ED Team Alex Okean Posted January 30, 2018 ED Team Posted January 30, 2018 i just leave it here : Palm grip axis is used for selection of interaction hand (with green ray) Index trigger used as left mouse button mouse Thumbstick as mouse wheel, X as escape button, Y as centering, A as zoom Specially for Oculus in Steam VR: new command line option -force_steam_VR added, it allows to use Steam API for Oculus Known issues: - GUI renders on front - no controls mapping for VIVE
Ganeshka Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 thanks , now downloading ... need to try by myself . My dream is using touch like natural hands gestures in cockpit with vibration :)

dogbite Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Sorry to hijack this thread for a moment, but I could use some expert advise :helpsmilie: Most parts still have warranty (at least the cv1 and gfx card do). According to the seller, the system hasn't been overclocked. I don't think the CV1 warranty can be transferred. You might want to confirm that. Enduro14 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 I’ve been away awhile just fired up 2.5 and very Impressed with the oculus touch controller implementation. So question when can we virtually control the aircraft with the touch controllers. I hope that is the direction this is going. Maybe that is the VR capability of the f18 module? I love Touch for the games that it is designed, but I can't see using it when I have a hotas for controlling my birds. Total immersion breaker when the haptics are missing. Even my stick and throttle not being a close match, positionally, with what I see can be off putting. John Hargreaves Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 One of the things I love most about my Warthog joystick is the feel of cold metal as you touch it. I think those physical sensations are even more important in VR, and probably more noticeable too. i7-7700K/Gigabyte RTX2080/Win10 64bit/32Gb RAM/Asus Xonar DX+Sennheiser HD380pro headphones/LG 34" UM65 @2560x1080/TM Warthog+VKB MkIV Rudder pedals/Rift CV1

Romi_da_homie Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Alright so i've returned to this thread after trying everything, DCS works fine without my oculus plugged in. ive checked all the buttons in the vr tab but whenever the oculus is plugged in the resolution changes on my desktop and i am stuck listening to the menu music through my rift while staring at a black loading sign image. This is quite a frustrating problem.
Rocky49 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Are you running the Beta Oculus software? I had some issue with Oculus and DCS 2.5 Until I reverted to the standard Oculus software. Had sound without video, just a black headset, my monitor screen still had video. Trust me , flying without stable reference for your hand(i.e. physical stick) will make for some very clumsy flying, especially helicopter flying. It would be downright stupid for a true sim like DCS to take that wii-type route.

SGT Coyle Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 (edited) Goto settings, controls, and in the left pulldown menu where you can choose an aircraft, go down to UI layer. You can set mouse, vr zoom, etc... Thanks, I'm not looking to set "VR Zoom", I'm looking to set the Left mouse button to my slew button on WH, for flipping switches. Same for Right mouse button... Basically, emulate mouse buttons with WH buttons. In lue of that I'm just going to make my own mouse. Edited February 3, 2018 by SGT Coyle Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS

SGT Coyle Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 That's exactly what GurbY told you how to do. I had tried that before when suggested and couldn't set any of the UI layered settings. Must have had "Hand Controllers" set on, and "Mouse" off. But I see they're settable now. Thanks, Sorry GurbY, Sometimes this thing can drive you nuts. Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS

This is quite a frustrating problem. If you don't normally, try starting the Oculus software before starting DCS. As another post suggested returning to the older Oculus software, I'm running the latest without problems. I do find that some games require the Oculus software running first though whereas in the past that was never required. I would just fire up any game and Oculus client would start up then the game would start up. My Missions: Valley Patrol Mission :: Valley Escort Mission :: A2A Engagements
BlacleyCole Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I’m using dcs in VR without oculus no problems. The Integrator Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hey, I'm thinking about getting an Oculus, primarily for DCS. I have heard very positive things about it but have read a few concerning things about the difficulty of spotting targets. Generally these were from a year or so ago, has this improved and how is it in 2.5? Also I've heard that the relatively low resolution of VR means that reading cockpit instruments can be difficult. Is the scale of this problem exaggerated and how far can things like variable pixel density address this? Thanks Eagerly anticipating DCS: Space Shuttle

Is the scale of this problem exaggerated and how far can things like variable pixel density address this? ThanksAll this is still true. Spotting target is possible, but for sure more difficult than on a screen. And yes, most instruments are difficult to read. This can indeed be improved by increasing pixel density, but there is no miracle and it's still difficult. Also, you should have a very high end computer. So, VR in DCS is very far from perfect. But for sure the immersion is just amazing.
