If you've been given Normandy/Assets Pack keys this week by DCS does this mean you also have Alpha access?

Thank You

I think you need a separate key for the alpha access.

Correct. I have a key for the Normandy map as well as a key for Alpha Access.

Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1

I have keys for both but it doesn't answer the question - does that mean I get Alpha Access?

It seems I may have been hoist by my own petard. I deliberately backed over $120 (way above the $50 Alpha Access level) to be sure of getting all aircraft (nine in fact) plus Alpha Access but fell short of the revised (new) $140 Alpha Access level. According to the link SiThSpAwN posted I will not get Alpha Access after all. I knew the number of aircraft had been reduced but had not realised Alpha Access had been removed from the higher backers.

Yes,I'm another $120 Backer,To be perfectly honest,It has been so long I really can't remember what the deal..Aircraft/Maps/Alpha.. originally was? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If you have a key for Alpha Access then I would imagine that the key will work.

Yes, just two keys here so no Alpha access. I have to wait for beta access which is presumably what the pre-purchasers will get too even if they were not KS backers?

I'd assume so. No worries - I've waited this long. I can wait a few more weeks.

And to all those who were wondering if it's fair or not. I pledged $90 when the original KS kicked off. When it died, I was annoyed but I knew the risk going it so I wasn't irate. I didn't feel like I got "ripped off" because, again, that's how KS works. There are no guarantees.

Then ED picked it up. And these maps look gorgeous. I simply cannot wait to fly along Point Du Hoc with my Rift and look at the beaches/cliffs etc. I also didn't complain about how long it took. Getting the WWII work thrown in had to throw a monkey wrench into product timelines.

And now you guys are grumbling about who gets access first? I mean folks, come on. ED is exactly right in doing their best to honor (KS pledge) as much as possible, and tweaking the award level after having rescued the project.

So can we just all take a breath, enjoy the spring that's here, go ride a bike, throw some balls around with your children and before you know it *everyone* can play. So can we all just, please, chill out? And get ready to enjoy the DCS battlefield that's available to us?

(PS: and I own every campaign and modules - sans Migs - and I fully support what ED is trying to do.)

Wait...are you saying that if I pre-ordered it 2 weeks ago, I will not have early access? in May?

You will have 'Early Access' in May (or when it releases to the public). The discussion is with regard to kickstarter backers, from many years ago, who qualify for a special Closed Alpha access prior to the public Early Access that you purchased.

You'll have more time to watch all the Early Access Reviews, Videos and Screenshots I Guess?

Thanks for a great post. I am grateful that Wags picked up a dead project I backed. He will make it better then what Oleg would have done. Thanks Wags.

Thanks, but bear in mind that I am just one element of a much larger team. I report to our two company directors, and work with two other producers (Chizh and Raccoon). I am just the most visible member of the team. I certainly do not call all the shots :)

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
