The Viggen seems indeed pretty reasonable.

Yep, that is indeed a real candidate. It was also operated by the Black Sheep squadron (Cobras avatar). The Black Sheep's also operated the F4U Corsair. They did say that one of their planes would be related to their namesake (Leatherneck, nickname of Marines).

I think the hints so far is Duck (Vigg=Tufted Duck, Viggen= The Tufted Duck), Swedish Air Force Emblem (Cobra Avatar), RB 04E anti-ship missile (Cobra Avatar, used operationally on the Viggen), Ground Radar (PS-37 used on both AJ-37 and AJS-37 Viggen variants), "Complex missiles with Advanced Targeting Parameters" RB-04E would fit to that description, as it is a sea skimming missile. "New or unique methods of propulsion or force distribution" Thrust Reverser on the Viggen to support it's STOL capability.

So, my bet is still on the Viggen.

NEW AIRCRAFT ARE THE F-4 PHANTOM AND HELLCAT(?)

So i went on http://www.leatherneck-sim.com/dcs-mig-21/ and was looking at the pictures when i spotted the F-4 Phantom:

I then decided to add numbers and found the Hellcat(?):

So some other speculation is that Cobra's avatar is a "The Black Sheep". There was as squadron called VMA-21, aka, the black sheep.

They flew, Corsairs, F4F Wildcat, Harriers so who knows.

Some more points for the Viggen:

--

Currently we have three separate theaters in development, one of which we have previously announced and will be released together with the F-14. The other two are slated for release either with, or directly after the release of our other two aircraft. All three are very unique and don't really have a lot in common.

--

Thus, we hope to avoid aircraft that are 'misplaced' in the wrong theater and environment. Naturally, the main campaign for each module will take place in their respective theater.

--

Unique theaters, and so that the aircraft don't feel "misplaced".

Viggen was only used by the Swedish airforce. ;)

As mentioned in a previous update, both of these aircraft (just like the F-14) have required us to develop new in-house technologies and components.

--

  • Custom shaders for enhanced visual fidelity (e.g. CRT Screen representation)

  • Far more complex avionic and computer systems than in the MiG-21

  • New and unique PFM features and aerodynamic configurations

The Viggen used a Swedish developed advanced flight and targeting computer. This was in order to get rid of the navigator (RIO/WSO type) which would otherwise have been needed.

It had a CRT radar monitor.

And it has fixed canards with flaps/flaperons or what you will call it, as opposed to fully movable canards like on SU-33. (not SU-27 as previously stated).

Plus of course the mentioned Thrust reverser.

So will be exciting to see what they eventually come up with. :)

Those images have been there since before the MiG-21 was even released. This is about 8th or so thread/post about them and, for all we know so far, they are not related to next modules at all. If I recall correctly Cobra said so himself once.

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

Su-27 Dose not have Canards

The Su-33 does aswell as some Su-30 variants.

Fully movable Canards are however becoming rather common.

Jas 39 Gripen Eurofighter Rafael J-10 etc.

I also think these last info points towards the Saab 37.

My hope would be the AJS-37 (Updated variant instead of the older AJ-37)

Dream would ofc be the fighter JA-37 with Amramms and very advanced datalink but that dose not fit since its a fighter version and thus does not have any Air-Ground Radar modes.

Sorry, my bad about SU-27. It's the SU-33.

But anyway, new thing with fixed canards.

And agree about the AJS-37 version of Viggen, if it is supposed to have A-G radar mode.

Could it be the Tornado? Reverse thrust and Air to Ground radar aswell?

I think F4 is logical step and pair for Mig 21 as well as middle east map with Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Israel. Even perfect for F14 on who LN already working.

That would be super awesome, since it's my most favorit AC ever, but I highly doubt it. VEAO is going to make that one happen. The given clues fit better to the Viggen or maybe the Harrier.

Isn´t Razbam supposed to make the Harrier?

It is an F4 Wilcat and F4 Phantom II, they also have P38 and F6F Hellcat So... I wouldn't take it as any sign. Also... Phantom more complex than F-14?

All those steam powered systems I'd imagine would be more complex to model than the F14?

I don't think it's a Phantom but Phuck me would I be a Pleased Phanatic if it were!
