those who are willing to have g force feedback other then the airframe shaking and noises, should invest in a haptic pad for a chair or some bass shakers.

it's an amazing piece of hardware that truly adds immersion.

Can anyone recommend a good chair? I looked for one on Amazon but they dont seem to sell any. Jetseat from what I can tell online seems to be unavailable or no longer produced.

I like a lot my Markus chair over any other gaming chairs. It is very fresh in summer (something needed in Spain) and the back is fully adjustable and can be locked at multiple positions (or can be set loose and adapts to your movements which i love).

Wait, is that what you are asking?...XD

I have a dedicated rio so I usually ask for my speed when needed. Truth is , its really NOT needed in the hud.

landing is easy, use the E bracket, when in a dog fight does anyone really need a speed indicator anyway? only time I use the gauge or would like it in my hud is bombing.

Don't use the E bracket. Use the AOA Indicator and Indexer.

Is this realistic??? Maybe for the A.....but the B had the upgrade that added airspeed and altitude data to the HUD....right? Someone please tell me I am right...or wrong?

With this bastard 54 Phoenix no one can get closer of you! You Will be 100% safe inside the F-14 when you still fly at high altitude and have 54's, and a good radar operator.

In DCS is necessary to know the speed before a maneuver since you can over g the plane really easily, the DCS F-14 gives a real bad feedback about this.

Pretty sure if you were flying the real thing, the pilot would have a pretty good feel for the limitations of his air frame, it would be almost impossible to replicate that realistically in a sim, without a super deluxe setup on gimbals, that can produce g-force effect.

I don't know if its possible in the game, but if we had a dinamic curve for the joystick axis (afected by speed) it would be more realistic without the need to buy fancy stuff like a special chair and force feedback.

Simply listen to the airframe. The audible feedback is fantastic and gives you all the necessary cues.

It sounds like a box cart held together with some twine speeding down the steepest neighborhood hill. The airframe sound effects are really stellar.

Airspeed? Nah, who needs it...... But i would pay the plane captain something extra for a new altitude indicator. That thing's nearly impossible to read.

Really, the altitude indicator? It's one of the easiest instruments for me to read. And being analogue, it gives you more information that just altitude. You also get an idea of altitude change from the movement and speed of the needle. I'm just now getting used to the Knots/Machs airspeed indicator.

Yeah, go and figure that out! :(

What are your settings? I mean graphics? I can't see s***, especially when the sun is out in my back or above. I usually have to zoom in like....dunno, until the windshield frame is about 2/3rds of my vertical before i can read it clearly.

Keeping in mind that the Bug HUD was designed to be the primary flight instrument I much prefer the Bug

I real life the Tomcat gauges might be easy to read but in the sim even on my 27” monitor I can barely read them.

Hey, man, no judgement intended. I have some experience flying for real, so what I am used to is what looks and behaves like what I know, which is analogue steam gauges. Altimeters have a tendency to look alike.

My graphics are set to max, but my resolution is only 1920x1080. Any sharper and I get a headache after a while. VR does it to.
