The official name of the module is Su-27 for DCS World I have seen them referencing the FC3 Su-27 as Su-27S Flanker before. Besides, how important change to FC3 module would be needed to end up in weekly news?

Su-27S coming from Lomac/FC. Dont expected a more modern Su-27 yet by russian military stament dont aprove them. Meanwhile, ED expected build a Mig-29A full hardcore module.

Well Im guessing new modules will fall under this too, so try the Hind, Apache etc, before buying. So can give it a go and see if the given state of EA meets personal requirements, and then try again in 6 months later if it didnt, and see how it is then.

I would be extremely surprised if this were to be the case... but then again, happy to be proven wrong

You can’t try multiple modules at once, each one with his 14 days each or you must try once by once (first one, after 14 days or more another…)

Apart from the beta branch being moved to release (which is par for the course I guess) and the new tryout scheme, this has been another rather underwhelming newsletter. Absolutely no news on new and anticipated modules, and upcoming features and very little about some long-awaited fixes for existing modules. Oh well, see you next week I guess

Did I get this right? I can play any module (no campaigns of course) for free for 14 days each and 6 months after a period I get a new one for 14 days? Sounds... awesome. And 50% off for first purchase for a new player? Got to convince the rest of the family to fly too I guess...

Well, it's good news for the long-term health of DCS, as it should (hopefully) attract lots of new players, but the "This weeks newsletter will be a big one" message created a lot of unnecessary hype from the viewpoint of the existing player-base. It's quite normal for people to be disappointed: I also expected a major announcement on the DCS core, such as Vulkan/multicore being almost ready, or news on the dynamic campaign engine, ...
