so the spitfire is it worth me buying this as I already have the P-51

(I dont need both right? )

 

I'm more interested the new ww2 map & dx11 updates etc

I'm pretty sure that facebook post with the new shader images said the new lighting was coming to the Nevada update. Perhaps ED meant with 2.5, I just got the impression it was coming with Nevada, due later this year. Thoughts?

Yeah, but I was wondering what he meant. It sounded like he was listing improvements to the game, has any new info been released about them? Or were they added in 1.5.5 but not in the changelog?

Is there a full breakdown of what was updated or added not just the brief and uninformative update in the CL. AFAIK a large update is there for the M2K that captainsmiley touched on but wasn't in the official patch notes.

I discover a 3D modelling error on the 3M54E antiship missile.

After making my release version a open beta ver. I had MP integrity check failure for multiple modules. Before updating I deactivated all my mods, repair didn't help.

 

I had to reinstall them quickly (thanks to SkateZilla's tool!<3) and everything works now. Just a quick heads up if anyone else has the problem.

I wouldn't fix this to any version or "update". From what I've seen over the last years, little upgrades and enhancements come all the time. Sometimes in a patch, sometimes in intermediate version releases, sometimes in a major release.

 

So whenever something is ready for the release, working with either 1.5, or 2.0 or both, we may be lucky and get it.

 

I understood Wags announcements more like 2.5 will be the merge of both Caucasus and Nevada (maybe future maps), as soon as the old Caucasus map is reworked enough to be run in the new 2.0 engine.

Parts of the new engine seem to be already working with 1.5 (todays beta, grass renderer?) and be available before 2.5

 

Like with most things DCS, you need patience and be not too hooked on specifics, before they are released for good.

 

This is utterly complex software so changes and delays are to be expected... and while I wait for the Spitfire I enjoy the Hawk Upgrade from my rear seat . :D

You dont need to uninstall or deactivate when switching between branches.

Hm...when i start the open beta there is no update goin on...it just starts normally in 1.5.4.... and wont update as it seems. Any ideas whats wrong? And yes, i speak about the beta and not the standalone version :P

Did you try force update? Usually in the CM menu update dcs world open beta?

Open your DCS World OpenBeta\bin folder. Shift + rightclick anywhere in the folder, select Open command window here.

This will open cmd. Type dcs_updater.exe update and press enter.

I think you misunderstand what I said because of the common 'module/mods' confusion in DCS. :) I deactivate user mods via JSGME between patches for obvious reasons.

Yeah, Deactivate those, and run repair before updating,

 

As some of the Object mods make changes to other files (shape tables etc etc). which causes db_mods error in the log and DCS Failing IC or to Launch.

Yes you need both...what pilot worth his wings would not want to fly the Spitfire!!!
