Shadow KT Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Maybe after this big wave of modules comes out, e.g: The Hornet, The Tomcat, The Harrier, even the F-4 Phantom II and the Hind, lets not forget the terrains as well, ED should focus on the AI logic and player interaction in real time such as the ATC, AWACS, JTAC, ect. And the mission building and planing in-game (dynamic as well). Update the old, classic modules (textures, bugs, systems). With all these modules coming out we will really have the ground to make some complex and immersive battlefields. A-10s being used as OA-10s ^.^ and so on. Just a thought out there, maybe you think they should just keep making modules :). 2 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I bet when 2.5 is deployed ED will focus his main effort into a deep and strong update of DCS base core features, bug fixing and improved perfomance, stability, net code, etc. Like hey, we finally have our awaited base DCS, we will take a deep breath and lets start to polish and improve our core simulator before adding more things. Solty Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I think that this whole AI interaction update should be postponed as well. We still need damage model overhaul and new effects and better sound system. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]In 21st century there is only war and ponies. I believe the AI should be priority, updating damage models is part of the polishing we were talking about, and with EDGE and DCS 2.5 Coming around I don't think more visual and sound updates need to be pushed 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
diditopgun Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Yes AI and radio coms should be the priority. Currently DCS is an empty and silent world with the worst flight sim's IA. Exorcet Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I think that this whole AI interaction update should be postponed as well. We still need damage model overhaul and new effects and better sound system. I'm curious as to why you would consider the damage modeling a priority over AI. To me they're the same thing. Having only one or the other won't be nearly as impressive as having both. Even more so if the AI update includes GCI, flight/package coordination, etc. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

Chrinik Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Unfortunately, taking a break from releasing modules and fixing on the base core, while appreciated, does not make them money and is thus unsustainable. They have to keep making the dosh so they can keep making free stuff for us. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] GCI: "Control to SEAD: Enemy SAM site 190 for 30, cleared to engage" Striker: "Copy, say Altitude?" MikeMikeJuliet Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 ED and/Wags have stated quite recently that AI is being worked on as we speak, so is damage model, and a new ATC system has been promised a long time ago. So all of these issues are already in the pipeline. No disrespect, but I wonder if anyone here have read a single post that has been given from the officials recently. Here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191622 Regards, MikeMikeJuliet DCS Finland | SF squadron
Shadow KT Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 Yes, at least I do. But as I have written in the first post, by the time all those modules have gotten out, probably an year and a half or even more would have past. So there is a big window to work on them + that they already are. It is more of a support showing for the idea I guess 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days

Here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191622 Regards, MikeMikeJuliet I've read it too. I just hope they make it so when an enemy AI is damaged they don't fly along as if nothing happened. If I start bobbing around due to a little damage on my wing they should be bobbing around if there's a hole in theirs. Here's an example of an AI P-51 I damaged and he still could fly straight & level and, as seen in the screenshot, make perfect turns to follow waypoints. I took just a little damage to the wing of my Fw-190 and could barely keep it from spinning during a fight with a Spitfire.
