Are we getting a patch today?

As the trend has been going lately, it is time for the OB to be updated if there is an update today.

Don't be surprised if there isn't one. There could always be problems with the build thus pushing a scheduled release out.

I'd say there is a good 50% chance we get a patch today.

Yeah just wondering if plans have changed as we'd normally have the patch notes by now and Wags had been doing video previews before the patch (or text updates in the Hornet forum) but nothing this time - it's been eerily quiet.

DCS Update Patch Notes Discussion Thread

They’ve been sticking pretty diligently to their “one week OB, next week push to Stable, Wednesday is update and Friday is hotfix”, even when it meant pushing major unfixed bugs from OB to Stable last week, so I’d expect they stick to it today and give us an update.

If not, they would still have Friday to achieve the “end of August” commitments for the Hornet.

Let’s wait and see

Im pretty sure all the commitments were done already. What is left?

So, I don't see this as a commitment, more a guide of what to expect, but this is the list of stuff they said they were working on for July and August in the Newsletter at the end of July (and they say the JHMCS will come after in August/September, so you can kinda assume they were planning to deliver this list in August):

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Update

Each two week cycle we are adding more and more new features to the Hornet while addressing bugs as they pop up. Our current focus for the rest of July and next month is on the following:

  • Complete the AIM-7 with addition of FLOOD, Home On Jam (HOJ), and LOFT sub-modes.
  • Integrate AIM-120B/C for STT employment (TWS employment will come later).
  • Integrate AIM-9X Block I. This includes both flight dynamics and new tones. Afterwards, in August or September, we will add the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS).
  • Complete RWS air-to-air radar mode with such features as Non-Cooperative Target Recognition (NCTR), AACQ mode, Latent Track While Scan (LTWS) mode, Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF) settings, ability to change radar settings with TDC along outside of radar tactical area, radar speed gate setting, COLOR option, and more.
  • Complete radar warning receiver functionality with contact symbols and modifiers, EW HUD, and the OFFSET function.
  • Integrate Paveway II series laser-guided bombs (GBU-10, 12, and 16) with JTAC designation.
  • Further tuning of flight model with touch and go performance, gear drag, half flaps drag, takeoff pitch characteristics, and extreme angle of attack performance.
  • Brightness control for the HSI display.
  • Multiplayer carrier deck spawning issues.
  • Wingtip vortices errors at low airspeed.

There are certainly more items that we will be addressing over the next month. This is just a list of 10 of them.

Of those, the items left are (as far as I can tell):

  • Complete RWS air-to-air radar mode with such features as Non-Cooperative Target Recognition (NCTR), Latent Track While Scan (LTWS) mode, COLOR option, and more.
  • Integrate Paveway II series laser-guided bombs (GBU-10, 12, and 16) with JTAC designation.

There are other things worthy of a patch though - we know they've got tweaks to the AIM-9X (up to 90 degrees HOBS and more flare rejection), AIM-7/AIM-120 missile guidance improvements and a fix for the Harrier Mav E crash ready to go.

Its here. Hopefully it's like the last patch where most (all?) updates to the Hornet were omitted.
