Strange bug - when I spool the engine to 60% as told, when the engine light comes off and low oxy comes up - a very loud static noise like from the radio appears until the end of the mission. No way to turn it off

As soon as the engine spools up and stabilizes to idle a loud hissing noise appears (similar to a radio static). It happens on both open and closed canopy, same volume. Looked around the cockpit, radios/tacan seems to be off.. Any idea what can that be?

Turn the Comm 1 and Comm 2 Squelch on. Just behind the Comm volume knobs.

Still should it be producing sound while the radios are still off?

Just turn down the big com knobs for now.

Radios in OFF position need squelch...? -> Bug.

Just had the same experience, had my ears almost bleed while Wags was talking me further down the start procedure with his narrators voice... ah so much fun already (was cruisin down the landscape, too since I hadn't set my brakes nor throttle axis, too haha)

the intercom is turned up on start, just turn it down

Turning the intercom down also mutes the audio cautions during testing, surely that shouldn't be?

As far as I can tell the SQLCH and OFF logic is reversed. Squelch should give you static noise, not the off position.

Sounds like it's not squelching. If you turn the com1/com2 volume knobs all the way down, it goes away.

Turn the Audio1/2 knobs to SQ/GD to enable squelch , page 29 of the early access manual has a picture

Put radio squelch on. it's under the volume knobs.

firstly this shouldn't happen with the radio off. and secondly those knobs should be in SQ position to begin with.

I found that turning intercom off fixes the issue without turning comm1 and comm2 down

Intercom is the culprit, from the two startups I've done.

The comm squelch should be a higher default value to mitigate this, I've had the same issue. :P

If you switch to SQL mostly goes away. Volume Knobs will do the rest.
