Aries works very good in this role.

Yes I know neck but it's just not possible on our Teamspeak with potentially 2600 users. If Aries was a standalone system freed from Teamspeak it would be better. As for now we cant risk destroying communication for all these users.

Simple soloution is to create a channel which you call Aries, and all pilots flying on one mission will be in that channel.

Aries has nothing to do with the server, and is used by the clients only, and thus it will not affect anyone else than the client.

I will assume those 2600 will be spread out in different channels anyway.

turned skyward for there you have been, and there you will always long to return"

Server browser with stronger support for mods and external resources. Filter by mods, i.e. compatible with current version, auto mod and skin downloads. Pure servers etc.

TS3 click to join / ability to copy I.P address would be nice.

Would be nice if we can speak with other human pilots in the multiplayer. I am frustrated about searching TS3 with the right MP game in DCS.:helpsmilie:

While I'd love to see a integrated voice chat solution in DCS I can imagine there could be a different feature as well that could be helpful for communication:

A basic communication menu (think of Battlefield's circle menu). The player or server admin could choose who can hear whom (in a coop mission you could let the player decide that everyone hears him, in PvP probably not) and you can choose a few simple commands.

Automatization of some calls could also help. I've aborted so many attacks, jinking wildly and wasting flares to avoid a MANPADS missile that wasn't there, because some guy in another A-10 didn't make a "rifle" call.

A TeamSpeak link in the server list that automatically opens the proper server/channel in TS would be GREAT.

- The ability to control runway lighting so that it can be activated during fog or heavy weather.

- The ability to see the dynamic weahter parameters on a given location on the map like QNH and wind. This is needed when human controllers and JTAC's are at work

Or at least check what your button mappings are set to, in case you forget.

At the top of my list is the ability to play over a LAN network! This is a must in my book, I consider this a basic game function that is neglected nowadays.

Another idea which I think would be fun, would be the ability for players to man AAA guns,SAMs,ATCs and ground radar sites. Perhaps player driven GCI?

ATC and ground radar can't be done (in th base game , i think there's a mod for it) but AAA and SAM can already be controlled with combined arms

can i suggest buddy refueling?

With what aircraft exacly?

Changing button mapping would be nice, but i would atleast like to consult my mapping every now and then. It tends to be useful for beginners like me

This game really needs official persistent servers. There are lots of hugely popular online wargames these days. Maybe battles could last a few hours, and regional conflicts (with allowed aircraft, finite resources, starting positions, logistics, etc.) could last a few weeks. So you could choose any sort of mission (CAS, CAP, SEAD, JTAC, transport, CASEVAC, etc.) and receive points based on your mission performance, be on leaderboards, earn ace status, collect medals, and so on. Maybe a lobby system so friends could join as an element.

The master server ping package between DCSW master server happens every 60 seconds, but if DCSW didn't receive the response from master.digitalcombatsimulator.com then player will be kicked from any connected host. Can ED make this policy more kind? There might be only few players complaints about this issue but actually most players in mainland china are facing this problem: always got kicked because they lost the connection with master server. They have bad connections to master.digitalcombatsimulator.com

There might be some solutions:

1) If ED can setup a backup master server, say master2.digitalcombatsimulator.com in Korea / Japan / HK / even Mainland China that would be great, so if dcsw failed to receive the ping package from master.digitalcombatsimulator.com, it can try to ping master2.

2) Make this policy more kind, For example: if they lost 10 ping packages continuously then they got kicked.

Multiplayer needs:

- Ability to:

password side/coalition

password flights and ground commander

simple export/import of passwords as texts so a server can quickly change passwords on the fly.

- Ability/feature to/of choosing flights via an F10 like map from where you pick either Airfieds/FARPs or mid air flights and after clicking a said airfield/FARP a menu should let the player choose the plane/flight. Something similar to old "Il-2 dogfight server" but more updated to 2015.

These two would be beneficial to large campaigns like current 373vFS Blue Flag. Would give better control over assets/ squad assets, prevent abuse and simplify choosing a plane from a list of 500 available.

-Ability for in game VOIP. As other said. But! If is too complicated some simple integration of TeamSpeak 3 via ME interface and TS3 plugin would be beneficial. Here is an example of how it could work.

The mission designer could choose in ME a TS3 server address with passwords if needed or the game can prompt the user when needed. The address can be a internet one or a local TS3 server that is automatically started when the mission is run locally.

The server would automatically create channels for each frequency/channel selected/asked by a user client when in game or create some default ones by reading the used channels/frequencies in game.

The client would have a ED designed TS3 plugin that would read the TS3 server info and would connect and switch the client between channels as he switches frequencies or radio channels in game.

The plugin should also take in consideration range and LOS as the current Radio of the DCS does.

This way it would be a bit simpler to develop/maintain and also it would be very simple for normal users that would require only to have TS3 installed. The TS3 client would be started automatically by DCS and also the plugin would be install automatically by the game installer. Much simpler than ARIES system imho.

Button mapping would be good, had to change a couple things around for the mig 21 the other day and it's annoying having to launch into the single player game, make changes, quit and then launch multiplayer.

Wags said in a video that this feature isn't going to happen anytime soon as the code currently requires DCS to be paused to change button mapping, unfortunately.

Cross fingers that à new local area will be created for quick dogfights trainings missions 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 or more, different than the last DCS 1, in separated multiplayer place.

How many people are playing multi player wwii fights.. P51 vs Me-109K, etc.... I want to get into this but my HOTAS Cougar installation on a Windows 10 system has run into a problem... Perhaps someone can help?

I rebuilt an old sys to WinXP specs. I used to Flash the COUGAR.. all is ok. I installed Foxy, TM drivers 64 bit, and Target into a 2nd drive SSHD on my wind 10 system. Foxy recognizes the Stick and throttle key assignments but I can not get T.A.R.G.E.T. to run ? any help would be appreciated.

Let me tell u abit about me. I have been playing online flight sims since PAW. My favorite WWII was Battle of Britain, II. My favorite modern was Falcon 16: Allied Assault. I have not played flight sims for years... maybe 5 years. I switched to FPS and the hacking and high pingers have ruined those few games I play. I want to return to multiplayer flight sims.

I have been practicing law for over 35 years and have recently limited my practice to keep myself busy.. and buy these toys:<)

I have a 4770K at 3.50Hz, 16 megs of ram, Wind 10, 7970 vid card... better than my old 2x 6970 cards.......... I have a Trackir 3 and will replace with Trackir 5 model. I will upgrade next year to the new 3d mem vid cards, supporting mbs and cpu ... I want a 30+" monitor with a 244Hz refresh rate. I have a THrustmaster Cougar HOTAS ... which I am still having problems running on the Win 10 syste. I have available Win 7 and 8.1 as well and would reinstall one of them if that would solve the TM issues..

I am rebuilding my flight chair within month of September.

I want to play multi player wwII and later add in modern jet sims...

I hope to c u gents in my sites soon:<)
