I lost one MiG21 activation. Thus you should deactivate the MiG before updating...

Cool, thanks for letting me know. MiG-21 deactivated. What about the F-5E or other modules?

I am having several problems since updating.

One is that often (but not always) windows taskbar shows up on top of DCS (I run DCS with native resolution with the "full screen" option unchecked).

The other problem is that sometimes DCS does not want to start all. The DCS process shows up in the task list but the GUI does not come up.

The other problem is that sometimes DCS does not want to start all. The DCS process shows up in the task list but the GUI does not come up.

I had this behavior when I found out later it had to do with serial number checking.

I finally simply deleted the DCS dir and installed a new fresh one (I have my 'Saved Games' profiles all backed up to two dozen or so back-versions).

It seems 'the GUI does not come up' is a hidden state where a broken SN check is performed - and abandoned -, so somehow the link to the SN's in the registry are broken.

Yeah it seems to have horked DCS Simple Radio and caused random DCS crashes...YAMMV

Worst update ever... for me at least :noexpression:

Apart from loosing a MiG-21 activation I have encountered random freezes(sudden 100% SSD usage with 0 read/write speed)which after lurking on the internet i luckily fixed.

No issues at all with Win10 itself. The loss of MiG-21 lic is an issue from MiG21 module, not MS btw.

Running 10 v1607 on multiple machines without any glitches.

Usually caused by AntiVirus and/or lots of USB devices connected.

Deinstall the 1st and unplugg the later and try again if you happen to find yourself again in a reboot loop.

Win10 upgr-routine should have fallen back to the current build and not force you to reinstall.

I had about a dozen o broken Win10 upgrades but ALL fixed themselves with rollback to previous build ( the one it wanted to superseed ). Never any issue on many diff. machines.

Everything went fine, just having problems to get use to the new startmenu, again..... Why they can't learn that people don't want to get things changed all the time?

Would like to see a individual wallpaper for each virtual desktop, but those are just little nitpickings.

What comes to DCS, I didn't activate modules on Windows 10 upgrade so it was easy.

No issues encountered on my crappy 5 year old laptop. The install took a long time (an hour?) and my laptop tends to blue screen every once in a while due to hardware problems so I was a little nervous doing it.

Oh well... I have an i7 6700, 32GB, GTX980 with 2 950 pro SSD's in a laptop waiting for me. Playing DCS is going to be sweeeet as of next week. :D. (excuse me for boasting... it's been like living in a dessert for the past 4 years).

I have high hopes that Win10 will not let me down.

I upgraded and had no problems whatsoever. I noticed my PC being a bit more snappy and overal faster. Before the update, it spent about 1 min on the blue login screen, now it doesnt do that anymore and overal startup time is super fast.

Has anybody found a workaround/hack to get rid of the silly lock-screen that you have to click away before you can actually enter your credentials to log in?

I used to be able to remove that previously, but MS removed that ability (even for PRO users)....

Put it on 3 days ago, and took it off due to too many small, irritating issues with the Windows part. No issues with DCSW that I could ascertain. Will NOT install the Anniversary Update when it tries via Windows update. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!"

4 computers out of 5 (between mine, my girlfriends, and a friend) the install went fine.

The 5th was a royal pain and I had to remove the disks for storage, vm's, and backups, leaving just the system disk and install the update, then add the other disks back and fix my stuff.

No problems whatsoever with DCS:W and even noticed disk utilization go down after I did the disk clean up and removed all the old system files.

Well I do not want any problems so I ticked "defer updates", so you only get the critical ones. While it may not play up, I have seen enough posts here to make me wary of it for now.

So thankyou all for the heads up.

Same problems here, Mig21 reactivation (not really a big deal for me) but the alt+tab is interminent now and will sometimes now even work or just leave the taskbar up.
