mazex Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 After all these years we will finally have a good Apache... A year ago I had to boot my old Pentium 166 MMX to run some Janes AD-64D Longbow. And then back to the roots for some Gunship on my Spectrum 48k that still works - emulators can never do those rubber buttons Imagine if I could have seen that DCS pre-order video back in 1986... Rogue Trooper Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 (edited) Soon..... I will be parting with $2000 to get a graphics card that will hopefully get the apache ticking along toot sweet in VR when in tight and uncomfortable situations. For me it is all relative. Edited October 8, 2021 by Rogue Trooper HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

DucS2r Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 (edited) I have been waiting for this since Janes AH64 D Longbow. I played the entire campaign with my two sons, one on each knee. One was 4 one was 6. Original Thrustmaster controls. They are in their early 30’s now and I won’t tell you how old I am. But I feel like a kid in a candy store, lol. Redragefun Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I used miles and got the module for about $40. Then I was super happy thinking I could fly it...not yet. Damn, I was hoping. Oh well, back to the Hiney. Pretty sure the Hind was the Russian, modern equivalent to the Iron Maiden.
iceman14555 Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 bought me one, bought my two friends one each. $150 well wasted, I think my wallet is still happy too. 1
simfan2019 Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 (edited) Me too. It's been 20 years ... Jane's, EEAH, A:AA, Apache in Arma3 ... Day 1 purchase ... of course. I also bought 2 licenses ... for me and my son. This is an ED triumph ... first the Mossie and now the ultimate war-machine. [only waiting for the BS3 ... I feel that is incoming too]. Gerrard Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Best $50 I ever spent - and I'm not even a helo guy.
Funkysak Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I was at "Shut up and take my money!" with the first teaser video. I don't think there has been another module teased as hard as this one. 1 "Now how do I land this thing?" *Sound of pages turning*
Gumbie Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 (edited) Shit when then said this and the Hind was coming I bought a K-51 collective and then turned around an bought the one from WinWing Still yet to use it but its coming I have it and TPR pedals setting waiting for upgrade after I get everything resized and built. Even if some things are not yet developed it's just that sort of product you need to own. From models, '90s sims to popculture and real life, if you have a gaming computer and some interest in (military) aviation, this is a must-have. I believe this will boost awareness in DCS with general gaming crowd, just like A-10 did 10 years ago. Everyone knows how badass the Apache is and wants to shoot things with it. Non-simming crowd trying to figure it out will produce some hilarious vids, I can already tell. I hope large mainstream gaming chanels give it some well-deserved promotion. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
FalcoGer Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 I did buy it, and I hope for a good product of course. But I think you should reserve your happiness when you finally get to blow stuff up in the thing.
Top Jockey Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 (edited) This ^ I'm also looking forward to acquire the AH-64D, as amongst several things I look forward to know its several sensors, avionics, sights, etc. ... however I'll spend my money only when the product effectively comes out. odrin Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 in the decade since i bought ka-50, i have only ever purchased a-10c, f-14b, and apache. they should dispense with all the other crap and garbage and focus on apache only. quality>quantity.

No sure if I understood it well, but... Yeah, they should have focused 100% on the Viggen, because that is MY favourite module. Let´s ignore the fact that it was not even made by ED.. On a serious note, isn´t it wonderful that we are able to make missions including some of the hottest aircraft in existence, simulated in almost every detail, and fly them with our mates on a sunday evening. Last night a flight of Hinds escorted a flight of Hueys carrying special forces, for a raid behind enemy lines. Most helicopters had more than one player "on board". Not the most realistic scenario, but we had loads of fun. Why should we return to the "one game - one aircraft" paradigm, when we can have it the other way? 5

AKA_Clutter Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Gunship, Gunship 2000, Jane's Longbow, Jane's Longbow II, .... .... ... DCS AH-64D a no brainer. And that doesn't mention the other helo's along the way. Well, there are several good modules and each have a different feel imho. I attempt to fly the Ka-50, UH-1H, SA342, F/A-18, and F-16. I have the F-14 but doesn't really "float my boat". Also, do some WW2 from time to time. I hope that ED and all 3rd parties keep up the production as overall the quality is had to beat (again imho). 2 ---------------- AKA_Clutter Win 10 Pro, Intel i7 12700k @4.6 GHz, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW, Ultra 64 GB G.Skill DDR4 3600 RAM, Acer 27" flat screen, HP Reverb G2, TM Warthog HOTAS with Virpil warBRD base, MFG Rudder Pedals, Virpil TCS Rotor Base with AH-64Dcollective, TrackIR 5 Pro w/Vector Expansion, PointCTRL.
