Layers are usually part of a .psd template. That's very convenient when available, but they're not always available.

 

The files in the liveries folder are going to be .dds files - no layers. You need a program that can open .dds files. Here's a free one that works great:

 

Ah yes... slowly starting to come back to this increasingly aging mind...

 

...(snipped for brevity's sake)You can also work with alpha channels and save dds files in other formats, such as 24-bit bitmap. It let's you pretty much manipulate everything and best of all, it's free. Give it a shot.

 

Yeah, a bit over my simple head at the moment and too much other RL stuff going on to get into it on that level. I know, it's a very superficial level but life is that hectic right now. Just taking a break from cutting/splitting/stacking 3 chords of wood on my day off... But I can handle the simple stuff you mentioned about erasing. :D

 

But one caveat - make a copy of the file you intend to modify and use that for your changes. That way you don't screw up your default files.

 

Oh yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way a few decades ago after losing important data. Backups and numerous copies are the order of the day!

 

If you don't have a sophisticated paint program, Gimp is good and it's free.

 

Thanks. I actually have paint/net and Gimp and they look very good and have served what little tasked I've used them for over the years. I hear you about being set in your ways, I'm not willing to admit that I'm getting old yet (58 here) as I don't want to start feeling that way! :)

Area 51 had a teleport accident.

 

Actually wasn't too hard, I created a trigger zone for where I wanted the ship and use a script to spawn the carrier there. The sim treats it like a structure. While you can't launch jets and land them on the wires, you can easily practice heli landings and takeoffs.

 

How did you get a carrier into NTTR? Mod?

What FPS u get with this graphics ?

i have the some hardware and your graphics is outstanding!

 

Around 30ish (+/-) over the strip, 45-80fps outside of Vegas depending on the area.

 

I do need a new PC though, definitely getting it to its limit with Nevada.
