I'm not using reshade.

i just copy the dll and yml file into the bin directory using a mod manager.

it replaces the OpenVRFSR

Hi @speed-of-heat, in your original post you wrote you were still on the fence about Reshade back then. If not using it anymore, what do you currently use for sharpening? I really notice a huge sharpness drop when I disable it.

Cheers,

What mod manger do you use? I'm pretty new to DCS and defintly want to use a mod manger. I love the Microsoft flight sim mod manager.

I use modmanfx, which I think is the same one you use for flightsim.

Hm trying the vr perf.kit I gain meaningful performance opposed to using the reshade/openvr fsr combo. My only gripe is that I really miss the colour corrections from reshade. Also I find the sharpening from reshade creates a somewhat calmer image, but I think it also could be because of the colour corrections. I’m back to using reshade/fsr combo. Is there a way to do colour corrections in tandem with using vr perf.kit? Both perf.kit and reshade use the dxgi.dll so they can’t be used together right?

Just FYI: the Toolkit is great, but if you play IL2, for example, it is considered a graphics mod and you will lose access to a lot of the multiplayer servers. I'm not sure if that is also the case for DCS multiplayer, since I just play on my dedicated server.

As far as I can tell the Toolkit does not impact multiplayer at all, as it adds a new DLL rather than replacing an existing DLL, it does not show up on the list of "troublesome" files

Ok good to know that it is fine for DCS multiplayer - I'm not sure why "the other sim" looks at it as something more invasive than just swapping out the openvr.dll with openfsr 😞 Oh well, DCS needs WAY more VR love than IL2 anyway, in terms of performance, so no biggie

Turns out I needed to just uninstall and then reinstall MRP and SteamVR to get them to function. Not sure why that was the case, but is what it is.

What are the best VR mod combos to use?

I applied the VRPerfKit, instead of OpenFSR, the VR Shaders mod for 2.7.9.17830, and the Shadows Reduced Frame Rate Impact.

I read about others but not at all sure what else would benefit/work? Maybe also the orig Reshade, or heat's Sharper Eye? And if one of those also, from what I understand would need to rename the dxgi.dll since PerfKit also has it.

And what about 3Dmigoto? Is that also an option to VRPerfkit?

I don’t like sharper eye/reshade as it for me introduces to much shimmer, I’m playing with 3DMigimoto, it works well, but I haven’t done any solid perf testing, visually I like it, but there is a awful amount of tuning to do with it.

It would be great if you share your settings, I 've dealt with migimoto before and it seems it takes too much time to tune.
