Mainstay Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 The bad news is this time there is no ETA. The rest is good news. Yeah but on the other hand its been (delayed)(not ready) so many times now i kinda got use to it. Lets just hope it will be worth all the waiting.
Raven68 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I was really stoked because of the recent flood of pics and videos, it seemed to be quite close. I would be prepared to play an alpha with all of these added features missing, but it seems they want to make it as feature complete as possible. Im very dissapointed but I have only myself to blame since I should have known better. Don't feel alone on this my friend. I felt the same way back in February, but yet here we are in June...another delay. I will say that I feel like I am getting better about my expectations and trying to accept this as the norm. Also I will say that I dont blame them for leaving out anything as to when they expect a release because they have been bitten many times. The air of being close is there, but how close it close?? :) Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
Tello Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Good to hear you put so much pride and hard work in your products. I have never be in doubt about that. I hope that as you continue testing that you will realise how much the hard work in the core/foundation will pay of later. Only minor bugs to fix. Mig 29 news got me most exited. Have a nice summer Edited June 17, 2015 by Tello 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sniperwolfpk5 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Casually announces su 33 PFM!! I'm more excited by that then the new mig 29 to be honest Moderator please confirm that su-33 will get PFM or it was just writing mistake I didn't read it like that. Apparently they want to integrate a lot of stuff before releasing the Alpha. The biggest surprise is that they want to integrate multicockpit functionality into 2.0 before releasing it?! This is the feature that is most exciting The bad news is this time there is no ETA. The rest is good news. This is the only good news. no ETA is better than this delay news. I am going to cry ... We are in cry boat Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. Dudikoff Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Since it was already known that the DCS World 2 is delayed till whenever, I'm quite happy with the update. Love the official confirmations of the MiG-29 FC3 update (plus the Su-33 PFM) and the progress on the L-39 and F/A-18C modules seems pretty good. Also, having the world camera in the Mission Editor is really something to look forward to (once the DCSW 2 is done). And performance optimizations are always welcome (especially for those of us with poor hardware). agrasyuk Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 We have done that to ourselves by counting the months, days and minutes to perceived deadlines... Strange logic. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project

The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...

Brute4ce Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 @ED: Thanks for the Newsletter and your hard work. Always good hearing officially from you ;). What I'm missing in the Newsletter is some information on Matt's planned Twitch session: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2413720 IMO that would be definitly Newsletter worthy. Keep up the good work!
Revelation Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 @ED: Thanks for the Newsletter and your hard work. Always good hearing officially from you ;). What I'm missing in the Newsletter is some information on Matt's planned Twitch session: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2413720 IMO that would be definitly Newsletter worthy. Keep up the good work! Since it has already been announced and asked for feedback on what folks want to see; that's probably why it wasn't mentioned in the newsletter. In fact I'm a little surprised it is still taking place - happy none the less. If the twitch stream hadn't been announced yet, then I agree. Matt is still probably working out the details on what AC he will fly and what he will tour. Obviously he will want to avoid any issue that might cause problems so he will pre-fly the route a couple of times to avoid any known issues. SkateZilla Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Guys, I understand your feelings about some of the elements of the newsletter, but the rules regarding constructive criticism and sarcastic criticism are still rules. Sarcastic comments regarding "delay til 2017,2020" etc will be deleted, GIFs depicting "a person sarcastically waiting at his desk forever" as well, or any posts directly aimed at ED regarding delays and/or how they moderate the forums. And any responses to the above elements. The news letter was not all negative, there is alot of exciting information contained in it, along with detailed information about how and why certain things are delayed. 1.10 Product feedback and constructive criticism is encouraged when provided in a mature and courteous manner. However, feedback that is abusive, insulting or condescending is not welcome. Additionally, to bring up a particular issue repeatedly after it has already been acknowledged will be considered "trolling" - in such cases a warning will be issued to the author and the post will be removed. 1.4 Posts/threads that undermine the actions of the forum staff, such as opening threads that are redundant, disruptive or deal with topics that have been previously locked, will result in administrative actions against the user. Mango Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 More excited about DCSW 2 now than ever. Great update! (the delay is no surprise, it's just nice to read what state the engine is in, whatever the case).
ED Team NineLine Posted June 17, 2015 ED Team Posted June 17, 2015 Complaint, by it's very nature is criticism. Just a different kind. ED appreciates constructive criticism. But in this case this is a news update on coming updates to DCS World... the only constructive criticism I can see for a newsletter is comments like "I would like high-res screenshots", all else is just un-needed belly aching... As always, ED is both trying to get this out as fast as they can AND putting out a very solid major update. I am disappointed its not ready, Matt is disappoint its not ready, etc... but at the end of the day, its better than throwing out a hot mess that isnt ready for prime time, that would be more disappointing... RabidRider Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I don't mind the wait as it'll be worth it in the end! Glad to know they're also working on explosions. Thanks for the update ED!
Revelation Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Speaking of the improved AI ATC, would this be related to an old "project" in regard to advanced ATC that was once going be part of DCS 1.x release? Always curious what happened to that feature. Would be nice if we could get just a bit more info on the direction ED is taking in that department. NoJoe Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Great newsletter, and nice to see more screenshots of Nevada and the Hornet!
tobaschi Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 it would be nice if you ED'guys lower the requirements for the Nevada Alpha a little bit. From this listed items: A couple of crash situations Functional Air Traffic Control Ground unit road movement Performance improvements Static object issues TACAN and ILS only this looks like a real alpha - version blocker to me: A couple of crash situations the rest is in my eyes for the first alpha only a nice to have.
