I am still learning but all I know is all those yellow target icons I see shown in images and in videos, I rarely see them like that on my end.

Usually I see a lot of nothing with an occasional red squiggly looking circle. And sometimes the yellow triangles up on top of the screen.

I don't see say the target icons on that display like I see in Wags overview video.

Could be I am doing something wrong but I change my aspect angle and adjust the elevation as well to try and help.

Usually with the minimal icons on I will pick them up that way off in the distance before I can even pick them up on the radar screen.

If you are talking about the bricks/target icons, that is the problem I am having as well.  We are not the only ones though...was hoping for an update to correct situational awareness.

Speaking of radar elevation and scan, it might be something wrong with the size of the bars on the f18, and thats why is soo difficult pick up target at close range: You can see that the 4 bars config on the 18 is narrower in comparison with 4 bars on the f16. Not just that but also the 6 bars on the f18 are narrower then 4 bars on the f16. I cant say for sure that something is wrong but I guess need some investigation at least.

4 bars f18: 40 miles : -9 till 22

4 bars f16 40 miles : -17 till 30

6 bars f18 40 miles: -14 till 27

The bars coverage in the Hornet is correct. The Viper has a non circular antenna that is wider than taller which results in an oval shaped taller beam, hence the larger coverage.

Next big patch will be with DCS 2.7 planned for the end of March at the moment.

Sadly, the release of 2.7 will be delayed again by a week. Currently planned release is the 14th April. 😔

Maybe that made possible to slip in something extra for the Hornet as well? At least Wags released the new video about Hornet and it felt like it would have been got ready just for next path but they could get it now for the 14th release?

I'd say, better late than broken,

really don't mind waiting for the proper patch.

Yea seems like exactly that happened, hope there is space for an extra Viper update ;D

At this moment it is better for F-16 fans that ED concentrates fully to Hornet, as sooner the Hornet is out of Early Access with all wanted features and in good condition, then more time and effort is moved to F-16 and it starts to be complete faster.

The announced new features are great, but I'm actually waiting since several months for certain bug fixes... 😞

Early access is a long process, the devs are working as hard as they can.

The entire ED team is doing a good job at an extremely high level. 👍

I'm glad that ED provides the early access modules, which makes it possible for us to use them several years before the planned release. In addition we can provide the development of the modules by purchasing them or delivering feedback.

Of course, the determination of the patch release intervals is not easy for you. Shorter intervals are likely to result in more errors, but longer waiting times annoy impatient users.

The last two months since last regular update on 17th february were a really long and hard time for us. I hope, you understand our position as well.🙂

The longer patch cycles have been really good for us testing wise, and personally feel it is much better now than ever, but yes we understand some want it as quickly as possible.

Delaying the patch again and again doesn´t  automatically mean, that more bugs will be fixed or more features will be added!

It´s a matter of credibility!

No one wants a patch as quickly as possible! But patience has it limits!  Better thing would be not to announce a date! Telling us, the patch will be released, when it´s ready, would be a better thing than always cancelling release dates!

So no one believes that the patch will be out next week!

I do not agree.

I prefer a generic date with some delay rather than no date.

And I think I'm not the only one.

ASAP does not mean "NOW", it means "As Soon As Possible" and the key word is "As Possible" and it includes as well to make sure that the work is done properly.

If your boss comes and say they want report on their table ASAP, it doesn't mean that instead writing a 20 page report you can just scribble 2 phrases and give it in two minutes.

ASAP means that more effort is put on the task to get it done right.

And if it means that delays must happen, it is fine as long you can explain the reason for the delay. As if the delay reason is that the person responsible for releasing the patch decided to go to buy some coffee and was not heard since then, then it is not a nice thing. But if it is reported that closed beta testers reported that the patch caused couple times a file integrity failure and required re-install, then most would be approving the delay.

IMHO the patch should already be ready and done and just waiting the release when the announcement is done for it. So there is no last minute testing or working for it at all when the schedule is given out in a week accuracy.

ED could release a "Cloud Patch" and chance's are, that most of the community if not the "whole" will be super happy. Just like it happen with 2.5.

But most of us do understand that you folks need time to get the things done properly 🙂
