Patience gentlemen
dcs is working hard to ensure we get this patch as quickly as possible, and personally I'd rather wait 24 hours more than have a disappointment.
And tomorrow we will all be satisfied when we download with a beating heart.

People, NEVER change anything in your lifes for an update or a module release, always have the thought in your mind that it will be delayed, you´ll be happier and wont be let down, in fact you´ll get only good surprises, I learned the lesson some time ago, and it works, hehe.

Its true that the Chinook thing is weird, mainly because theres 0 content about it besides some pretty images from trailers (thing that has never been done before the launch a module that I can recall, and it doesn´t inspire much confidence), but the update is delayed only by one day and its the middle of the week, so it´s not that bad.

Years ago I used to play another game (not a flight sim, but a pretty detailed wargame) where the culture on their forums was to respond to every question about when something was going to be released with, "When it's ready!"  That was the response from both the company itself, and the people on the forums.  I deeply wish that were the culture here as well.  It took a little getting used to, but I think it removes a lot of the pressure on the devs when they have a public timeline, and it removes an easy way for the chronically unhappy people to hang a mistake over their heads until the end of time.  It doesn't mean the company can't have their own internal expected release dates, and perhaps blow past them as well, but airing that date publicly really seems to have no upside.

Yes, that's certainly a solution to avoid any disgruntled comments.

However, given the number of users, I still believe that the chronic complainers make up a maximum of 1% and that the remaining 99% are happy to be informed that something is in the pipeline and can also deal with the fact that deadlines are being postponed.

For my part, I am happy to receive any information from ED and am sufficiently understanding that they can change plans at any time.

It's just a game. I think - especially in today's world - there are more important things to pay attention to than the postponement of a release date for a patch.

We share our plans, if those plans change we let you know. People will be unhappy when dates change of course, and many will express that. But if we need more time we will always take it, its better to have a good patch than a bad one. 

Either way dont let it ruin your day, we will get the patch, and soon everyone will be enjoying new content.

Patch time for all patches is around 16:00 GMT, sometimes it's a bit later, but that is the time they aim for.
