streakeagle Posted June 12, 2020 Share Posted June 12, 2020 From my perspective there are five major geographic areas involving jet air combat that should be in any game trying to replicate history: Korea, Vietnam, Israel, Iran/Iraq, and India. The Syria map covers Israel, so it most certainly belongs. Of course, having a map is one thing, having period ground objects, AI aircraft, and flyable aircraft is another. I am more interested in F-4s and Mirage IIIs than F-15s and F-16s. So, the map will be of limited value to me. The best I can do is fly the MiG-19P and MiG-21bis against AI F-4s, or maybe fly the A-4 mod with AI F-4 escorts. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Is Amann or Tel-Aviv in the South included ? From the screenshots it looks like it takes place in modern days Syria (at least before the destruction of Palmyra by ISIS I hope). I just hope the map goes far enough west to include the airbases on Cyprus as well. Would open up for a lot more scenarios. -Col. No, it is beyond the scope of this map at release. While it may be possible in the future if sales are strong, it is not currently planned. Tel Aviv is not on the list of major cities, and they say it will be set in modern times... What cities are included? Major cities that are created in detail with unique landmarks include Damascus, Tripoli, Latakia, Tartus, Homs, Aleppo, Hamah, Palmyra, Haifa, Acre, Beirut, Incirlik/Adana and more. Because it can't be included, if not for political reasons then just waiting to get "extension" for better sales (as stated). As without it locating in that area, the map could have been extended even 600 km to the west with just empty ocean. And it would have opened very big Carrier operations from there. So now it is just 100 km from the coast of Syria to Cyprus, so not so much that one can use US carriers/fleet. The sales should be good (When the map is proper from detail etc.), since many people should be interested thanks to many fights around/in that area.
