Glad to see you solved your issue.

Reading this:

I just would like to remind you that the PCN only displays PREP data.

It's something that may not be natural when you start with the Mirage.

PREP 00 being your own coordinates, you can only edit it on the ground for alignment.

Quick question for you guys. Is there a way to do a quick and dirty return to base? Prep 00 can only be edited on the ground as you say jojo, but if you want to return to base (ie to Prep 00) once you are past waypoint 1, how do you do that?

Waypoint 00 is not your base/homeplate !! It's your current position, and you can edit it in-flight but it's not very useful.

The mirage does not have a RTB function, you have to use TACAN, VOR or a standard waypoint to navigate to an airbase.

If you're in range, you can use the ground TACAN stations. If not, you may want to catch the signal of the nearest station. You can also do an offset from TACAN station. I believe the offset navigation mode is "VAD" ?

Step 20 in 'Before Engine Start' Checklist mentions: VOR/ILS & TACAN SET (Depart. airbase)

I guess it's meant to do a quick (but no dirty) RTB using TAC mode on IDN (HSI), and ILS via APP Mode, if available of course at departure Airbase

If you really want a 'dirty' way to RTB: Echap/Ok/Fly Again :D

I am not sure what the clock update pretended, but now the second hand in the center counts to 15 and then resets to 0.

Also, the Special modes - Unlock keybinding (= Backspace) disappeared in my installation. Am I the only one?

When editing waypoints on the ground, just set you WP1 as RTB WP from the WP00 coords, should get you close enought to visual pattern. Or if you want to do it the right way, i think, check kneeboard for AFB coords, enter them before anything else, still as WP1. Same-same, but different.

Im so happy that I found DCS, the free time i might have had - gone :suspect:

What is also important to note, and forgive me if I'm giving redundant information here, that 00 is not your "initial position" (for aligning it is of course, since you don't move), but your CURRENT POSITION. It is changing dynamically. So you initially need to tell the INS where you are (set 00), and then set any reference points with WP 01-20, you can do this while aligning btw., just let the mode selector stay on ALGN, the PCN can be operated normally.

Again sorry if you already knew this but the way you worded your question made me think I should clarify this.

Yes. You could say the chance for a fix to INS update and fuel tank has vaporized.

flo0o:

yeah, but today we got vapor effects instead :bounce:

Here no vapor effect for my Open Beta DCS 2.5.1.16978 Update 1.

OBS: It must be the vapor at the tip of the wings.
