NeilWillis Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I'm calling you out as a liar. No way it's anywhere close to correct. The only way I'd believe you is if you could superimpose or juxtapose the absolutely best ever AJS-37 Viggen 3D model, complete with textures, in the same position, for comparison. Now put your money where your mouth is. I don't think you were actually reading what he said at all, but putting words into his mouth. Just because it is one of the better renderings doesn't mean it has to be accurate in any way at all - it just means it is one of the least inaccurate of those that exist. For example, there might be three models of elephants in existence in the world, and two of them had 5 legs, but the third just had a body size and shape that was way out, but at least it had only 4 legs. If you said that the third model was the most accurate model of an elephant you'd ever seen, it could never be construed as a lie because out of the three it is in fact the best - even if it is wildly inaccurate. So sir, retract the accusation of lies, and think again. His statement could be totally true, and yet the model referred to could be miles out. It just has to be the least inaccurate.

Pocket Sized Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I just realized: 1. The stream is going to be on a Monday 2. The stream is at 1:00 PM local time, so I won't be able to watch it until 2 hrs after it ends 3. Leatherneck is known to be THE biggest troll in the DCS community so there's no chance this was accidental 4. I am cri DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. So the Hope is that it will be an unveiling of the Viggen with Video + pictures etc as well as hopefully info on the release date etc. Its what everyone it currently waiting for.

Zilch Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Ah, hell. I've been hoping for a Viggen-tastic Thanksgiving this whole time, with a new plane to crash towards the end of the month. Turns out out they're teasing a teaser. Those cheeky maniacs... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Zilch79's YouTube Channel:
microvax Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Will there be units in the mission editor to set up road bases on Viggen release ? I mean one can stop gap with FARPs next to roads. But would be nice to have the appropriate units at hand. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?
Pocket Sized Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Y'all remember the story of a Viggen doing recon who baited a fighter into a split S and got a maneuver kill? Well, last night I was inspired by this in the F-5. There was a fishbed who had just taken off on my tail so I knew he was heavy. I couldn't shake him and I saw tracers going past my canopy. I realized I was low and fast so I pulled up and rolled inverted at about 4000 feet. I pulled like mad and watched with glee as he slipped outside my turn and ejected about 50 feet over the water. I silently thanked the wonderful people in this thread and returned to base. (The fishbed pilot said something in Russian in the chat then disconnected shortly after) DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

WHOGX5 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Does anyone know if the AJS-37 had a winter camouflage? Or did it simply use its splinter camo all year round? -Col. It would have used splinter scheme all year round, but would have likely had a white camo net above it, similar to this green camo net:

Seems to be something that the long deltawinged fuselage is simple not meant for. I don't know if I understand you but if the pilot followed you through an inverted loop he may simply not have his plane very well.

Mig-21bis can do A half loop, But it's more then likely to be larger in circumstance then the opponent aircraft, I fail to se how the manouver in it self would be impossible in a Mig-21bis. It's an agile fighter, just not in all aspects.

You are stalling it, watch your AoA indicator and the two red lights on each side of the gunsight.
