As long as it keeps the annoying "VR Hands/Gloves" from constantly showing on screen...that is the worst :music_whistling:

Whats the "IPD Distance" thinger?

 

If you perceive the world too small or too big, then you can adjust the games IPD - set to match you headsets for example, that you calibrate/set during the setup (for Oculus, not sure how it works with Vive etc). Some titles call it World Scale.

So when we sometimes think the troops on the ground are slightly smaller than expected in RL we can alter it?

Well that is what Im hoping for, cause my DCS World is a tad small. Even the troops. I match their height alright, but it still feels like Im looking at a kid / toy. Same for the vehicles. Cockpits too, but I have little to no experience with their size in real life. But the seat, switches, just everything feels off scale to me, again as if Im a giant in there - though Im very sure that the actual scale is correct.

IPD, at least in relation to the Rift = Interpupillary Distance.

One adjusts it on the Rift with a slider to give the best and clearest image.

 

Not sure how an IPD setting within the game would affect the size of the world...

So what ED is giving us is "Virtual IPD - This is the distance between the cameras (or virtual eyes) in the virtual world. We shall see that this distance completely determines the sense of scale of objects in relation to you."

Matt, have you heard about the somewhat common IMU alignment problem that causes Rift users to see a perpetually tilted horizon? You should consider adding the ability to manually bias tracking tilt if the SDK allows it. In most VR experiences it matters only a little, but in flight sims where one naturally visually levels the horizon, it can be a real pain. Thanks for the preview.
