Nealius Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I thought 2.0 had a lot more different things than just a change in locale. As a side note, you are not paying for ALPHA, you are getting early access if you want, no one is forced to use NTTR at this point. Unless I'm mistaken 2.0 Alpha doesn't work without NTTR, which means you must have NTTR to play it (excluding this possibility of Caucasus in 2.0). That's been my understanding and what many have told me since the release of 2.0 Alpha.

I'd say 2.0 only needs a terrain in the correct location to run, and since you can now (with some JSGME jiggery pokerie) import Caucasus now it'll run as there is a terrain in the folder for it to load. Yes, but you are not paying for 2.0 Alpha. you are getting early access to NTTR which only runs in 2.0. 1.5 is basically 2.0 without the ability to have multiple maps. As patches come through at different stages, you may have fixes in one and not the other, for instance, the L-39ZA isnt in 2.0 that I know of right now. Cibit Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 This is not recommended, and could render any bug reports for 2.0 useless to ED, keep that in mind if you are one to help reporting problems. Absolutely:thumbup: this was purely a test and it is working flawlessly. For instance choosing quick mission you get the choice of maps to pick your mission from. The Black Sea map still isnt recommended to run in 2.0, or else it would be there already. I cant say that enough. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Yes I am reinforcing and support what SithSpawn is saying, please no way am I using this for play just looking around and getting a glimpse of things to come. This is a great sim and will continue the high quality. There are some graphic glitches I am sure they will take care of when it comes time to do the merge. So lets give them time so they will get this right. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vandal71 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I really don't think there are any children in here. As grown adults I think we can make the decision for ourselves if we want to run the mod or not. Not everyone submits bug reports (such as myself) so the point is pretty mute.
fitness88 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) only copy Caucasus directory on Mods, to Mods directory on 2.0.1. That work :) There's only one file in: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\Caucasus/entry.lua So all you need to do is copy this one file? I tried it and it doesn't work...so where exactly is this folder? Edited February 19, 2016 by fitness88

Grimes Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Do the missions work? I tried some of them Yes, they do work Hahhahahahahahahahah No. Yes missions will load, but depending on what is in it there are some massive gameplay breaking bugs. Hence why Sith has been going on about why its not recommended. Be a good sport and don't report bugs using this mod, because the reports are effectively rendered useless. There is a very good reason why 2.0 is only Nevada at the moment. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Enduro14 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Ill repeat what others have said not a two year old and have multiple installs of dcs world, that being said missions i tried with A10c and Ka50 worked fine for me and actually was flying 1.5.2 servers online while utilizing 2.0. Was a cool experiment and it really gives you appreciation for all the hard work and how awesome 2.0 will be once everything is integrated into the one exe. Now looking forward to the next patch that hopefully comes out today. Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S

Telefunken Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I have just copied the Caucasus map into 2.0.1. However, the A10C training Takeoff and Basic Handling has the aircraft facing the wrong way on the strip. Could there be a longitude bug? I'd like to trim down the number of installs, currently 1.2.6, 1.5.2, 1.5.3 beta and 2.0.1 alpha It is a known and expected bug, and just one of the reasons why I was stating that while missions will technically load, there WILL be issues. Some of which will completely break how a mission plays out. Yeah you can fly around and look at stuff, but I DO NOT recommend using this mod for gameplay purposes. In terms of what installs you can trim out, probably 1.2.16 and the open beta depending on how much you use them. Besides if you feel up to it, its pretty easy to switch an install between public release and open beta. Not to mention the open betas haven't had long periods of being far ahead of the public version lately. Though that will possibly happen once 2.0 transitions from alpha to beta.
