Add a few airports to the NTTR map

4's not really a lot. One is VERY limited. FWIW you can edit a carrier on and get more ships with copy paste, which allows more space for Su-33's, which on some bases seem limited in the parking spots they can use along with 27's, tomcats, hornets and other 'large' jets.

 

Not very realistic, but again it gets more runway in the map. Don't forget FARPs for choppers either.

I was talking more in general because there are a lot of airports in the area that aren't in NTTR

In my opinion Tonopah is a real need. This morning I was re-reading first chapter of Vipers in the Storm, in which it is described a green flag exercise in NTTR (a ground attack against a SA-8 site with Air to Air opposition). Enemy forces use Tonopah airport and friendly forces use Nellis AFB . The main problem in NTTR is the short distances in between airports currently developed.

Extending the map is unlikely, so using these two makes much better sense IMO.

 

Technically, the existing map already extends to the Pacific ocean, no extension needed. It's a low-res area, but it still exists.

Tonopah, Laughlin and Boulder would be prime additions and greatly enhance the map's usability for more general scenarios. I'd put Tonopah at the top of the list though as it looks like it would work the best for a north/south scenario. It's also a military base, so that's a bonus and is relevant to the whole NTTR training thing too. NTTR as it stands is a good map though limited in functionality, but with a little more effort it can be great with lots of possible uses. :)

I don't think so, but afaik ED only shares the required tools with serious third parties partners showing solid background and experience.

Laughling, Bullhead would be awesome! :) Took my instrument, commercial and multi engine rating at Sheble Aviation. My checkrides took place at Henderson. This was almost 20 years ago, time flies! ;)

I wonder if they'll eventually expand the map to include other military and civilian airports.Like the Yuma MCAS/Int Airport,because were already getting the AV-8B Harrier from Razbam and would be great to get some practice on some bombing ranges near there.

May I ask to add the old and new Desert Rock airfields? If you would like a hand-drawn approach plate I have one. They were used by the Dept of Energy for A-Bomb testing, and now I believe the new Desert Rock is used as an Aux field for UAV testing. I'm not 100% on this.

Add my vote for a some more content in NW Nevada. Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and especially Reno, Fernley, and Fallon. Also, don't forget the Tahoe Reno Industrial Park, home to the brand spankin new Tesla Gigafactory. Just begging for some ordnance, if you ask me. ;) Love tesla, but lots of lithium? Yes please!
