in this update OpenXR is natively enabled in DCS, so maybe a conflict with "OpenXR toolkit" ?

Would you kindly include things like that in the changelog next time?

Thank you.

Quite. This is probably the most impacting thing in the patch for VR users and snuck in without a mention!

Wow. Since open xr native applications can switch in between vr and 2d dynamically without restarting the game can you please tell us what keybinding or hot key do you use in DCS to do the switch?

Thanks for openXR.

I liked steam VR, i never had to go into DCS and click the vr check to play VR.

If i wanted VR i choose start steam vr when i hit the play button.

If i didnt want VR(working in the editor or watching a track) i choose to start with out vr.

Now I'll have to go into DCS.  Click the vr tab. Wait for a restart to play vr. And the reverse to play flat. And keeps doing that.

It was one of the main reasons I gave up on openxr in DCS and went back to steam vr.

Hi, just to confirm, so there is no longer a need to swap the DLLs out? The app is using OpenXR natively out of the box with no modification? If so, that also means Reshade will no longer work, not an issue for me personally.

You can create another shortcut and add "--force_disable_VR" to the command line to launch in 2D. So you then have two shortcuts, one for VR and one for 2D.

just bare in mind options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = true is very w.i.p and possibly obsolete in future versions

It's been very WIP for over 4 years by now. But now you say it will get obsolete - does it mean that Single Pass Stereo will finally be fully implemented making that switch obsolete? Would be very much appreciated and probably do more for our performance than having multi threading (in the end, everything counts, though)! fsgrin.png

I've never tried that OpenXR mod... is the support now officially integrated into DCS so that mod gets obsolete? Could you maybe elaborate on this? I'm still stuck with SteamVR firing up and with the Quests, performance with either AirLink or Virtual Desktop is just atrocious, wired link is totally broken anyway. On top of that, the notes don't read anything about the up to 60% fps loss from 2.8.x over 2.7.x yet (I do even have that in pancake, so it's not just the flat shadow bug).

Please disregard Bignewy's comment, he's talking nonsense.

The issue is caused by the F-16C's damage model. The pilot's hitbox is defined by the entire canopy. It is the same in the F/A-18C too. Any hits to the glass cause the death of the pilot.

I started a topic how to temporary fix it. F-16 canopy is not even made of glass. Canopy is very resistant.

Here's a canopy of downed F-16: https://www.f-16.net/articles_article8.html

I can assure you the viper is more vulnerable, but no worries, you do you.

You guys should probably ease up on disrespecting your own members, also making misguided assumptions about matters while evidence suggest otherwise. Neither is an effective way to defend the hard work put into these modules. Some of us have been engineering aerospace systems and components for decades and know a thing or two...

Why not just forward the concerns to the relative individuals and leave assumptions out of it?

Just make another desktop shortcut to the DCS.exe in the bin subfolder that has the respective parameter added: »"E:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_disable_VR« and use that for pancake ops.

Forcing motion reprojection in OpenXR for WMR seems to create a crash, we are reporting now.

Auto or disable seems ok.

New Fuzes. If you put 1 bomb you can modify fuzes. if you put 2 of the same kind in one pylon you can´t.

Also please indicate where is the documentation for each one.  Thanks

No problem, we should have spotted it before, but I have it disabled on my end.

If you are using openXR toolkit that is whats stopping the game from loading. It is the TURBO mode setting that is causing this. Open the toolkit app and check off start in safe mode and go to last page and do a reset. BUT without TURBO mode running you will find your frames now suck.

That maybe another issue but even with the Toolkit disabled having motion reprojection on causes DCS to freeze

Although Auto is the same as disabling it. So there is currently no way currently of using motion reprojection.

I understand correctly, now instead of steam vr you need to install open xr toolkit ?

You don't "need" OXRTK, it just allows you to tweak some additional settings. It is very very useful, but there seems to be some mixed success running it with the newly introduced  native OXR support in DCS (depending on Headset in use).

I only had to reconfigure OpenXR Toolkit, at start. I 've set the same options as before ( with Turbo Mode ON ). Restart DCS, and everything is fine. No crashes. Played for 4 hours in VR without issues. ( Reverb G2 )
