Need-To-Know Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I voted for the B17 with all of the cool WW2 AC available but the F-111 would be my modern pick too. A2A really got the ambiance of the B17 right but I miss the multi stations of the old old old Microprose game B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th. It had navigators area with wind drift, bombers sights etc.....ahhh that was a long time ago. We would need some large scale terrain to fly historic missions (personally not into the 8 hour missions though). Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win. Callsign: Need Shu-Ha-Ri
SDsc0rch Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 ha! i clicked f-111 because that was such a workhorse for the USAF for so many years - really an un-sung hero but i didn't think it would show up on anybody else's radar scope how wrong i was! : ) (close second: B-1 !!) i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kayos Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I choose the B-29 ! Most beautiful bomber ever built. Although only 3 of us have voted for it. F-117 would be pretty cool, I think that would fit well in DCS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WRAITH Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) DCS Bombers Supporter Hi all, All of these would be great to have in a "Tactical Air Support Sortie Mission"........... WinterH Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Being a generally serious and more or less stoic person, I would squeal like a little girl if someone would release a DCS : Su-34. Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
ChoSeungWan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) So people are just picking the one closest to a fighter jet? I wouldn't mind an F-111 at all but really I would just like any of the non WW2, heavy bombers on the list. Edited September 5, 2014 by ChoSeungWan

112th_Rossi Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 B52 please. Since we have quite a few cold war era aircraft, this would suit. 1
Kuky Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 meh, I want MiG-29 (any version) but for this ... I voted F-111 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
112th_Rossi Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You're also forgetting the Handley Page Victor. Which was a better bomber than the Vulcan. Arguably.
ChoSeungWan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You're also forgetting the Handley Page Victor. Which was a better bomber than the Vulcan. Arguably. Looked better anyway.
Raven68 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 The AFM for variable geometry on some of these bombers is going to be a beast to model I bet, but ED and these 3rd party developers seem to step up to the challenge on anything here. dumgrunt Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I would give my left nut and my first born for an f-111c. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Kayos Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 SU-34 SU-34 would be awesome! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ChoSeungWan Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Now we have nukes confirmed with Mig-21bis, we can't NOT have a strategic bomber now!
esb77 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 For the small tactical bomber/attack jet category the A-6 Intruder might be an interesting choice. Callsign "Auger". It could mean to predict the future or a tool for boring large holes. I combine the two by predictably boring large holes in the ground with my plane.
Visceral Raptor Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I think the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber would be very interesting to fly, because it has no vertical stabilizer (so you have no control of yaw).
GGTharos Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Of course you have control of yaw. How else could you keep control of the aircraft? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
