Guys, at no point in my post did I state ED WILL NOT transfer our points to the new system, I just asked if my understanding of it was correct, which since the post doesn’t mention any transfer but a expiration date being implemented some time in 2019 is that they would disappear after that date.

Please don’t get yourselves all wound up and upset at the moment, because there is a fair chance I have understood it wrong.

Hence the question with 2 options. Will our points disappear or will they transfer them to the new system?

I’m hoping ED will see this and provide us with a clear yes / no answer.

Please I don’t want this to turn into a pitchforks at dawn post, as at the moment we are only assuming what the discription means.

The way I read the new letter its use it or lose it by a time TBD in 2019. If I lose them I'm not going to grab my pitchfork, but I think a 1 to 2 conversion would be fair since the new system is so much less restrictive.

Actually ... where do we see how much bonus dollar we have? I was not able to see it on the site.... I bought 389$ worth of maps, aircraft and campaigns this year alone. So I guess I should have some bonus point aside but never knew how much...

Great to see a Bonus system overhaul.

I did see one ok idea on the hoggit thread. The idea of allowing us to use our current bonus beyond the 20-30% max we have right now to get rid of them. Also nineline said something about looking at what to do with those who’s points would have lasted infer than whatever 2019 date they choose

The only way I know of is to select a product I don't own and follow it through the "cart" purchase process. When you get to the pay stage it shows how much bonus money you have.

Hi all,

Noob question from a LOMAC veteran - I have $40 bonus dollars saved. Can I use it towards the F14 module?

If not, what can I actually do with it?

Posted (edited)
Bye bye to me 110$ bonus, thank ED.

Please tell me how you accumulated 110$ Bonus points without spending some…

I own every module and was barely able to spend all of my points since you can only spend a fixed amount. Knowing that this points will expire in the old system I can't imagine how you could be able to accomplish this :music_whistling:

If you forgot it during every checkout maybe?

A lot of us have been buying ED products for many years and have various amounts in bonus bucks at this point. ED suggest that will simply dissapear meaning our loyalty bounus will simply be gone. Sure go forward we would gain the same as anyone but it seems disingenuous to people here that we simply loose those bonus dollars.

Even in the old system the bonus expired if it was not used. The times were 4 planes were released per year are long gone so everybody should have been aware to get rid of his/her bonus points. I personally see no problem and it is a big miracle to me how people can sum up these values knowing that they can only spend 20-30% of a new module price in bonus currency. It was never meant (until the current rework) to pay a whole module with bonus Points...

As you can see your bonus expire in less than one year, please tell me how you would like to spend it knowing that you can only pay a small amount of a module with it? I suppose you never used a bonus payment, correct?

Maybe you can spend 20 bucks for the F-16 but even if ED does not change the system you will loose all in Q1/2020. This isn't something you can blame ED for...

We are watching feedback, but understand it is a two-way street as well, with the less restricted system we can't just do a 1:1 conversion either, the systems are different and not compatible. But feedback will be passed along.

Fair enough. I don't think anybody is looking for a 1:1, just something that says, hey, thanks for the support.

Bonus points expired only if you haven't bought anything. If you bought something that added to the bonus, even 1$, that moved the expiration date forward by one year. So it was perfectly possible to accumulate a lot of bonus $ over several years that did not expire.

Point is, those who balanced their spending between preorders, post-release purchases and promotions, probably have a more or less neutral balance. But paradoxically, the most loyal customers who bought everything during preorders had a hard time to use the accumulated bonus in the old system, and now will suffer the most from transition to the new system.

Nine line,

As these are 2 separate systems, would it be possible to set up a means of using the bonus points to "purchase" ED miles?

Well a couple people want 1:1, but we will look at what we can do that is reasonable ;)

Sorry, that is lame. You (ED) can do anything you want. These are just numbers which can be moved with a few simple lines of code. Willingness is a different matter.

Hello FSKRipper,

this is my personal situation:

aVAPjT2.png

First of all, I want you to know that I also have all the modules that are present in DCS.

Then specifically, I would like to inform you that it has not always been possible to use the accumulated bonuses. I have always bought the modules on the first day and this is the main problem, because in order to use the bonuses I would have to wait a long time and I wanted to have the module on the first day.

Read here:

CUSTOMER BONUS SYSTEM THE FIGHTER COLLECTION AND EAGLE DYNAMICS! Starting February, 20, 2014, digitalcombatsimulator.com offers our loyal customers a new bonus system that provides discounts with each DCS product purchase.

When purchasing a DCS product a full price, you will receive a bonus based on the price of the purchased DCS product(s). The more you buy, the greater the bonus you receive.

Bonuses will not expire as long as there is a purchase from the DCS e-shop during a period no greater than one year.

In this case, the effective rule is 4.10.

I really hope that the ED finds a better solution instead of simply canceling our bonuses. Personally, if things remain that way and the accumulated bonuses were not at least partially converted, I would be very disappointed. If I was not able to use the bonuses from the first day of the sale of a module, it was not my fault.

I think most have been going with an option to spend them all "now or in the next x months" or to 2:1 conversion

If I was able to spend 100% of my points in a single purchase over the next 6 months or so I would be good... Or to get $1 for ever $2 I have now since this would be in line with the new less restrictive offering.

We know it can be a 1:1 but make sure it's fair and respects those most loyal.
