Just curious, will this model be placed over an aircraft already in the game, or will this be an additional plane added by the Mod? I guess what I am asking is, when we go into the settings, to set up our key bindings and axis settings, will we be doing that on an A-4 page, or will it be on some other plane that is already in the game?

Yes, it is its own separate plane, with a separate keybind/axis section. Hope that helps!

Dedicated to gyro! Great work gyro! We miss you!

Thanks to everyone who continues to make this possible! Quite an update! I'll mention that I couldn't possibly feel one iota more proud of gryo! Phenomenal coding navigation, and LeatherNeck has gained a serious innovator! Getting a spotlight on the abilities of individuals from the hoggit pool represents a foundational initiative and one that I take pleasure in seeing fulfilled! Certainly disappointed to say goodbye to such a team player and gentlemen!

Will buddy refueling be also added as a capability? I really hope so.

We've done a ton of experimentation, and no success thus far. It would appear to be an AI-only capability, or maybe requires something in the ASM that we don't have access to.

We will have the D-704 buddy refueling store with drogue modeled, but don't expect it to be functional.

I think even AI refuelling capability for the A-4 is fine, I just hope it's there

You guys are AWESOME!!!! Thank you for all of your work on this. I would really love to have this refueling ability but if it turns out to be only available through an AI plane, so be it. Thanks for trying anyway.

We looked into how the S-3 was constructed, and are copying some of its techniques. Hopefully we can get it to work.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to gospadin again.

Setting Aircraft as an AI Tanker doesnt work without linking it to a pre-existing tanker (S-3R, KC-130, IL-78, etc)

But as soon as you modify the connect points data in your aircraft's data block, it will break the function.

I made a separate aircraft lua for AI Tanker, and it wouldnt work unless a pre-defined tanker World ID was assigned to it.

As I understood it will be in-between. Clickable cockpit advanced systems such as ground radar, as much as possible without SDK access, but for that reason a flight model based on the FC3 SFM. Though it seems they really push it to the limits ;)

Anyway a welcome and most interesting addition to DCS.

And unbelievably detailed for a "simple" community mod.

To me it looks like it can show to ED what is possible with FC3 beyond "not clickable" (hint, hint: F-15C/Su-27/MiG-29) :music_whistling:

Thus far, we have done our best to push the limits, and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback that we appreciate. Our ability to do an EFM is probably there from a skill perspective, but to be honest, it doesn't seem that important to us right now since we don't also have SDK access for the advanced systems modeling. Maybe that's something that can be worked out with ED in the future, but for now, we're sticking to our original goal of "free release of SFM + as much systems modeling as we can do without the SDK." The SFM isn't perfect, but for most of the flight envelope it's pretty darn good.

I also would like to point out however that most of the FC3 planes (except for the MiG-29 and Su-33) use PFM, which is a very advanced flight model. FC3 systems modeling is simplified, and they're not clickable, but they fly very accurately.
