I'm adding aircraft as static objects and linking them to the carrier but they are spawning on the sea bed under the boat. Any tips anyone?

Noticed there was a bit of a bug on the carrier with multiple hornets parking in the same spaces.

Hey Wags,

 

One other thing I know your busy and the Hornet is MOST excellent. Will there be provision to spawn people in parking spots after that parking spot and/or catapult has been vacated ? Please say yes.

Hey Wags. You guys have done an amazing job.

 

In reference to the Carrier parking comment, I've noticed in MP that client placed aircraft spawn on top of each other at random. Regardless of parking stall selected. It appeared to be random though.. every once in a while it will work. AI placed seem to work fine.

 

Currently, the only way to put 4 aircraft on deck is to set as Takeoff From Ramp. Hope this helps identify any possible issues.

I can confrim the spawn problem. Aircraft would spawn close to each other and damge/explode the others. We had to spawn start up and then leave the spawn area for the next one in order to prevent this.

We experienced it in self-made multiplayer mission, f-18s spawned inside each other, with differences in coordinates just about 1 feet. Two or three of four slots has been occupied. I can send you mission file if needed.

I can confirm this. We have 4+ slots for the Stennis and they all spawn in the same place. If someone attempts to spawn in while another is spawned in already, then they will overlap and explode.

 

 

These slots are CLIENT set to START ON RAMP.

 

 

 

The only parking option I get in the editor for these slots is "Auto"

For static object placement, I just modified the Carrier Takeoff mission.

Sure. See attachment. You might want to remove that extra Lot20 static object. Right now they're a fps killer.

Could you explain he modifications via the Mission Editor? Thanks for the MIZ file though.

 

 

NOTE: Figured it out. Just add static aircraft using most expanded scale and proper heading with Link Unit = Carrier Unit and Link Fixation set. Icon is forward centerline of Carrier.
