we have had an amazing response to the point that last year the onsite store sold out of physical copies of P-51D while we were there, 4 boxes worth. As well as members of the public we have access to a huge array of pilots from every walk to life, this provides invaluable information. We have shown the Hawk at Duxford for the past few shows as well as all the other modules and cant be more pleased with the feedback we have. At the last show we had the setup open to the public for about 5 hours a day and had queues solid around 40 men deep at times. We are looking forward very much to demo'ing the Mig21 at Duxford this weekend and gather valuable feedback from both people who know DCS and those who dont. Hopefully we will see many people from the DCS community at the show as well :) I have no doubt that this is a massive step for the guys at Leatherneck and the importance of that first unveil can not be under estimated. Its a massive task and is always a point of nerves when something that you have worked on for so long is finally being unveiled to the public at large. Pman
